  • Filter on exception text in elmah

    Is there a way to filter exceptions in elma using the exception message? Examples: "System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out." I don't want to filter out all HttpException, but only the timed-out requests. "System.Web.HttpException: Maximum request length exceeded." What I don't want to do is write own code for that. So is it possible to do this with the buildin-web.config configuration? Thank you!

  • java.lang.Error: "Not enough storage is available to process this command" when generating images

    I am running a web application on BEA Weblogic 9.2. Until recently, we were using JDK 1.5.0_04, with JAI 1.1.2_01 and Image IO 1.1. In some circumstances (we never figured out exactly why), when we were processing large images (but not that large - a few MB), the JVM would crash without any error message or stack trace or anything. This didn't happen much in production, but enough to be a nuisance and eventually we were able to reproduce it. We decided to switch to JRockit90 1.5.0_04 and we were no longer able to reproduce the problem in our test environment, so we thought we had it licked. Now, however, after the application server has been up for a while, we start getting the error message, "Not enough storage is available to process this command" during image operations.   • Casting SelectedItem of WPF Combobox to Color causes exception

    I have a combobox databound to the available system colors. When the user selects a color the following code is fired: private void cboFontColour_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e) { Color colour = (Color)(cboFontColour.SelectedItem); } This throws a Casting Exception with the following message: "Specified cast is not valid." When I hover over cboFontColour.SelectedItem in the debugger, it is always a Color object. I do not understand why the system seemingly cannot cast from Color to Color, any help would be much obliged.

    Hi, using ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and I have a action that returns a JsonResult and I need to redirect another action that also returns a JsonResult action type. The problem is the RedirectToAction() returns a RedirectToRouteResult class and seems there is no way to convert that to JsonResult class ? This is the error I am getting; Error 124 Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Web.Mvc.RedirectToRouteResult' to 'System.Web.Mvc.JsonResult'

    I am developing report using SQL Report Builder 2.0, In this I am passing the timezone offset value as a parameter (-04:00). Using "TimeZoneInfo" I am getting all the timezones available from the system. But I am checking the timezone with the offset value, so from the list available I can only get the first timezone object. Is there any other ways to get a specific TimezoneInfo from the system. I have a form that posts to a details page (/Summary/Details), which loads in some data from SQL. I then have a button that opens a dialog box in JQuery, which populates the dialog from a request to (/Operator/Modify). On the dialog box, the form has a combo box and an OK button that lets the user change the operator's name. Upon clicking OK, the form is posted to (/Operator/Modify) and sent through the service and repository layers of my program and updates the record in the database. Then, the RedirectToAction is called to send the user back to the details page (/Summary/Details) where there is a call to pull the data from SQL again, updating the details view. Everything works great, except the details view does not show the new operator that was selected. I can step through the code and see the DCSDataContext class being accessed to update the operator (which does actually change the database record), but when the DCSDataContext is accessed to reload the details objects, it pulls in the old value. I'm guessing that StructureMap is causing not only the DCSDataContext class but also the data to be cached? I have also tried adding the following to the Global.asax, but it just ends up crashing the program telling me the DCSDataContext has been disposed...     I am drawing on a canvas with the following line: ctx.drawImage(compositeImage, 0, 0, image.width, image.height, i, j, scaledCompositeImageWidth, scaledCompositeImageHeight); This code has executed error free on Safari, Chrome, Firefox (and even IE using google's excanvas library). However, a recent update to Chrome now throws the following error: Uncaught Error: INDEX_SIZE_ERR: DOM Exception 1 This code often positions part or all of the drawn image OFF the canvas, anyone got any idea what's going on here?

  • PHP: Can pcntl_alarm() and socket_select() peacefully exist in the same thread?

    I have a PHP CLI script mostly written that functions as a chat server for chat clients to connect to (don't ask me why I'm doing it in PHP, thats another story haha). My script utilizes the socket_select() function to hang execution until something happens on a socket, at which point it wakes up, processes the event, and waits until the next event. Now, there are some routine tasks that I need performed every 30 seconds or so (check of tempbanned users should be unbanned, save user databases, other assorted things). From what I can tell, PHP doesn't have very great multi-threading support at all. My first thought was to compare a timestamp every time the socket generates an event and gets the program flowing again, but this is very inconsistent since the server could very well sit idle for hours and not have any of my cleanup routines executed. I came across the PHP pcntl extensions, and it lets me use assign a time interval for SIGALRM to get sent and a function get executed every time it's sent. This seems like the ideal solution to my problem, however pcntl_alarm() and socket_select() clash with each other pretty bad. Every time SIGALRM is triggered, all sorts of crazy things happen to my socket control code. My program is fairly lengthy so I can't post it all here, but it shouldn't matter since I don't believe I'm doing anything wrong code-wise. My question is: Is there any way for a SIGALRM to be handled in the same thread as a waiting socket_select()? If so, how? If not, what are my alternatives here? Here's some output from my program. My alarm function simply outputs "Tick!" whenever it's called to make it easy to tell when stuff is happening.
