  • Error while rendering .rdl file into pdf format

    Hi, I an generating reports using SQL Server reporting services. I have generated a report and have put .rdl report file in the "E" drive. Now, when I am going to render the .rdl report file into pdf format,I am getting the exception : - "An error occurred during local report processing."   • Cascading updates with business key equality: Hibernate best practices?

    I'm new to Hibernate, and while there are literally tons of examples to look at, there seems to be so much flexibility here that it's sometimes very hard to narrow all the options down the best way of doing things. I've been working on a project for a little while now, and despite reading through a lot of books, articles, and forums, I'm still left with a bit of a head scratcher. Any veteran advice would be very appreciated. So, I have a model involving two classes with a one-to-many relationship from parent to child. Each class has a surrogate primary key and a uniquely constrained composite business key. <class name="Container"> <id name="id" type="java.lang.Long"> <generator class="identity"/> </id> <properties name="containerBusinessKey" unique="true" update="false"> <property name="name" not-null="true"/> <property name="owner" not-null="true"/> </properties> <set name="items" inverse="true" cascade="all-delete-orphan"> <key column="container" not-null="true"/> <one-to-many class="Item"/> </set> </class> <class name="Item"> <id name="id" type="java.lang.Long"> <generator class="identity"/> </id> <properties name="itemBusinessKey" unique="true" update="false"> <property name="type" not-null="true"/> <property name="color" not-null="true"/> </properties> <many-to-one name="container" not-null="true" update="false" class="Container"/> </class> The beans behind these mappings are as boring as you can possibly imagine--nothing fancy going on. With that in mind, consider the following code: Container c = new Container("Things", "Me"); c.addItem(new Item("String", "Blue")); c.addItem(new Item("Wax", "Red")); Transaction t = session.beginTransaction(); session.saveOrUpdate(c); t.commit(); Everything works fine the first time, and both the Container and its Items are persisted. If the above code block is executed again, however, Hibernate throws a ConstraintViolationException--duplicate values for the "name" and "owner" columns. Because the new Container instance has a null identifier, Hibernate assumes it is an unsaved transient instance. This is expected but not desired. Since the persistent and transient Container objects have the same business key values, what we really want is to issue an update. It is easy enough to convince Hibernate that our new Container instance is the same as our old one. With a quick query we can get the identifier of the Container we'd like to update, and set our transient object's identifier to match. Container c = new Container("Things", "Me"); c.addItem(new Item("String", "Blue")); c.addItem(new Item("Wax", "Red")); Query query = session.createSQLQuery("SELECT id FROM Container" + "WHERE name = ? AND owner = ?"); query.setString(0, c.getName()); query.setString(1, c.getOwner()); BigInteger id = (BigInteger)query.uniqueResult(); if (id != null) { c.setId(id.longValue()); } Transaction t = session.beginTransaction(); session.saveOrUpdate(c); t.commit(); This almost satisfies Hibernate, but because the one-to-many relationship from Container to Item cascades, the same ConstraintViolationException is also thrown for the child Item objects. My question is: what is the best practice in this situation? It is highly recommended to use surrogate primary keys, and it is also recommended to use business key equality. When you put these two recommendations in to practice together, however, two of the greatest conveniences of Hibernate--saveOrUpdate and cascading operations--seem to be rendered almost completely useless. As I see it, I have only two options: Manually fetch and set the identifier for each object in the mapping. This clearly works, but for even a moderately sized schema this is a lot of extra work which it seems Hibernate could easily be doing. Write a custom interceptor to fetch and set object identifiers on each operation. This looks cleaner than the first option but is rather heavy-handed, and it seems wrong to me that you should be expected to write a plug-in which overrides Hibernate's default behavior for a mapping which follows the recommended design. Is there a better way? Am I making completely the wrong assumptions? I'm hoping that I'm just missing something. Thanks.

