I have a Question class in ActiveRecord with following fields: [ActiveRecord("`Question`")] public class Question : ObcykaniDb<Question> { private long id; private IList<Question> relatedQuestions; [PrimaryKey("`Id`")] private long Id { get { return this.id; } set { this.id = value; } } [HasAndBelongsToMany(typeof(Question), ColumnRef = "ChildId", ColumnKey = "ParentId", Table = "RelatedQuestion")] private IList<Question> RelatedQuestions { get { return this.relatedQuestions; } set { this.relatedQuestions = value; } } } How do I write a DetachedCriteria query to get all Questions that have at least 5 related questions (count) in the RelatedQuestions collection? For now this gives me strange results: DetachedCriteria dCriteria = DetachedCriteria.For<Question>() .CreateCriteria("RelatedQuestions") .SetProjection(Projections.Count("Id")) .Add(Restrictions.EqProperty(Projections.Id(), "alias.Id")); DetachedCriteria dc = DetachedCriteria.For<Question>("alias").Add(Subqueries.Le(5, dCriteria)); IList<Question> results = Question.FindAll(dc); Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    I have a base type where "business id" must be unique for a given subclass, but it is possible for there to be different subclasses with the same business id. If there is a base type with a requested id but of the wrong subclass I want to return null, using a named query. The code below does this, but I am wondering if I can avoid the try/catch with a better HQL. Can I?   • How to eager fetch a child collection while joining child collection entities to an association

    Assuming the following fictional layout Dealership has many Cars has a Manufacturer I want to write a query that says get me a Dealership with a Name of X and also get the Cars collection but use a join against the manufacturer when you do so. I think this would require usage of ICriteria. I'm thinking something like this.. var dealershipQuery = Session.CreateCriteria< Dealership>("d") .Add(Restrictions.InsenstiveLike("d.Name", "Foo")) .CreateAlias("d.Cars", "c") .SetFetchMode("d.Cars", FetchMode.Select) .SetFetchMode("c.Manufacturer", FetchMode.Join) .UniqueResult< Dealership>(); But the resulting query looks nothing like I would have expected. I'm starting to think a DetachedCriteria may be required somewhere but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

  • Criteria query returns hydrated object in SQLite but not SqlServer

    I have a method that returns a resource fully hydrated when the db is SQLite but when the identical code is used by SqlServer the object is not fully hydrated. I'll explain that with the code after some brief background. I my domain various otherwise unrelated things like an Employee or a Machine can be used as a Resource that can be allocated to. RepositoryWithTypedId does not expose a Save method Related question. This tells you the reason, but I haven't found out the Sharp Architecture way to do a Save.

    Hi, I have a pretty generic repository that does basic CRUD for many of my business entities. The entities enherit form a generic object that has a few fields I maintain for all objects. eg. ModifiedBy, CreatedBy, CreatedDate, ModifiedDate. These fields ModifiedBy and CreatedBy will always be set before any update/save. My questions is: Is there any way to gain access to the Identity object from my MVC web application in my repositories? My question is how to map this using the following class: public class Category { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual IDictionary<string, string> Translations { get; set; } } Getting the same as the SQL query above would be: Category category = session.Get<Category>(1); string name = category.Translations["en-US"]; And "name" would now contain the Category's name in en-US. Category is mapped against the Categories table. How would you do this and is it even possible?

  • When using a HiLo ID generation strategy, what types should be used to hold Ids?

    I'm asking this from a c#/NHibnernate perspective, but it's generally applicable. The concern is that the HiLo strategy goes though id's pretty quickly, and for example a low record-count table (Such as Users) is sharing from the same set of id's as a high record-count table (Such as comments). So you can potentially get to high numbers quicker that with other strategies. So what do people recommend? Code side: int/uint/long/ulong? DBSide: int/bigint? My feeling is to go with longs and bigingts, but would like a sanity check :)

I have tried any number of ways to get the original entity out of a query with ´SetProjection´ but no luck. The current theory is to do something like SELECT Foo.*, BarCounts.counts FROM Foo LEFT JOIN ( SELECT fooId, COUNT(*) as counts FROM Bar GROUP BY fooId ) AS BarCounts ON Foo.id=BarCounts.fooId but with Criterias, and I just can't seem to figure out how.

    To keep my queries self-contained and potentially reusable, I tended to do this in NH2: public class FeaturedCarFinder : DetachedCriteria { public FeaturedCarFinder(int maxResults) : base(typeof(Car)) { Add(Restrictions.Eq("IsFeatured", true)); SetMaxResults(maxResults); SetProjection(BuildProjections()); SetResultTransformer(typeof(CarViewModelMessage)); } } I'd like to use QueryOver now that I've moved to NH3, but I'm not sure how to do the above using QueryOver?

  • IQueryable Where fails to work

    I am using N-Hibernate and have a class/table called Boxers I also have a prospect table which tells use if the boxer is a prospect. (this table is one column of just the boxersID) So i Want to get all boxers that are prospects (meaning all boxers that have there id in the prospects table) Public static IQueryable<Boxer> IsProspect(this IQueryable<Boxer> query) { return query.Where(x => x.Prospect != null); } this doesnt trim down my list of boxers to the boxers that are prospect... yet if i debug and look at any boxer it will have True or false next to each one correctly... Why isnt the where clause correctly trimming down the list?

  • HQL 'parsename' equivalent

    I've discovered PARSENAME function as a good choice to order IP address stored in Database. Here there is an example. My issue is I'm using Hibernate with named queries in a xml mapping file and I am trying to avoid the use of session.createSQLQuery(..) function. I'm wondering if exists any PARSENAME equivalent function for HQL queries. I'm searching for it and cannot find anything. Many thanks.
