  • Hablamos de Formación en la Conferencia Total Training en Lisboa

    El pasado 22 de Octubre se celebro en Lisboa la 2ª Edición del Total Training Conference, la feria de la formación en la empresa de Portugal. Este año contó con la participación de cerca de 90 profesionales de los Recursos Humanos y se trataron los temas de mayor interés para los departamentos de formación de las empresas. ¿De qué se habló en la conferencia? Los ejes principales de las ponencias estuvieron centrados en la combinación de formación presencial y elearning, para sacar el máximo provecho de los presupuestos de formación y utilizar el medio adecuado para impactar de la manera más efectiva en los alumnos, ya estemos tratando de inculcar valores o comportamientos o simplemente transmitiendo una serie de conocimientos que tienen que ser utilizados en el día a día. Tambien se trato de los aspectos de aprendizajes informales, también conocidos como social learning, o cómo podemos transformar a nuestros empleados en profesores de sus compañeros resolviendo necesidades puntuales, pero a veces críticas.   • Recommended total system backup solution

    I hope this question won't get closed immediately since it has a generic title. I already searched a bit around the answers here, but nothing satisfied me. I want a back-up solution that makes a total back-up, so that I can restore my Ubuntu in case of major failures, like HDD failing. As far as I can see, I have 2 choices: 1) Backing up with Deja Dup to an external disk. This is fine and I am already doing, but in case my HDD fails, and I make a new Ubuntu install on a new disk, will Deja Dup be able to restore all my setting and stuff from the backed up files? If it can, then what other files/folders should I add in Deja Dup to back-up (currently I have set only the recommended /home folder)? Is there a point in telling Deja Dup to back-up everything under "/" ? 2) A disk/partition cloning software. This would be something similar to Noton ghost. Is there such a software with nice GUI that you could recommend for Ubuntu? And even better, it would be nice if Ubuntu's liveCD could recognize such a clone at install step. I am using 11.10

  • Eclipse version in Debian package directories too old. Alternatives to manual install?

    Ian Murdock, the founder of Debian, has commented that package management is "the single biggest advancement Linux has brought to the industry". (Wikipedia) But for some reason I'm forced to install eclipse manually if I want the most recent version, rather than the ancient eclipse 3.5.2 from the Debian package directories. Why? Is there a more convenient way to get the newer version? (I know the manual install is very little work, but I still think it should be unnecessary)

  • Android SDK and AVD manager will not run from Eclipse after upgrade to SDK 5 and ADT 0.9.6

    Using Windows 7, 64 bit system. Prior to upgrade I was able to run "Android SDK and AVD manager" from Eclipse via a tool bar icon and menu option, both of which still exist. However now nothing happens when I try to run the manager. As a result I can't start an emulator from within Eclipse. When I use Eclipse to run an Android app, the first emulator I installed is automatically started. Using Windows Explorer, I can still run the manager from the SDK directory in which the update was applied (the update didn't change the location of the SDK). If I run the manager and start multiple emulators and then Run an app from Eclipse, it sees the emulators and allows me to choose one as before. This is a satisfactory work-around, but it would be nice if the manager were fully integrated into Eclipse as it was before.

I have an existing (Java) project in Eclipse, but I can't figure out how to turn on mercurial change tracking for this existing project. It seems I can do an import of a mercurial project (File Import Mercurial Clone ...), but that's only for new Eclipse projects... Of course, I can apply Mercurial via the command line, e.g. hg init in the project directory, but this doesn't get picked up in Eclipse. So, how do I turn on Mercurial for existing Eclipse projects?

  • How to ignore/prevent javadoc folder from validation during Eclipse Build?

    In my war is a huge javadoc folder. There is no point in validating it since javadocs are produced by Sun(Oracle) javadoc utility. I have forgotten how I did it the last time. I need to tell Eclipse build not to validate that particular folder. Reasons why I need it: 1. the html produced by Sun javadoc generation utility does not meet the requirement that Eclipse uses - there is a bug report in Eclipse but Eclipse responds that Sun javadoc generator non-compliance is not their fault and that Eclipse intends to stick to their strict compliance. Which results in lots of html errors listed in the problems tab. 2. the javadoc folder is a remote link and high activity on that link is using up my cpu resource, and because it is a link to a remote location, that cpu high activity is sustained for long time until it finishes scanning the whole 35MB javadocs. Thanks - need help.

  • How do I tell eclipse to auto-generate or retain stubs when it starts and does a clean build?

