    I continue to work on a printer for F# quoted expressions, it doesn't have to be perfect, but I'd like to see what is possible. The active patterns in Microsoft.FSharp.Quotations.Patterns and Microsoft.FSharp.Quotations.DerivedPatterns used for decomposing quoted expressions will typically provide MemberInfo instances when appropriate, these can be used to obtain the name of a property, function, etc. and their "declaring" type, such as a module or static class. The problem is, I only know how to obtain the CompiledName from these instances but I'd like the F# name. For example, > <@ List.mapi (fun i j -> i+j) [1;2;3] @> |> (function Call(_,mi,_) -> mi.DeclaringType.Name, mi.Name);; val it : string * string = ("ListModule", "MapIndexed") How can this match be rewritten to return ("List", "mapi")? (Person.ID, Name,Address) :: Designation.(Designation.ID, Title, Band) :: SalarySlip (Person.ID, Designation.ID, totalIncome, Tax etc etc.) In the update method the person controller when I assign a person a designation from a list of designation values I want to insert a new record inside SalarySlip. Something like: def update = { def SalarySlipInstance = new SalarySlip() SalarySlipInstance.Person.ID = Params.ID //is this correct?     I almost have this solved but need a little push. Here's what I have: In the database I have a field called active that is a bit field (True/False) I have placed a dropdownlist on the View form like this: <%= Html.DropDownList("lstActive", new SelectList((IEnumerable)ViewData["ActiveList"])) %> In my controller, I simply have this code to generate the True/False in the dropdown: List<string> activeList = new List<string>(); activeList.Add("True"); activeList.Add("False"); ViewData["ActiveList"] = new SelectList(activeList); I want to bind to the field in the database called active and select it in the dropdown. When I view it like this I get this: So the questions are these: Obviously I am not pointing to the Value and Text property but what is that in this case? And how do I select the value that is in the database? Any help would be appreciated.

    When mapping a HasMany or HasManyToMany in fluent nhibernate, you can specify the column name to use for the list as a parameter to the AsList() method as follows: HasMany(c => c.Customers) .AsList(c => c.Column("PositionIndex")); I would prefer to be able to set this using a Fluent NHibernate convention (either a pre-existing one, or a custom one), especially since the default name appears to be "Index" which is a reserved word in MSSQL. I've tried using a custom convention implementing IHasManyConvention, but the instance parameter does not seem to contain the information about whether its a list, a bag, or a set, and also does not contain the column details for the index column. public void Apply(IOneToManyCollectionInstance instance) { } Any ideas?

    suppose I have a list of coordinates: data = [[(10, 20), (100, 120), (0, 5), (50, 60)], [(13, 20), (300, 400), (100, 120), (51, 62)]] and I want to take all tuples that either appear in each list in data, or any tuple that differs from all tuples in lists other than its own by 3 or less. How can I do this efficiently in Python? For the above example, the results should be: [[(100, 120), # since it occurs in both lists (10, 20), (13, 20), # since they differ by only 3 (50, 60), (51, 60)]] (0, 5) and (300, 400) would not be included, since they don't appear in both lists and are not different from elements in lists other than their own by 3 or less. how can this be computed? thanks.

  • Is C# compiler not reporting all errors at once at each compile?

    When I am compiling this project, it show like 400+ errors in the Error List window, then I go to error sites, fix some, and the number goes to say 120+ errors, and then after fixing some more, the next compile reports like 400+ again. I can see that different files are coming in in the Error List window, so I am thinking the compiler aborts after a certain number of errors? If so, what's the reason for this? Is it not supposed to gather all the errors that are present in the project even if they are over 10K+?

  • Getting service unavailable message when sending messages to google xmpp using wokkel

    Hi, I made a wokkel (twisted python) bot to send and receive messages from the google xmpp service. Everything (auth, presence) etc works fine. One of the rquirements of our prject is that we need to send broadcast messages to everyone in the list. Normal messages and replies work fin, but when i snd a broadcast message, i get this service unavailable error 503 message. There are about 1000 user in my contact list. Is this some bug in the code or is it google policy to prevent rapid messaging. Also, how do other google bots cater to a large contact base ? does google provide a commercial solution for such applications ? Thanks

I am building out an application in GAE and need to generate a report that contains the values for a user-defined subset of fields. For example, in my db model, CrashReport, I have the following fields: entry_type entry_date instance_id build_id crash_text machine_info I present a user with the above list as a checkbox group from which they select. Whichever fields the user selects, I then create a report showing all the values in the datastore, but only for the fields that they selected. For example, if from the above list, the user selects the build_id and crash_text fields, the output might look like this: build_id crash_text 0.8.2 blown gasket 0.8.2 boom! 0.8.1 crack! ... So the question is, how exactly do I only access the values for the fields which the user has defined?

