  • IIS web server could not be browse in the LAN, only locally

    Hi, I had installed a new IIS7 on a Win2008. Everything worked perfect on the server, but everytime a computer in the LAN tried to browse the web server the client got an error 401 - No autorizado: acceso denegado debido a credenciales no válidas. No tiene permiso para ver este directorio o esta página con las credenciales que ha proporcionando. The IIS user had full permission in the fily system and on the IIS. Have anyone an idea why this could be happening? Thanks

  • How to setup Lucene/Solr for a B2B web app?

    Given: 1 database per client (business customer) 5000 clients Clients have between 2 to 2000 users (avg is ~100 users/client) 100k to 10 million records per database Users need to search those records often (it's the best way to navigate their data) Possibly relevant info: Several new clients each week (any time during business hours) Multiple web servers and database servers (users can login via any web server) Let's stay agnostic of language or sql brand, since Lucene (and Solr) have a breadth of support For Example: Joel Spolsky said in Podcast #11 that his hosted web app product, FogBugz On-Demand, uses Lucene. He has thousands of on-demand clients. And each client gets their own database. They use an index per client and store it in the client's database. I'm not sure on the details. And I'm not sure if this is a serious mod to Lucene. The Question: How would you setup Lucene search so that each client can only search within its database? How would you setup the index(es)? Where do you store the index(es)? Would you need to add a filter to all search queries? If a client cancelled, how would you delete their (part of the) index? (this may be trivial--not sure yet) Possible Solutions: Make an index for each client (database) Pro: Search is faster (than one-index-for-all method). Indices are relative to the size of the client's data. Con: I'm not sure what this entails, nor do I know if this is beyond Lucene's scope. Have a single, gigantic index with a database_name field. Always include database_name as a filter. Pro: Not sure. Maybe good for tech support or billing dept to search all databases for info. Con: Search is slower (than index-per-client method). Flawed security if query filter removed. One last thing: I would also accept an answer that uses Solr (the extension of Lucene). Perhaps it's better suited for this problem. Not sure.

    I was reading an article on Batch Processing in java over at JDJ http://java.sys-con.com/node/415321 . The article mentioned using a persistence queue as a Batch Updater instead of immediately sending an individual insert or update to the database. The author doesn't give a concrete example of this concept so I googled Persistence Queue but that didn't come up with much. Does anyone know of a good example of this?

I was getting some exception when I was trying to run the website as it showed the "could not open the connection from con.open()". Is there some other step too that I am missing?

Sin embargo el mundo no se para, el negocio no se para, la adaptación debe ser permanente, nuestros clientes, internos y externos, tendrán nuevas exigencias y nuestro desarrollo no estará terminado, tendremos que integrarlo con otras áreas, tendremos que tratar de darle mayor funcionalidad y alcance, tendremos que adaptarlo a las nuevas tecnologías, permitir que la información se analice, se comparta, se acceda desde nuevos dispositivos … y veremos en primera persona cómo la trampa del desarrollo se cierra sobre nuestras cabezas, nunca estará terminado, la tecnología que usamos un día se quedará obsoleta, el ritmo de exigencia por funcionalidad e integración será cada vez mayor y no podremos sino poner más y más recursos dedicados al mantenimiento de un desarrollo propio, que no deja de comer, que me obliga a gastar más y más cada día y del que no puedo salir. Al poco tiempo me he convertido en una empresa de desarrollo de software dentro de mi propia empresa y ni tengo los recursos económicos para hacerlo viable, ni tengo las capacidades humanas y de inversión para responder a lo que se me exige desde el negocio. Así que pensemos, desde el principio, en que nuestra empresa debe perdurar muchos años, y hagamos el análisis de costes bajo esta perspectiva a la hora de tomar la decisión y veremos entonces que la adquisición de un ERP es mucho más económica que el desarrollo a medida. Por otro lado tenemos la integración. Un sistema de producción, requiere la asignación de recursos, que a su vez requieren de un plan de desarrollo, una formación o un cálculo de su nómina; también requiere de una cuenta contable, de una gestión de compras o de una asignación de costes y claro,de todos estos puntos nos vamos dando cuenta sobre la marcha, cuando en un sistema de gestión integral (ERP) lo tenemos disponible desde el primer momento. Claro que no nos vale un ERP cerrado, poco flexible y que no me permita diferenciar a mi empresa. Tenemos que buscar un socio tecnológico que nos acompañe, que asuma la inversión en tecnología y que me vaya suministrando versiones y soluciones acordes a las exigencias de los tiempos, de hoy y de mañana, pero además que me permita adaptar los flujos e innovar en los procesos para que podamos diferenciar nuestra empresa de la competencia, hoy y mañana. Veremos cómo, con la decisión de un ERP, flexible y abierto, los números salen y en el largo plazo es mucho más económica la decisión de adquirir un ERP que de optar por el desarrollo.   • Why does my motherboard go through an endless reboot cycle when 8 GB of memory is attempted vs 6 GB?

