• iPad modal form sheet takes up the whole screen anyways

  I'm trying to create a form sheet modal on iPad, which should be a 540x620 modal view. I've created a view controller with a NIB file whose view is a 540x620 sized UIView (with stuff on it). I set the modal presentation style to UIModalPresentationFormSheet, and call presentModalViewController:animated: on the current view controller. My view slides in from the bottom, but instead of being a form sheet, it takes up the whole screen (my view elements are all anchored in the top left of the screen). Even stranger, when I dismiss it, all the UI that was "underneath" it, is all re-layed out to be in the center, in approximately a form sheet sized area in the center of the screen. Bizarro! Anyone have any suggestions as to what could cause this behavior? Thanks.

What I want is, the gray background till the word "Header", not more than that (Background color is just an example. This is not only the case.).

• Adding an ActionScript eventListener that takes the whole sprite

  Hello, I have a very simple constructor in ActionScript as the following: public function ButtonTest() { this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, browseFiles); } My problem is that when I open the SWF file itself, the window is not full size and the whole area responds to the mouse click. If I expand the window to full size, a margin of like 200 pixels on the left is not clickable. I hope I make some sense. The issue is that I had the .SWF file in a in my HTML code, and when I make it small, it seems that only the center of the SWF file is clickable. I hope someone can please help me. Thank you, Rudy

  hello! i have a store model, this will handle my leaflet and my shoppingcart for my shop. now i d´like to show all items added from an user to his leaflet in the index of store. in the store an user can change the quantity of the choosen items. and now i want to save that the changes of the different quantities in the database with one click on a button "update store". so how could i implement an update over the whole index with one click? i´d like to do this with ajax and most dynamically. somebody has an idea? i render all items into a form so far, but now i have the problem, when i submit this form only the last quantity and item id are included in the params. further i pushed every quantity into an array and i want to submit this also as a param. but i could not. please give me some tips, will be very fine :) mattherick

• Rounding Decimals to whole numbers

  I was looking around and could not find exactly what I was looking for. I want to round all my numbers up to the whole number. Example: 5.9 would be 6 5.5 would be 6 5.1 would be 6 5.000001122 would be 6 5.0 would be 5 I was thinking if I put them into ints that would get rid of the decimal but it did not look right as the decimals were just dropping off. Am I correct here? So I thought about just doing that then adding 1 to the final result which would fix about 99% of the problem but if my result is 5 I do not want to add 1 to it. How would I go about fixing this issue I have?

  I'm using CL-Lex to implement a lexer (as input for CL-YACC) and my language has several keywords such as "let" and "in". However, while the lexer recognizes such keywords, it does too much. When it finds words such as "init", it returns the first token as IN, while it should return a "CONST" token for the "init" word. This is a simple version of the lexer: (define-string-lexer lexer (...) ("in" (return (values :in $@))) ("[a-z]([a-z]|[A-Z]|\_)" (return (values :const $@)))) How do I force the lexer to fully read the whole word until some whitespace appears?

• Jquery UI Dialog Weird Behavior in Firefox - Whole screen becomes non-clickable on second overlay

  I have two links that show up two modal dialogs. These dialogs are static divs in the html of the page with their own ids. When I click the first link, the first dialog shows up and behaves correctly. But when I click the second link, the whole screen grays out and everything becomes unclickable, including the second dialog. It happens also the other way around, clicking the second link, and then the first link. This problems occurs only in Firefox but not in IE. Any ideas why this is happening in Firefox?

• Rebuild whole page on callback?

  Hello, In asp.net is it a requirement to rebuild the whole page during every callback? For example my web page is split into three distinct areas and I have an update panel for each area. Lets say I want to update the third area, do I have to bother with any processing of the other two areas? For example lets say there is a grid view in area two. • Command line mode only -- successful login only brings me back to login screen

  whenever I log in the screen goes black, I see a glimpse of terminal-esque text, and then it brings me back to the log in screen (Ubuntu 12.04). I can enter and log in via the command line. The guest account works find. I think this happened because I edited some Xorg related file trying to make an external monitor work with my laptop. I copy pasted from a forum post so I dont recall the file or what i put in the file. Can't find the forum post again and my bash history wasn't recorded from that session. I tried reinstalling Xorg and ubuntu-desktop, nvidia, resetting any configs I could find... I'm really at a loss of what to do. • Android - Create a custom multi-line ListView bound to an ArrayList

