Resize jqGrid based on number of rows?

I want my jqGrid to shrink and expand based on the number of rows it has. Let say it currently has 10 rows, the height of the jqGrid will shrink to 10 rows (so that no gaping empty rows is exposed). If however there are too many rows, the height of the grid will expand to a maximum 'height' value and a scroll bar will appear.

Strange issue with jQueryUI and .htaccess RewriteRule

I have the following rule in my .htaccess which redirects any requests for /labs/... to /projects/...: RewriteRule ^labs/(.+)$ projects/$1 [L] Where projects is a local folder on my web server. I'm using jQueryUI on a page in a subfolder of projects, say projects/project1/index.php. When I hit http://mydomain.com/projects/project1/ everything is fine. However if I hit http://mydomain.com/labs/project1/ almost everything is fine, except that I get the following warning in my JS console: Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html. ui-bg_highlight-soft_60_4ca20b_1x100.png And my jQueryUI button loses its glossy look. I don't even know where to begin to try to solve this. But if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi All, I am making a small form for a php app and had a question regarding javascript validation. What is the best event to run the javascript validation on the input value? Is it the "focusout" event? I used "focusout" to originally but it creates problems when the user hits enter while they are still focused on any particular field in the form. Should I run the js validation when the user clicks submit? Just looking for some advice. Thanks! Chuck

Using hover to swap images, I don't want to swap images if I'm on '.this_page'...

When I land on the page, another function (not shown, that works fine) sets the class of the appropriate nav to '.this_page' and then I roll over, and the images swap correctly, but when I hover and leave 'img.this_page' it swaps, the second time I do the hover. I don't want it 'img.this_page' to swap. I tried unbinding mouseout, but on hover apparently it rebinds... so each time you hover, it resets. Unable to Use Simple JSOUP Example To Parse Website Table Data

Not responding to events?

I currently have three Divs and only one of them is in focus at a given time. All of them line up in a film strip fashion. When I click a DIV not in focus, the current one moves to the left or right (depending on the direction) and the new one comes into focus. The divs can have content that has links. So my problem is that upon clicking on the divs not in focus, if I happen to click on a link, the event is captured. Is there anyway I can disable event detection for divs not in focus? What I am looking for is something like: if(div not in focus) disable all links if (div comes into focus) enable all links

Annoying Bug in banner cycle

I have created a rotating banner script for a new site I'm developing View banner here(it rotates every 10 seconds) Unfortunately to the transition seems to be a biut buggy, and the image will fade out, show the same image again and then fade in the new one. view-port resize vs document resize in IE

window.resize event in IE doesnt do what i thought it does. I thought it only triggered when the physical window/view-port changed size (ie user hits maximize on the browser window for example), but it is also triggered if i change the document size, introducing scroll bars. is there any way to tell those two things apart: view port resize, and document resize without writing an elaborate hack?

Javascript not working IE any version

Hey everyone. I am having some issues on my end and hopefully it's just something on my end but, could someone take a look at THIS PAGE in IE and let me know if you can see what is wrong. Please check it out first in FF or Chrome or Safari because it all works fine in those browsers. The two scripts I am using are a custom-ish dropdown menu and another using jcarousel lite. I want to detect an extended mousedown. The following code works in Firefox and Safari... var mousedownTimeout; $('#testButton').mousedown(function(){ mousedownTimeout = window.setTimeout(function(){ alert("Hey, let go."); }, 2000); }); $('#testButton').mouseup(function(){ window.clearTimeout(mousedownTimeout); }); ... but not on the iPhone because (quoting quirksmore.org)... The iPhone fires the mousedown, mouseup and click events in the correct order on a click (tap), but it either fires all three or none at all. Is there a way around this?

I want when I move the slider to move a dot on the chart accordingly with the slider position. See attached screenshot: As you can see it seems to work fine. I've implemented this behaviour using the pathIntersection() method. On the slide event at each ui.value (x coordinate) I intersect my chartPath (the one from above) with a vertical straight line at the x coordinate. But still there are some problems. One of them is that it runs very hard, and it kinda freezes sometimes.. and very weird sometimes it doesn't seem to intersect at all even it should.. I'll example below 2 cases I identified: M 499.8461538461538 0 L 499.8461538461538 140 M 910 0 L 910 140 Could you please explain why this intersect behaviour happens (it should return a dot).. and the worst part it seems like it happens randomly.. if I use another chartdata. Also if you can identify another (better) solution to syncronise the slider position with the dot on the chart.. would be perfect. I thought about using Element.getPointAtLength(length), but I don't know how. I think I should save the pathSegments and for each to compute the start Length and the finish Length.

I know this can be done adding button to a body and attaching a click listener but I am stumped at a point where I need to resize my iframe (UI after they click a button) and it cannot be done from internal iframe.