    I never got an answer in my googling to this about a year ago and have an extra stick of memory I'd like to be able to use. When is inserted the computer starts, and then reboots immediately in an endless reboot cycle. As soon as the 4th stick is removed, the computer works fine. Right now I have 6 GB of my 8 GB installed. Is there a solution that I am missing to enabling this motherboard to actually boot up with all 8 GB (it supports it). Right now it won't even boot up to BIOS with the 4 sticks... only 3?   • Unable to suspend with FGLRX enabled

    I am unable to suspend in a fully updated (as of yesterday, 29 March 2011) Ubuntu 10.10 installation (kernel 2.6.35-28). Following is a list of some of my hardware: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Video: Radeon HD-567X-YNF3 Initially, when I went to either Suspend or Hibernate the machine would almost go into suspend, but it would never power down. Instead it would bounce back to the login screen. This was due to a problem with the USB3 ports being unable to suspend (noticed this in /var/log/kern.log). Disabling the USB3 ports in the BIOS fixed this issue. Now Suspend and Hibernate power down the machine. It successfully awakens from Hibernate. However, it will not return from suspend. The mouse and keyboard are not powered and the monitor has no signal. These devices are still not powered after a restart. I must power-cycle the machine. The pm-suspend log ends after it states that it entered suspend (i.e. there is no information any resume code running). I discovered that acpitool -s suspends the machine and resumes successfully exactly once. The second time the machine will not resume. I am not sure how these two tools handle suspend differently. UPDATE: the problem was introduced somewhere between 2.6.35-22 and 2.6.35-28. I have both kernels install presently. Suspend works fine with 2.6.35-22 but not with 2.6.38-28.

    When trying to install ubuntu-12.04-desktop-amd64.iso from USB I get one of the following errors http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine_Check_Exception states the error can occur due to -poorly fitted heatsink/computer fans (the same problem can happen with excessive dust in the CPU fan) -an overloaded internal or external power supply (fixable by upgrading) So I tried the following -Using rubbing alcohol to remove all the thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink, I then reseated the CPU after checking all the pins on the MOBO, everything seems fine. -Boot without the GPU to see if was the PSU that is being over stressed. -Removing all RAM apart from one stick and running a Memtest86 which it passed -Using Ubuntu 10.04.4 Desktop 64 bit (Different USB slots and USB sticks) -Using Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop 64 bit (Different USB slots and USB sticks) -Reset the BIOS using the Clear CMOS jumper -Removing all HD power cables and SATA cables -Updating the BIOS from F2 to F6 My PC is using the following parts. -Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H (F6 BIOS) -Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5GHz Socket 1155 -G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V -Be Quiet Shadow Rock Pro -Be Quiet Pure Power 730W Modular PSU -Sapphire HD 6870 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card Any ideas?

  • IIS 7 Using Domain Account for Application pool identity Invalid Password

    I have an asp.net website containing a WCF service that I am developing on a Windows 7 machine hosted with IIS 7. I am needing to connect to an instance of Reporting Services 2005 with the service, and have been getting 401 errors when trying to execute reports. So, I assume that I need to be running the IIS Application pool under a domain account. The problem is that when I try to change the identity to a domain account, I get the error message "The specified password is invalid. Type a new password." I've rechecked the password multiple times to make sure it is correct. The account I'm using has admin rights on the machine. I saw elsewhere to try running this command: aspnet_regiis.exe -GA domain\username which I did but it didn't help. What else do I need to do?

    Along with our announced GA release of P6 Analytics R1 recently, you may have noticed that when you purchase P6 Analytics, we provide a restricted use license for P6 Reporting Database R2. This represent an updated version of the previous P6 Reporting Database 6.2 and can be purchased individually on a per-CPU basis. Typically, you will want just the reporting database if you would like the P6 data warehouse components such as the ETL, data models, ODS and star schemas in order to report on that data with another reporting tool other than Oracle. The P6 Analytics solution will only work on Oracle BI (OBI). But I pasted below some examples of a simplistic matrix report that I built from the P6 Reporting Database using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. This is the Report Builder tool which is very similar to other similar tools to build reports on the market today such as Crystal Reports or Oracle BI Publisher. This is an example of what you can do (in a very simple format) by using the P6 Reporting Database without P6 Analytics: Here is a quick run-down of some of the key new features in P6 Reporting Database R2 that were added as enhancements to the 6.2 version: • 4 new star schemas (improved projects star, project history, resource utilization and resource allocation) • Improved ETL performance and reliability • P6 security is inherited at the star schema level • Custom P6 project, activity & resource codes are now available as customizable dimensions in the star schemas • Time-phase data down to the data is now available from the star schemas • An updated Operational Data Store (ODS) for operational reporting that includes the WBS hierarchy • The ODS now includes daily spreads for activity and resource assignments
