  • The future of programming, or what lies in the future in programming?

    I remember that a article that Microsoft uses formal verification to debug the Device Driver, and I also remember that Functional Programming removes much of the bug as it ensures stateless programming. And we all know about the multi-core. I beleive all of them are future direction of programming or programming language. Multi-core programming or parallel programming Software Formal Verification Functional Programming (as a mainstream?) What do you think? What will be the future of programming?

  • windows 7 compatibility windows registry windows xp issue

    Hi, I have an application developed in VC++ 2010 , it runs in xp , it also runs in Windows 7 when i check the run in XP mode. When i check the run in xp mode , it sets a string value in HK_LOCAL_USER \Software\microsoft\windowsNT\currentversion\appcompatflags\layers folder , and runs well. When i set the same value in the folder through an application built in VC++ 2010 , it doesn't work why..? are there any other dependencies , that i should look into..?

  • C# Eval() support

    Hi Guys, we need to evaluate a value in an object in run time while we have a textual statement of the exact member path for example: myobject.firstMember.secondMember[3].text we thought of parsing this textual statement using regex and then evaluate the text value by using reflection but before we do that i wonder if C# support some kind of eval ability? so we won't have to do the parsing ourself.     Microsoft's FxCop tool uses the introspection API. This introspection API could be used to develop new code analysis tools. But the introspection api is not documented well. Additionally, I was not able to figure out any blogs which explains this API in breadth and depth of it. The knowledge gained by understanding the API can also be used for writing custom FxCop rules. Does anybody knows about any blog or resources which explains the same?

I found this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=FCE9ABBF-F807-45D6-A457-AB5615001C8F&displaylang=en That has SQL Server CE 3.5 SP1. I read the whole page, and can't seem to find out for sure if SP1 is a full install or if it needs SQLServer CE 3.5 first. Does anyone know?

I have confirmed that I am including shobjidl.h (but I checked and this file only defines up to ITaskbarList2). I have Visual Studios 2008 (SP1) and I have Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Server 2008 installed. Does anyone know what I am missing?

  • Activesync wont connect to my Windows CE 6 device

    Hi! When I connect my Windows CE 6 device to my development machine I get Microsoft USB Sync to register in Windows Device manager. But I cant connect with ActiveSync for some reason. Any ideas on how to fix this? It worked with Windows CE 5, but when we upgraded ActiveSync-functionality disappeared.

    Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codapage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). Any suggestions on how to get this working are much appreciated.

    Tried to install some program, it gives above message requiring 1.1.4322. BUT as the title says, all the frameworks are already installed on my WinXP SP2, if i inspect C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\ The machine has VS2008 which essentially required full installtion of Framework 3.5 SP1. Any ideas? (i know, just re-install framework 1.1 again, but why should i - I can see all Frameworks are installed, and things are supposed to be backward compatible.

    I have Visual Studio 2005 and want to teach myself DirectX in my free time. I downloaded the latest Windows 7 and DirectX SDKs. According to Microsoft's website, the latest DirectX SDK is not compatible with Visual Studio 2005 (I assume they mean it's not compatible with the SDK it came with). Can I configure VS2005 to use the SDKs I downloaded instead of the SDK it came with? If so, is there anything I should be particularly careful with?

    I have two datagridviews. So for the second one, i just copy-pasted the code from the first and changed where the difference was. But i get an error at the secod data grid when i want to view the result of my sql code. Translated in english the error show something like that there was no value given to at least one required parameter. Google has the google contacts API for these purposes, does MSN publish a similar javascript API?