  The Android HelloListView tutorial shows how to bind a ListView to an array of string objects, but you'll probably outgrow that pretty quickly. This post will show you how to bind the ListView to an ArrayList of custom objects, as well as create a multi-line ListView. Let's say you have some sort of search functionality that returns a list of people, along with addresses and phone numbers. We're going to display that data in three formatted lines for each result, and make it clickable. First, create your new Android project, and create two layout files. Main.xml will probably already be created by default, so paste this in: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"  android:orientation="vertical"  android:layout_width="fill_parent"   android:layout_height="fill_parent">  <TextView   android:layout_height="wrap_content"   android:text="Custom ListView Contents"   android:gravity="center_vertical|center_horizontal"   android:layout_width="fill_parent" />   <ListView    android:id="@+id/ListView01"    android:layout_height="wrap_content"    android:layout_width="fill_parent"/> </LinearLayout> Next, create a layout file called custom_row_view.xml. This layout will be the template for each individual row in the ListView. • Configuring gmail for use on mailing lists

  This is really two questions in one. First, are nettiquette guidelines still accurate in their restrictions on ASCII vs. HTML, posting style, and line length? (Here's a recent metafilter discussion of the topic.) Second, If they are not, should these guidelines be respected? If they are (or if they should still be respected), how can modern mail programs be configured to work properly with them? Most mailing list etiquette statements appear to have been written by sysadmins who loved their command lines, and refuse to change anything. Many still reference rfc1855, written in 1995. Just reading that paginated TXT should give you an idea of the climate at the time. Here's a short, fairly random list of mailing list etiquette statements with some extracted formatting guidelines: Mozilla - HTML discouraged, interleaved posting. FreeBSD - No HTML, don't top post, line length at 75 characters. Fedora - No HTML, bottom-post. You get the idea. You've all seen etiquette statements before. So, assuming that the rules should be obeyed (Usually a good idea), what can be done to allow me to still use a modern mail program, and exchange mail with friends who use the same programs? We like to format our mail. Bold headings, code snippets (sometimes syntax highlighted, if the copy-paste pulls RTF text as from XCOde and Eclipse), free line breaks determined by your browser width, and the (very) occasional image make the message easier to read. Threaded conversations are a wonderful thing. Broadband connections are, I'm sure, the rule for most of the users of SU and of developer mailing lists, disk space is cheap, and so the overhead of HTML is laughable. However, I don't want to post a question to a mailing list and have the guru who can answer my question automatically delete it, or come off as uncaring. Until I hear otherwise, I'll continue to respect the rules as best I can. For a common example of the problem, Gmail, by default, sends HTML formatted messages with bottom-posted quotes (which are folded in, just read the last message immediately above), and uses the frame width to wrap lines, rather than a character count. ASCII can be selected, and quotes can be moved and reversed, but line wraps of quotes don't work, line breaks are tedious to add (and more tedious to read, if they're super small in comparison to the width of the frame). Is there a forwarding, free mail program which can help with this exercise? Should an "RFC1855 mode" lab be written? Or do I have to go to the command line for my mailing lists, and gmail for my other mail?

• Batch file to create many files with special characters

  Essential info: I have a file "DB_OUTPUT.TXT" with 304 lines that I need to turn into 304 files (one per line). Each line contains many special characters and may be up to tens of thousands of characters long. For these reasons, I'm having difficulty using a cmd.exe batch file (which limits the amount of input) and the echo command (which would try to execute each special character, short of me having to escape them all). I also have a file "DB_OUTPUT_FILENAMES.TXT" containing a distinct filename for each line-soon-to-be-file from "db_output.txt". So line 1 of DB_OUTPUT.TXT needs to be the body of a new file with a name equal to line 1 of DB_OUTPUT_FILENAMES.TXT. Extra info: As you may have guessed, DB_OUTPUT.TXT is output from a database; it contains 304 records with 6 or 7 columns at a fixed width with the last column being a SQL query. Each of these lines (db records) will be used as a script to create new database objects, which is why the special characters need to be preserved. Question: Is there a way to do this in a batch-like fashion? I'd be happy with either a Windows solution or a Linux one.

