  • After mysql_query, no result output

    - by Jerry
I have a simple mysql_query() update command to update mysql. When a user submits my form, it will jump to an update page to update the data. The problem is that there's supposed to be some data shown after the update, but it comes out blank. My form <form id="form1" method="POST" action="scheduleUpdate.php" > <select name=std1> <option>AA</option> <option>BB</option> <option>CC</option> </select> <select name=std2> <option>DD</option> <option>EE</option> <option>FF</option> </select> .......//more drop down menu but the name is std3..std4..etc... ....... </form> scheduleUpdate.php //$i is the value posted from my main app to tell me how many std we have for($k=0;$k<$i;$k++){ $std=$_POST['std'.$k]; //if i remove the updateQuery, the html will output.I know the query is the problem but i //couldn't fix it.. $updateQuery=mysql_query("UPDATE board SET student='$std' WHERE badStudent='$std' or goodStudent='$std'",$connection); //no output below this line at all if($updateQuery){ DIE('mysql Error:'+mysql_error()); } } // I have bunch of HTML here....but no output at all!!!! MySQL will be updated after I hit submit, but it doesn't shown any HTML.

  • submitting a form inside a modalbox with jquery

    - by birdy
    submitting form with jQuery works $('#testform').submit(); doesn't work $('#testform').submit(function () { alert('test1'); return true; }); This is just an exmaple but at times i'd like to do stuff before submission of the form. Like for example submit the form using $.POST Update: If I keep both then the $.POST has no value because the form still gets submitted the traditional way, without ajax... $("#testform").submit(function() { $.post('/myajaxcontroller', function(data) { $('#result').html(data); }); }); $("#testform").submit();

  • form element not showing up after adding in through jquery

    - by ooo
    inside a jquery method (on a click event of a button) i have the following code: $(selector).html("<form action='/Tracker/CopyFood' method='post'><input type='hidden' name='Id' value=" + id + "><input class='very-small-input' type='text' name='Quantity' value='1' /> for <select name='Date'><option value='Today'>Today</option><option value='Yesterday'>Yesterday</option></select><select name='Meal'><option value='Breakfast'>Breakfast</option><option value='Lunch'>Lunch</option><option value='Dinner'>Dinner</option><option value='Evening Snack'>Evening Snack</option></select><input type='button' class='submitCopyFood' value='Add'> or <div style='display:inline' class='CancelCopy'>Cancel</div></form> "); it seems to work on the screen, but the button click "submitCopyFood" wasn't firing. When i click "View Selection Source" in firefox, i see the issue. All i see is this: <input name="Id" value="128" type="hidden"><input class="very-small-input" name="Quantity" value="1" type="text"> for <select name="Date"><option value="Today">Today</option><option value="Yesterday">Yesterday</option></select><select name="Meal"><option value="Breakfast">Breakfast</option><option value="Lunch">Lunch</option><option value="Dinner">Dinner</option><option value="Evening Snack">Evening Snack</option></select><input class="submitCopyFood" value="Add" type="button"> or <div style="display: inline;" class="CancelCopy">Cancel</div> Its like i never added the form anywhere. Is there any reason why i dont see the: <form action='/Tracker/CopyFood' method='post'> or the </form> in the source code inside the selected source. Is there something special that i need to do here?

  • Simple servlet or filter to process form

    - by David
Is there a simple framework for processing form submissions via a servlet? For my needs, a framework like STRUTS seems like over kill. My ideal processor would be a servlet that converts form elements into a bean object, possibly using typing information in the form to help with the conversion. Does something like this exist or is there another solution out there geared toward simpler needs? Thanks!

  • How to find the submit button in a specific form in jQuery

    - by leifg
I try to get jQuery object of a submit button in a specific form (there are several forms on the same page). I managed to get the form element itself. It looks something like this: var curForm = curElement.parents("form"); The current Element has the context HTMLInputElement. The several techniques I tried to get the according submit element of the form: var curSubmit = curForm.find("input[type='submit']"); var curSubmit = $(curForm).find("input[type='submit']"); var curSubmit = curForm.find(":submit"); var curSubmit = $(curForm).find(":submit"); var curSubmit = $(curSubmit, "input[type='submit']"); the result is always the same (and very strange). The result that I get is the same element as "curElement". So how can I get the right submit button?

  • Need advice on multitab form in ASP.NET MVC

    - by Sasha
Hi all, i need an advice on how to implement my form. I have a requirement: i need a form that spans through 5 tabs. Each tab has around 10 fields, some of them empty, some of them must contain data from db and be non editable. Each of these tabs must be a part of one form that is submitted to my controller. The question is: what is the best way to implement this? I was thinking about having partial views on each tab, each view would have its own model class. After form gets filled all data from all partials would go to action that will take care of all of it. Any advices? I am using ASP.NET MVC 1, Entity Framework 1, mvc extensions from Telerik and jQuery

  • jQuery - Cancel form submit (using "return false"?)?

    - by Nike
Hey there. I'm running into a bit of trouble while trying to cancel the submit of a form. I've been following this tutorial (even though i'm not making a login script), and it seems to be working for him. Here's my form: <form action="index.php" method="post" name="pForm"> <textarea name="comment" onclick="if(this.value == 'skriv här...') this.value='';" onblur="if(this.value.length == 0) this.value='skriv här...';">skriv här...</textarea> <input class="submit" type="submit" value="Publicera!" name="submit" /> </form> And here's the jquery: $(document).ready(function() { $('form[name=pForm]').submit(function(){ return false; }); }); I've already imported jQuery in the header and i know it's working. My first thought was that it might be outdated, but it's actually "just" a year ago. So do anyone see what's wrong? Thanks in advance. EDIT: From what i've read the easiest and most appropriate way to abort the submit is to return false? But i can't seem to get it working. I've searched the forum and i've found several helpful threads but none of them actually works. I must be screwing something up.

