    Hello, I seem to have a problem deploying django with mod_wsgi. In the past I've used mod_python but I want to make the change.   • Java: very slow tomcat and too big war file

    I created some sort of RESTful API backend for a mobile app. It's written completely in Java using Jersey as Framework. At the moment no database is used, it's all in the memory, but this is no problem so far (it's only for prototyping purposes). I ordered the smallest package from digital ocean and installed tomcat7. All in all tomcat works, but I have three major problems: 1) It takes a long time until tomcat deploys the app: I deploy it per tomcat manager and it takes about 2 minutes unit the site works (excl. war upload time). 2) The war files are quite big (16MB): I don't know why they are so big. There are no database dependencies and most logic is written in plain java. Okay, we are using jersey, but 16MB are a lot for the logic of a small webservice. 3) I have to restart tomcat all 3 days or so. It looks like a memory leak or something similar. If the app runs for a few days the response time is quite high and the server seems to be frozen. It works again, if I restart tomcat per ssh. You can find my mvn pom file right here. Do you have some tips? Are there good tomcat alternatives?

Connect, that is, because no traffic is being redirected. When I try to load a webpage when connected to the vpn I just get an error.     I've got a table with around 20 million rows. For arguments sake, lets say there are two columns in the table - an id and a timestamp. I'm trying to get a count of the number of items per day. Here's what I have at the moment. SELECT DATE(timestamp) AS day, COUNT(*) FROM actions WHERE DATE(timestamp) >= '20100101' AND DATE(timestamp) < '20110101' GROUP BY day; Without any indices, this takes about a 30s to run on my machine.   • MP4 files show up but won't stream to xbox 360

    I set up a basic media server to stream to my 360 using uShare. Here are the instructions I used: http://linuxexpresso.wordpress.com/2011/01/02/howto-ubuntu-upnp-server-to-xbox-360/. I can stream avi files fine but I cannot stream mp4s. When I go to videos on the xbox, I can see all of the videos and folders but when I click play for an mp4 nothing happens. On my ubuntu desktop I can click on the mp4 file and it plays fine. And if I take that file, stick it on a thumb drive and plug it directly into the xbox the mp4 will play off the thumb drive. I'm lost for why it won't work through ushare. Any ideas?

    In Google Analytics new design, there is an area related to the queries and impressions related to your site. You can get there by following Traffic Sources = Search Engine Optimization = Queries. However, it now shows zero for the "Site Usage" graph, at the top section, while other areas of Google Analytics definitely show that site has visitors and has been used. No matter how much I search, I can't find the source of the problem. Does anyone know where the problem might be?

  • Displaylink USB show "Logo / Loading" on monitor

    I tried with this problem for 2 years already. LOL, today, I install Ubuntu for I have to resolve it or I will back to stupid Windows 7. First, I have 3 monitors. My graphic card is support dual ( ATI Radeon ), so I have no problem on extend those multi monitor on VGA and DVI. The 3rd monitor is Displaylink USB. After installed everything required, when I reboot, the displaylink monitor show "Ubuntu ...." like logo / loading screen. I go to System Display , Detect monitor, it only show my 1st and 2nd, NO 3RD Displaylink. I can move my mouse between those 1st & 2nd, but the 3rd is only show the Ubuntu Screen. I press Ctrl+Alt+1, then screen switch to Displaylink USB 3RD monitor, but its "Terminal" not a desktop. Then I press Ctrl+Alt+7 , the screen switch back to my 1st, 2nd, and the displaylink 3rd is witch back to Logo / Ubuntu again. Is the best solution here to remove the Disallow from Robots.txt and just add noindex, nofollow meta tag to those pages you want blocked? Or should I submit a request to Google directly to remove those pages?

    Seeing some posts that say 10 million rows in a table is nothing made me wonder: Just how big are most production databases? I'm not talking about physical disk size of the database (saying 60 GB tells me nothing), I'm wondering how many rows. Personally the largest DB I've ever worked with was a test DB of a production system with 10 million rows. But I've seen people brag about DB's in the billions of rows.

    I have to handle many (1'000 - 30'000) big files ranging from 200MB up to 2GB. The demand for these files is variable (0 - 300 downloads / file). This is why a single file must saved on 2 or more servers. My servers are placed in different datacenters (France), with different size HDDs (750GB to 4TB). Currently I share the files using PHP and ncftpget / ncftpput, but it's very slow. I need a solution to handle balancing these files across 7+ servers.

They will still meet the June 2011 date for many "urgently required" projects but some projects will not come until the second half of 2011. The reason for this is to allow more time for due diligence, review and consensus. Will this delay the U.S. adoption to IFRS? According to Ms. Schapiro, no, it will not; she is confident that the decision to adopt IFRS in the U.S. will be decided by 2011. I personally hope so because I fear that if the decision is delayed further, it might seep into the 2012 presidential election which could delay the adoption further.   • Jquery .Show() .Hide() not working as expected

    I'm trying to use the show and hide to display a different set of select options when a certain report type is selected. I have a couple problems with this: The .show .hide only execute properly if I pass params, slow fast, in the the first result of my conditional statement. If I take out the params or pass params in both results, only one select shows and it never changes.. here's is the code that currently kind of works. if ($('#ReportType').val() == 'PbuseExport') { $('#PbuseServices').show('fast'); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').hide('fast'); } else { $('#PbuseServices').hide(); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').show(); } After i've used this control I am taken to a differnt page. When I use the control again, it reatins the original search values and repopulates the control. Then again I only want to show one select option if a certain report is chosen.. This works correctly if the report type I originally searched on is not the "PbuseExport". If I searched on the report type "PbuseExport", then both selects show on the screen, and only until I change the report type does it show only one select. I know this probably isn't very clear.. Here is the code that handles the change event on the report type drop down. var serviceValue = $("#ReportType").val(); switch (serviceValue) { case 'PbuseExport': $('#PbuseServices').show('fast'); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').hide('fast'); default: $('#PbuseServices').hide(); $('#ReportServiceDropdown').show(); break; }

Le patch de novembre corrige quatre vulnérabilités (CVE-2011-2004, CVE-2011-2013, CVE-2011-2014, CVE-2011-2016), toutes signalées confidentiellement à Microsoft. Une est considérée comme critique, une comme modérée et les deux dernières comme importantes. La première vulnérabilité, référencée CVE-2011-2013, permet via un integer overflow d'un compteur dans la pile TCP/IP de Windows, une exploitation de code arbitraire en mode noyau.
