    Hi, Does anybody know a full text search engine like dtsearch that has an encrypted index files? We were having problem because our application is hosted on cloud. And we have an agreement with the clients that all files on the cloud must be encrypted. However, the generated index files on dt search can be read as plain text. Any ideas?

    i have a rails app which makes heavy use of activeresource and httparty to make api calls. Is there any library/extension to log the requests and parse them, so that log analysis becomes easier and automated. RailsLogAnalyser is good but what about extra calls, what are the conventions? Something like a opensource/self-hosted alternative to newrelic, but with extensions to plug in your own logging.

    Hi, I have a winform application calling web services hosted in IIS, by default, the client app will use Kerberose for authentication to IIS, and it failed for some reasons? But the same app works fine at another PC(with different user login), and I found it is using NTLM by checking the IIS server event log. is there anyway we can change the client app(winform) authentication type?     I've used mime_content_type() and File info but i never successed. i want to use now cURL and get the headers of the file which is hosted on another domain then determine if the type is MP3 or not.     I am trying to download a page using Silverlight 4 (http://google.com/) from a different domain than where the app is hosted. I'm simply curious if this is possible in the browser. I know I can do it out of the browser, as I tried it already, but trying it in the browser gives a security exception (understandable). I'd like to know if this can even be done, and if so, how?     Scenario : I have a PHP Forum and a Asp.Net site hosted on Linux and MS Hosting respectively (obvious right?!). My domain ABC.com is currently configured with PHP host whereas my ASP.Net site is using the default 1and1 generated URL (s0987465.onlinehome.us). So my question is, how to display ABC.com for any URL that includes s0987465.onlinehome.us? Example : s0987465.onlinehome.us/test.aspx?id=100 should display ABC.com or ABC.com/test.aspx?id=100 in the address bar by displaying content generated by s0987465.onlinehome.us?

  • An Unexpected HTTP Error occurred during the API request in wordpress

    Hey guys I get this error on my wordpress blog hosted on my server each time i search for plugins or try to upgrade wordpress and on the dashboard. I have tried changing the timeout from 5 to 30 in the http.php file in wp-includes. This did NOT help. My blog works perfectly fine. This problem is really annoying as I have to manuall copy plugins and themes and upgrades.

    Very strange, I have a list of products. When a user clicks on an the image it opens up a new IE window. Firefox doesn't do this. What could be the reason for this? the urls are: http://website.example.com and clicking on the image goes to (which is hosted on another server): http://store.website.example.com Could this be some internal security measure or ?

    Hi, Is there no way for javascript hosted on a webserver to read a file on a client's local machine? (this has obvious security risks). I guess I'm wondering if there's any access granting a user can do, like drag and dropping a file into the browser, or explicitly selecting a file from a popup to get around this? I know flash 10 allows reading of a local file, just wondering if there were any method to do this in javascript. Thanks

    I'd like to run an app in a restricted private beta on heroku. We're changing the app regularly and haven't done a security audit. To stop anyone exploiting stuff, we'd like to lock down the whole site, so you need a password to access anything. Ideally similar to using .htaccess and .htpasswd files to lock an entire site on an Apache server. Is there a simple one shot way to do this for a heroku hosted app?

    We've got a PHP crawler running on our web server. When the crawler is running, there are no cpu, memory or network bandwidth spikes. Everything is normal. But our website (also PHP), hosted on the same server, stops responding. Basically the crawler blocks any other php script from running. What could be the problem?
