• System.Reflection and InvokeMember, storing type, assembly, and object in a class

  I have tested code to call a method inside of a compiled DLL, and it works. I created a class to store the object, type, and loaded assembly, but something is lost in translation because it is unable to find the member I wish to invoke. If I create a type, object, and assembly, and properly load everything into these and perform InvokeMember on the type, it works just fine. However, when I use the things inside of my class, it throws a MissingMemberException and does not invoke the member, obviously. What am I doing wrong? The member in question is a subroutine which takes one argument, a string. This is quite frustrating. • "Decompile" Javascript function? *ADVANCED*

  [1] Ok, I don't even know how to call this, to be honest. So let me get some semi-pseudo code, to show what I'm trying to do. I'm using jquery to get an already existing script declared inside the page, inside a createDocument() element, from an AJAX call. • Trouble with LINQ databind to GridView and RowDataBound

  Greetings all, I am working on redesigning my personal Web site using VS 2008 and have chosen to use LINQ to create by data-access layer. Part of my site will be a little app to help manage my budget better. My first LINQ query does successfully execute and display in a GridView, but when I try to use a RowDataBound event to work with the results and refine them a bit, I get the error: The type or namespace name 'var' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) This interesting part is, if I just try to put in a var s = "s"; anywhere else in the same file, I get the same error too. If I go to other files in the web project, var s = "s"; compiles fine. • How to perform Linq select new with datetime in SQL 2008

  In our C# code I recently changed a line from inside a linq-to-sql select new query as follows: OrderDate = (p.OrderDate.HasValue ? p.OrderDate.Value.Year.ToString() + "-" + p.OrderDate.Value.Month.ToString() + "-" + p.OrderDate.Value.Day.ToString() : "") To: OrderDate = (p.OrderDate.HasValue ? p.OrderDate.Value.ToString("yyyy-mm-dd") : "") The change makes the line smaller and cleaner. It also works fine with our SQL 2008 database in our development environment. However, when the code deployed to our production environment which uses SQL 2005 I received an exception stating: Nullable Type must have a value. For further analysis I copied (p.OrderDate.HasValue ? p.OrderDate.Value.ToString("yyyy-mm-dd") : "") into a string (outside of a Linq statement) and had no problems at all, so it only causes an in issue inside my Linq. Is this problem just something to do with SQL 2005 using different date formats than from SQL 2008? • Why am I having this InstantiationException in Java when accessing final local variables?

  I was playing with some code to make a "closure like" construct ( not working btw ) Everything looked fine but when I tried to access a final local variable in the code, the exception InstantiationException is thrown. If I remove the access to the local variable either by removing it altogether or by making it class attribute instead, no exception happens. The doc says: InstantiationException Thrown when an application tries to create an instance of a class using the newInstance method in class Class, but the specified class object cannot be instantiated. The instantiation can fail for a variety of reasons including but not limited to: - the class object represents an abstract class, an interface, an array class, a primitive type, or void - the class has no nullary constructor What other reason could have caused this problem?   When I return my object as JSON via JsonDataContractCodec OpenRasta sets Content-Type header to application/json but ignores charset part of content type. When I use Chrome it sends GET request with folowing header: Accept-Charset:windows-1251,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.3 and all my utf-8 encoded json objects goes wrong. I tried to override OperationResult with no luck. OpenRasta overwrites my header with codec's one.

  I have multiple .Net applications that read the same file type, but when deployed with ClickOnce, the file association in Windows is made to "ClickOnce Application Deployment Support Library", which is what actually launches the program. But once the first .Net application is installed on the workstation, subsequent applications can't be selected in the "Open With" menu, and "ClickOnce Application Deployment Support Library" won't give the user a choice, either. How can I associate multiple ClickOnce-published applications to the same file type so the user can pick between them?

  It comes up from time to time and I'm wondering of it's possible to use type info when searching in visual studio, or is there a plugin that includes this? I'd like to search for the phrase "x == " or "x.ToString();" where x is of type 'Person'. If I specify the type as xs:decimal like this: <xs:element name="Sample" type="xs:decimal" /> then a blank value would not pass validation: <Sample/> (I realize that the best way to indicate no value would be to not include the element, but I was wondering if there was a way to allow blank or decimal.)