I have to work with an application in C++ similar to a phone book: the class Agenda with an STL list of Contacts.Regarding the contacts hierarchy,there is a base-class named Contact(an abstract one),and the derived classes Friend and Acquaintance(the types of contact). These classes have,for instance, a virtual method called getName,which returns the name of the contact. Now I must implement the Composite pattern by adding another type of contact,Company(being derived from Contact),which also contains a collection of Contacts(an STL list as well),that can be either of the "leaf" type(Friends or Acquaintances),or they can be Companies as well. Therefore,Company is the Compound type. The question is: how and where can I implement an STL find_if to search the contact with a given name(via getName function or suggest me smth else) both among the "leaf"-type Contact and inside the Company collection? In other words,how do I traverse the tree in order to find possible matches there too,using an uniform function definition? I hope I was pretty clear...

    Hey I have a problem with my LINQ to Entity model many to mant relation. I am new to both C# and LINQ, so bear with me. I have a model containing pictures and tags, where each picture can have many tags, and each tag can be on many pictures. In the db there is a normal relation table, but in the object model I see it as picture.tags (as a list) and tag.pictures (as a list). A search query contains several tags, and the result of the search is to contain all pictures that are tagged with all the tags (but maybe more) I have searched for. The number of tags to search for is not fixed. How can this best be done?

    With Ubuntu 12.04 and wine 1.4 unlike ubuntu 11.04 with wine 1.2.2 installed application start menu links are missing. For instance with Ubuntu 11.04 including Wine I can install one of our Windows applications and then can go to Applications Wine Programs Semantic Designs TestCoverage Documentation to bring up the documentation for how to run our tool. Unfortunately with Ubuntu 12.04 the Applications menu is gone and going to Dash I do see "Recent Apps and more apps" but my installed Wine application and related documentation link is shown present, even though the wine uninstaller shows in present. I found this online suggestion and tried using the gnome "main menu"... Windows key to launch the Dash. Enter "Main Menu" in the search field and open the old Edit Main Menu app. Select the Category (aka Unity Dash Filter) you want the item in. Name the Dash/Launcher Item Add the Command to launch said app With "mainmenu" then get down to the TestCoverage Documentation and I could see a command link in properties of .. env WINEPREFIX="/home/sdtest/.wine" wine C:\windows\command\start.exe /Unix /home/sdtest/.wine/dosdevices/c:/users/sdtest/Start\ Menu/Programs/Semantic\ Designs/Test\ Coverage/Java\ 1.7\ Documentation.lnk BUT I could not execute this link to view the installed documentation. So I copied the link properties into a file, set it as executable, and ran it as a bash script and the documentation came up! So why can't I use this link under main menu?

    I'm new to java and I wonder if there is simple way to know flow like the following of object creation, I'm using eclipse and when I write new ObjectInputStream and press CTRL+SPACE. I don't see any option that I can enter new BufferedInputStream (I have copied the code from example) and than to create new object for FileInputStream etc. in = new ObjectInputStream(new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("emp.dat"))); List temp = (List)in.readObject(); I give that example since this is the first time that I saw this kind of creation new object flow and I want to use some best practice for the next times.

    Hi, Does anyone know of a very basic tag JQuery script? (Facebook like tag feature) All I want to do is when I type @ in a text box for it to search an AJAX search, it then brings back a display name i.e. "Bob Johnson" and an associated Id and stores the Id in a comma delimited list. So an example would be the following .... [TextArea] [Name 1] [Name 2] [Name 3] The thing is it also needs to remove this entry (Id) once the tag gets removed, also it needs to load into a DIV which has a scrollbar so that the list doesn't get to big. If anyone know's how/if this is possible that would be great. Thanks.

    I was wondering: Is it possible to customize the Android Contact Picker so that it can also allow adding a new contact as a menu option in the default contact list? At the moment, if I invoke the contact picker from my activity, it only displays the default contact list. I would also like the user to be able to create a new contact if it did not exist already. I have searched this quite a lot but do not find appropriate API to do this. There is nothing in ContactContract as far as I can see.