• How can I set `less` or `more` max lines (scrollable height) limit/boundary in linux?

  (Sorry for the title. Any suggestions?) I've set my commandline PS1 to cover 3 lines: white space user, server and pwd $ or # to input I think less (or more?) is configured to break after window's height - 1, because when I do a $ git log, the first two lines are invisible at the top of the window and the rest is scrollable. I'm not sure who handles this scrolling and its configuration, but I assume GIT uses less/more. Where can I configure that my scrollable window is window height - 3 lines and not window height - 1? More info: If I cat lines.txt | less with a 23 line file, it shows the entire file and no scrolling. If I do the same with a 24 line file, it doesn't show line 1 (and no scrolling). With 25 lines: doesn't show lines 1 and 2 (and no scrolling). With 26 lines: shows line 1 and scrolling! The less breakpoint is at the wrong height...

  I have a kind of strange thing that I really nead for my text formating. Don't ask me please why I did this strange thing! ;-) So, my PHP script replaces all line foldings "\n" with one of the speacial symbol like "|". When I insert text data to database, the PHP script replaces all line foldings with the symbol "|" and when the script reads text data from the database, it replaces all special symbols "|" with line folding "\n". I want to restrict text format in the way that it will cut line foldings if there are more than 2 line foldings used in each separating texts. Here is the example of the text I want the script to format: this is text... this is text... this is text...this is text...this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... this is text... So, at the first example there is only one line folding between 2 texts and on the second example there are 3 line foldings between 2 texts.   I have the following line between my \maketitle and my \begin{abstract}: \center{ \textsc{Some text here} } This seems to cause the ENTIRE DOCUMENT to be formatted as centered. Why is this and how should I get around it? Part two: Is there a way to get some text to appear only when the [draft] option is active. For example, when the draft option is active, I want some text to appear between my title and abstract: "draft: do not cite without permission" or some such.

• GZipStream not reading the whole file

  I have some code that downloads gzipped files, and decompresses them. The problem is, I can't get it to decompress the whole file, it only reads the first 4096 bytes and then about 500 more. I've checked the downloaded file; it's 13MB when compressed, and contains one XML file. I've manually decompressed the XML file, and the content is all there. But when I do it with this code, it only outputs the very beginning of the XML file. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

  I've got an xml document that filled with people (parent node is "students", and there are 25+ "student" nodes). Each student looks like this: <student> <name></name> <surname></surname> <grades> <subject name=""> <small_grades></small_grades> <final_grade></final_grade> </subject> <subject name=""> <small_grades></small_grades> <final_grade></final_grade> </subject> </grades> <average></average> </student> Basically, what I want to do ('ve been asked to do) is to make a program that would get 3 students with the best average. While parsing the document and getting three best students isn't too difficult, the XML generation is a pain in the ass. Right now, what I'm doing is getting every single node from student and recreating it to a new file. Is there a way to copy the whole student node with everything that's in it? Regards, Paul

  Hello all, I have written an application that unit tests our hardware via a internet browser. I have command classes in the assembly that are a wrapper around individual web browser actions such as ticking a checkbox, selecting from a dropdown box as such: BasicConfigurationCommands EventConfigurationCommands StabilizationCommands and a set of test classes, that use the command classes to perform scripted tests: ConfigurationTests StabilizationTests These are then invoked via the GUI to run prescripted tests by our QA team. However, as the firmware is changed quite quickly between the releases it would be great if a developer could write an XML file that could invoke either the tests or the commands: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <testsuite> <StabilizationTests> <StressTest repetition="10" /> </StabilizationTests> <BasicConfigurationCommands> <SelectConfig number="2" /> <ChangeConfigProperties name="Weeeeee" timeOut="15000" delay="1000"/> <ApplyConfig /> </BasicConfigurationCommands> </testsuite> I have been looking at the System.Reflection class and have seen examples using GetMethod and then Invoke. This requires me to create the class object at compile time and I would like to do all of this at runtime. I would need to scan the whole assembly for the class name and then scan for the method within the class. This seems a large solution, so any information pointing me (and future readers of this post) towards an answer would be great! Thanks for reading, Matt