    I'm working on a Java application that uses JavaSpace. We're developing this in Eclipse. There are a couple instances where we are inserting code into the JavaSpace to do some more advanced space notification logic. Doing this requires that we generate stubs for the classes used within the JavaSpace. We use an external script to generate these stubs. The problem is that whenever Eclipse restarts, it does a clean build of the whole application. When it does this, it deletes all the stubs and we have to regenerate them. I would like to find a way to either tell Eclipse not to remove the _stub.class and _skel.class files within the bin folder where the .class files are placed. Either that, or somehow teach Eclipse to generate the stub files whenever it does a rebuild (and I suppose whenever the source files from which the stubs are generated changes). How can I do one of these, so that we don't have to manually build the stubs every time we start up Eclipse?

So I understand that there isn't a freely available version of the server adapter for WAS 6.1/7.0, so by now I have been doing a lot of stuff manually, but I'm wondering (after getting tired of this), what is doing other people using Eclipse + WAS6.1/7.0? Are you also doing stuff manually? Have you find an alternative to make things easier when working with Eclipse and you want to deploy or interact with WAS? (I know some of you will say: create your Ant scripts and run them from Eclipse... that's not what I want, I already have that). Currently I'm using Eclipse 3.5 (aka Galileo). Thanks.

  • Where does Eclipse save the list of files to open on startup?

    Question: where does Eclipse store the list of files it opens on startup? Background: Having installed a plugin into Eclipse which promptly crashed, my Eclipse workspace is in a bit of a state. When started, the building workspace task pauses indefinitely at 20%. Before I uninstall the plugin I want to give it another chance. I have a feeling that the reason Eclipse is pausing is because of a file which was opened when it crashed, which it tries to reopen on startup. If I can stop this file from opening on startup there's a chance I may be able to coax the plugin to behave. The problem is I have no idea where that list of files is persisted between runs of Eclipse. ...a second before I posted this question, I realised I could just delete the file causing the problem (duh). However, the search has frustrated me enough to want to find the answer.

I can also define parameters under the Command element in the menus extension point when defining menu contributions. I can define a value for the parameter here. Are the command parameters in Command different from parameters in menu contributions? If they are different how are they different?

The order is mandantory because it is a huge database and I want to have an output of a small portion of the database in a jface tableview. Trying to reorder it in the loading/quering thread takes too long and ordering it in the LabelProvider blocks the UI thread too much time, so I thought if Eclipselink could be used that way, that the database will order it, it might give me the performance I need.   • Blackberry Eclispe plugin and emulator

    So I installed the following installation packages to develop Blackberry apps using the included emulators. I first installed them on a macbook pro, virtualizing windows 7 x86 with vmware. Everything worked fine, I created a quick HelloWorld app and it compiled and fully ran in the emulator. I did no other configuration. So I went to install this on my desktop PC with Windows 7 x64. I installed the exact same items. When I choose to run with the Blackberry Emulator, nothing happens. Any ideas?     I have a View which extends a View provided by another plugin like this; public class View2 extends some.other.package.View1 { public void createPartControl(Composite parent) { super.createPartControl(parent); //I want to do this, but I can't because its private //getSite().setSelectionProvider(treeViewer); } } But I can't edit the super class, so I need to access the viewer from the Control. public class some.other.package.View1 extends ViewPart { private TreeViewer treeViewer; public void createPartControl(Composite parent) { treeViewer = new TreeViewer(parent, SWT.V_SCROLL); } } I tried using parent.getChildren(); to get a Tree object, but I can't see that it can be cooerced into an ISElectionProvider as required

  • Using ECF shared editing with Python

    I can use the shared editing feature of ECF with Java fine perfectly fine. When I try to do it with Python files it also works, but there is no syntax highlighting. I installed PyDev to get syntax highlighting, but then the context menu does not have the "share editor" option. I removed PyDev and the option came back. I installed Dynamic Languages Toolkit in hopes that its Python syntax highlighting was compatible and I got the same effect (context menu lacks the "share editor" option). Is there a way to have a shared editing session with Python files and syntax highlighting?

  • No class def find error

    I have the following piece of code which helps me to read the paths of all the files in a directory and its subdirectories : File dir = new File("directory path"); try { System.out.println("Getting all files in " + dir.getCanonicalPath() + " including those in subdirectories"); } catch (IOException e1) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e1.printStackTrace(); } List<File> files = (List<File>) FileUtils.listFiles(dir, TrueFileFilter.INSTANCE, TrueFileFilter.INSTANCE); for (File file : files) { try { System.out.println("file: " + file.getCanonicalPath()); } catch (IOException e1) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e1.printStackTrace(); } } The problem is that I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/commons/io/filefilter/TrueFileFilter error. I've imported the necessary libraries. I mention that I work on a plugin project. This code runs in a class with main function. I don't understand why it gave me this error. Thank you !