  • Flex Setting form height dynamically

    - by Daryl
I'm not sure if this is possible, is there a way to get the <mx:Form> to set its own height based on the position of an element within it? For example something like this: <mx:Form height="{submitBtn.y + submitBtn.height}"> <mx:FormItem>... </mx:FormItem> <mx:FormItem>... </mx:FormItem> <mx:FormItem>... </mx:FormItem> <mx:FormItem> <s:Button id="submitBtn" label="Submit" /> </mx:FormItem> </mx:Form> where the form height is dynamically set based on submitBtn's y position and its height. I tried using Alert.show to show these values and turned out submitBtn.y = 0 and submitBtn.height = 21. height sounds reasonable, but I know the y of submitBtn can't be 0 since it's below several other Is it possible to set the form height dynamically?

  • Form doesn't resize smoothly with a timer event

    - by BDotA
I have a grid control at the bottom of my form and it can be shown or hidden if user wants to show/hide it. So one way was to well use AutoSize of the form and change the Visuble property of that grid to true or false,... But I thought let's make it a little cooler! so I wanted the form to resize a little more slowly, like a garage door! So I dropped a Timer on the form and started increasing the height of the form little by little while the timer ticks... so something like this when user says show/hide the grid: timer1.Enabled = true; timer1.Start(); and something like this on the timer_click event: this.Height = this.Height + 5; if(this.Height -10 > ErrorsGrid.Bottom ) timer1.Stop(); It kind of works but still not perfect. For example it lags at the very beginning, stop a like a second and then start moving it...So now with this idea in mind what alterations do you suggest I should do to make this thing look and work better?

  • JQuery validation using is() and multiple CSS classes

    - by Alex
    Hi Folks, Trying to debug something that basically .trim()'s, .val()'s and .length's a textarea input as HTML below (truncated): <form id="Kontaktanfrage" method="post" action="tests/testform/"> ... <textarea cols="50" rows="8" id="el_12" name="FORM[Kontaktanfrage][el_12]" title="Ihre Nachricht: *" class="textarea required"></textarea> ... </form> JavaScript: function validateField(formId, fieldId) { if (fieldId) { var element = "form#"+formId+" input#"+fieldId; var fieldValue = jQuery.trim(jQuery(element).val()); var fieldLength = fieldValue.length; var fieldError = ""; if ($(element).is('.textarea.required') && fieldLength == 0) { fieldError = "error message"; } } } The above if check is never true. Using JQuery: 1.4.1. Having seen other examples online, I can't see what the difference should be. Feel free to test it in FireBug at (http://www.initiat.de/tests/testform/). Any help appreciated, can't see what I'm doing wrong.

  • Close child form if already open

    - by j-t-s
Hi All How can I go about closing a Child form if it's already open? And if it isn't already open, then open it? Thank you I already have this code, which doesn't work, obviously: Form ibx = new inbox(); if(ibx.Visible) ibx.Dispose(); else ibx.Show(); All that the above does is creates a new form whether or not it's already open.

  • Change form submission (enter to tab)

    - by user1298883
I have a real basic form (code below) with a bunch of back-panel PhP. There is a scanner being used to input the data, but instead of tab after each item, it sends an "enter" command. Is it viable to add javascript to cause enter to instead tab to the next form field, and upon the last form field, submit it instead? I have found a few scripts online, but none that I have tried have worked in Firefox/Chrome. CODE: <html><head><title>Barcode Generation</title></head><body> <fieldset style="width: 300px;"> <form action="generator.php" method="post"> Invoice Number:<input type="text" name="invoice" /><br /> Model Number:<input type="text" name="model" /><br /> Serial Number:<input type="text" name="serial" /><br /> <input type="hidden" name="reload" value="true" /> <input type="submit" /> </form><br /><a href=null>en espanol</a></fieldset> </body></html>

  • Cross domain javascript form filling, reverse proxy

    - by Michel van Engelen
I need a javascript form filler that can bypass the 'same origin policy' most modern browsers implement. I made a script that opens the desired website/form in a new browser. With the handler, returned by the window.open method, I want to retrieve the inputs with theWindowHandler.document.getElementById('inputx') and fill them (access denied). Is it possible to solve this problem by using Isapi Rewrite (official site) in IIS 6 acting like a reverse proxy? If so, how would I configure the reverse proxy? This is how far I got: RewriteEngine on RewriteLogLevel 9 LogLevel debug RewriteRule CarChecker https://the.actualcarchecker.com/CheckCar.aspx$1 [NC,P] The rewrite works, http://ourcompany.com/ourapplication/CarChecker, as evident in the logging. From within our companysite I can run the carchecker as if it was in our own domain. Except, the 'same origin policy' is still in force. Regards, Michel

  • Creating a new Active Directory account with an InfoPath form

    - by ryan
I am setting up a business partner portal in our Sharepoint server. There will be an AD group with permissions limited to viewing and possibly contributing to the specific business partner site and employees of our business partners will have accounts created for them as needed. Now we would like to let our business development group(BDG) have control over the partner accounts. Ideally they should be able to add and delete accounts and change permissions on them. The BDG are not domain admins so we don't want to give them access to the domain controller. We want to create an Infopath form that will allow them to do all this. Is it possible to create and manage AD accounts from within an Infopath form on the sharepoint server? I searched this site and MSDN and can not find anything specifically related to my question.
