• Tool to migrate a repo with only read access?

  I have a subversion repository located on our school servers from a project my friends and I worked on the past semester. We want to take the project and polish it and make it more of a portfolio item and I'm not quite sure that the repo will stay intact on the school servers (they usually wipe it after a few semesters). I don't have access to dump the repo, although I've sent an email to see if I can get one - which would be the best solution. I tried svnsync but the school server doesn't support the replay command (probably turned off), so that won't work for me. Now, theoretically, wouldn't it be possible to (manually or programmatically) checkout each revision of the repository and check it in to a new repository on our own server? I think it would work - there's only 3 of us, and there's no working copy conflicts that we'd have to worry about, just want a copy of all the history in the repo in case we need to go back and look at it. That being said, before I go and reinvent a wheel by writing a script to do it - does something like this already exist? I have to figure there's already a tool to do it, or that someone has wrote a script to do it.

It doesn't happen, I get "2" when clicking on either. After spending an hour meditating on the code, I decided that it probably happens because dynamic onclick methods for both anchors keep the last value of "i". So I change that loop to for (var i in buttons) { var local_i = i.toString() actions[buttons[i]] = function() { alert(local_i) } } hoping that each dynamic function will get its own copy of "i" with immediate value. But after this change I get "1" popping up when I click on either link. What am I doing wrong? It's a huge show stopper for me.

• OpenOffice Calc Macro: Run shell command and return output as result of custom function

  I would like to write a custom OpenOffice function that runs a shell command and puts the result into the cell from which it was invoked. I have a basic macro working, but I can't find a way to capture the command's output. Function MyTest( c1 ) MyTest = Shell("bash -c "" echo hello "" ") End Function The above always returns 0. Looking at the documentation of the Shell command, I don't think it actually returns STDOUT. How would I capture the output so that I can return it in my function? Thanks!

• Subversion commands not being run by Ubuntu rc.local

I did find however that if I do a checkout beforehand, and set the rc.local svn command to an svn update, that it still does not run the svn command but does output apache2 restart successfully. These same svn commands work perfectly when I run them manually, tho it's strange that within rc.local they do not produce any output whatsoever to logger yet apache2 restart does. I've also tried running the svn co and svn update both with sudo -u and without. How do I get the svn command to run? Either a full checkout or an update. At this point either would be better than nothing!

• Is it possible in Perl to require a subroutine call is made?

  I don't know enough about Perl to even know what I'm asking for exactly, but I'm writing a series of subroutines to be available for many individual scripts that all process different incoming flat files. The process is far from perfect, but it's what I've got to deal with and I'm trying to build myself a small library of subs that make it easier for me to manage it all. Each script handles a different incoming flat file with it's own formatting, sorting, grouping and outputting requirements. One common aspect is that we have small text files that house counters that are used to name the output files so that we have no duplicate file names. Because the processing of the data is different for each file, I need to open the file to get my counter value, because this is a common operation, I'd like to put it in a sub to retrieve the counter. But then need to write specific code to process the data. And would like a second sub that allows me to update the counter with the counter once I've processed the data. Is there a way to make the second sub call a requirement if the first one is called? Ideally if it could even be an error that would prevent the script from running at all much like a syntax error. • ASP Force Download

  In PHP I can do: header("Content-type: application/octet-stream") and then anything that I output is downloaded instead of showing in the browser. Is there a similar way to do this in ASP? I have seen about all the file streaming and such using ADODB.Stream, but that doesn't seem to work for me and always requires another file to load the content from. Bit of an ASP noob, so go easy on me. :p All I want to do is have a script that outputs a CSV and that will force download instead of showing in the browser.   So i realized today that using IE to do a search on my site, for instance the term "documents" returns the search results. if i use FireFox or Chrome the data in the input field is not recognized... now i looked at the code, and realized that there are no tags around the input fields... • How to make NSIS create a file in an %APPDATA% of another user?

  I wrote an NSIS installer script for postgresql 9.1. The installer works properly, but after the reboot, the service is not started (right after the install, the database started properly though) I guess this is because the postgres service user has no pgpass.conf file in its %APPDATA%. As far as I understand my install script, the pgpass.conf file is added to the %APPDATA% of the user running the installer (an administrator account in my case). This will not help. I tried the following, to add the pgpass.conf to all users, bt I guess this adds it to a kind of wildcard, not to the %APPDATA% of each user : SetShellVarContext "all" SetOutPath "$APPDATA\postgresql" File config\pgpass.conf SetShellVarContext "current" SetOutPath "$APPDATA\postgresql" File config\pgpass.conf I couldn't find the macro name for c:/Users/postgres in the documentation. This could be a way to achieve it. But with WindowsXP, 7, I wish I need a portable way to address the /Users directory. I wish I could use something like SetShellVarContext "postgres", and then have NSIS write the pgpass.conf file in c:\Users\postgres\AppData\postgresql. Is there a way to do this ? Thnk you !

• drupal themes: how do I include several css files / js files on my theme's .info file?

  I'm creating a new Drupal theme. Until now, I only needed to include a single css file and a single js file. So my theme.info file had something like this: stylesheets[all][] = css/style.css scripts[] = js/script.js Now I must include jquery and jquery-ui in order to use a calendar date. These come with 2 new javascript files, and 1 additonal css file that I must add to the site. The calendar input form is going to be used in all pages (on a side block) so it is ok for me to load the extra css/javascript on all pages. I think the easiest thing would be to reference them on the .info file itself. At first I tried to just put them there with separate spaces: stylesheets[all][] = css/style.css css/ui-lightness/jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.css scripts[] = js/script.js js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js js/jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.min.js I emptied drupal's cache and... none of them loaded. I then tried separating each file with a comma, and flushing the cache again. Same result. I've browsed some drupal pages, but could not find how to add several javascript/css files on one theme (they always seem to add just 1 of each). So, how do I include several css/javascript files on the .info file?

• Ajax Request not working. onSuccess and onFailure not triggering

  Hi all, trying to make a page which will recursively call a function until a limit has been reached and then to stop. It uses an ajax query to call an external script (which just echo's "done" for now) howver with neither onSuccess or onFailure triggering i'm finding it hard to find the problem. Here is the javascript for it. In the header for the webpage there is a script to an ajax.js document which contains the request data. • In Perl v 5.10.1 on Windows, my variable loses it's value

  I hope this is something straightforward that I'm doing wrong. I saw something online about "variable suicide" that looked good, but it was for an older version and I'm on 5.10.1. Anyway - a variable that I declared - $RootDirectory - just suddenly loses it's value, and I can't figure out why. Here's a script to reproduce the problem. When I run through the script in debug mode (perl -d) I can get it to print out the $RootDirectory at line 21 and 26. • PHP mail() function not delivering mail

  Hi there, I have a slight problem. I am using a working script (works on my testing account - shared server) to send a mail through PHP using the mail() function. I just got a dedicated server, and I haven't been able to get the function to work. I've spent the last 10 or so hours reading various documentations on BIND (for the SPF record), dovecot, sendmail and postfix trying various things to get this to work. There is clearly something that I am missing. So we know the PHP code works fine. All the headers are fine everything. We know this as it's a direct copy from my testing account. So the problem must arise somewhere in the server config. The path to sendmail is correct, and sendmail is (apparently) working fine. I've set up the script to now deliver "Sent" or "Error" based on the boolean result from the PHP mail() function. That is: if(mail($blah,$blah,$blah,$blah,$blah)) { echo "Sent"; } else { echo "Error";} And the result ALWAYS comes up as "Sent" - however, the email never arrives. Can someone suggest things to check, as I'm completely new to this (24 hours or so!). Thanks in advance. Ryan

• Git doesn't sync files until committed, even if checked out in a different branch

  Okay, I have git 1.7.11.1 on Windows and I have a local test repository with 2 branches. One is master with index.php and help.php. I then create another branch called slave :) I run from git bash rm help.php and it disappears from the folder, but I don't stage anything. I switch to checkout master branch and it is supposed to restore file help.php because it is not modified in the master branch, isn't it? And it does not do it. When I go back to the slave branch and commit and then switch to checkout master then help.php appears. Is that the way it is supposed to to work? Why?

  I'm trying to extract the price from the bellow html page/link using php cURL and preg_match . Basically I'm expecting for this code to output 4,550 but for some reasons I get Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in C:\wamp\www\test.php on line 22 I think that the pattern is correct because if I put the html itself in a variable and escape the "" it works ! . Also if I output (echo $result;) it displays the html properly grabbed from foxtons website so I just can't figure it out why the whole thing doesn't work . • Qt on Mac: where to find "configure"

  hi, I am very new to Mac. I downloaded QT SDK Mac Open source (http://get.qt.nokia.com/qtsdk/qt-sdk-mac-opensource-2010.02.dmg) and installed the Package. I can run qmake, build samples and run demos, but I cannot run configure (in order to build the Qt libraries statically). It says: -bash: No such file or directory. Documentation says I should run this in the "Qt root folder", but what is this folder in Mac? I looked for it in /usr/bin, /usr/local/Qt4.6, /Developer/Tools/Qt.