I'm trying to design my data access to allow various facets - from ASP.net, WCF and Windows Forms / Windows services. I'm a bit confused re: session management etc.. How would I handle this? I've been checking out code such as: http://membranecms.googlecode.com/svn/ and questions such as: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1207833/nhibernate-linq-session-management But what do i do if i don't just do things in a web based environment..? Do i need to create different repositories for each client? Or do i pass in the ISession into the (for example) UserRepository constructor..? ... as a side note I'm using nHibernate.Linq Also using fluent nHibernate to config my mapping

I have the following Enum: public enum Topics { AdditionSubtraction = 1, MultiplicationDivision = 2, DecimalsFractions = 3 } and the following Class: public class Strategy : BaseEntity { public virtual string Name { get; set; } public virtual Topics Topic { get; set; } public virtual IList Items { get; set; } } If I create an instance of the class thusly: Strategy s = new Strategy { Name = "Test", Topic = Topics.AdditionSubtraction }; it Saves correctly (thanks to this mapping convention: public class EnumConvention : IPropertyConvention, IPropertyConventionAcceptance { public void Apply(FluentNHibernate.Conventions.Instances.IPropertyInstance instance) { instance.CustomType(instance.Property.PropertyType); } public void Accept(FluentNHibernate.Conventions.AcceptanceCriteria.IAcceptanceCriteria criteria) { criteria.Expect(x = x.Property.PropertyType.IsEnum); } } However, upon retrieval, I get an error regarding an attempt to convert Int64 to Topics. This works fine in SQL Server. Any ideas for a workaround? Thanks.

  • Multiple lines of text to a single map

    I've been trying to use Hadoop to send N amount of lines to a single mapping. I don't require for the lines to be split already. I've tried to use NLineInputFormat, however that sends N lines of text from the data to each mapper one line at a time [giving up after the Nth line]. I have tried to set the option and it only takes N lines of input sending it at 1 line at a time to each map: job.setInt("mapred.line.input.format.linespermap", 10); I've found a mailing list recommending me to override LineRecordReader::next, however that is not that simple, as that the internal data members are all private. I've just checked the source for NLineInputFormat and it hard codes LineReader, so overriding will not help. Also, btw I'm using Hadoop 0.18 for compatibility with the Amazon EC2 MapReduce.

Ive tried to put the below condition: IIF(code.SumLookup(LookupSet(Fields!Currency_Type.Value, Fields!Currency_Type1.Value,Fields!Gross_Premium_Amount.Value, "DataSet2"))=0,0,RunningValue(Fields!Receivable.Value,SUM,Nothing)/(code.SumLookup(LookupSet(Fields!Currency_Type.Value, Fields!Currency_Type1.Value,Fields!Gross_Premium_Amount.Value, "DataSet2")))) but since in the false condition i am recalling code.SumLookup in order to get the value in regetting 0 for production and consiquently i get error for Rec/Prod. how can i call code.sumlookup on time only and save its value into a variable so i dont need to call it everytime i need to check the value. or if there any other solution please advise.

    Hi there, I'm facing a situation where I have dependent objects and I would like to be able to remove an object and all references to it. Say I have an object structure like the code below, with a Branch type which references two Nodes. public class Node { // Has Some Data! } public class Branch { // Contains references to Nodes public Node NodeA public Node NodeB } public class Graph { public List<Node> Nodes; public List<Branch> Branches; } If I remove a Node from the Nodes list in the Graph class, it is still possible that one or more Branch objects still contains a reference to the removed Node, thus retaining it in memory, whereas really what I would quite like would be to set any references to the removed Node to null and let the garbage collection kick in. Other than enumerating through each Branch and checking each Node reference sequentially, are there any smart ideas on how I remove references to the Node in each Branch instance AND indeed any other class which reference the removed Node? Much appreciated, Liam

    So, I'd like to implement my own custom authorization system in MVC2. If I'd have to create a global class, where do I instantiate it? Can HttpContext be extended with my own additions and where do I do that? Should I use Authorization filters for rights validation or ActionFilters or do it within an action? Can ActionFilter pass any data to the action itself? Previously (in WebForms) I was using a Session object where I would put a serialized object containing essential user data (account id and a list of roles and rights) and I'd extend my own Page class.

    Take the following code snippet class Missile: instances = [] def __init__(self): Missile.instances.append(self) Now take the code: class Hero(): ... def fire(self): Missile() When the hero fires, a missile needs to be created and appended to the main list. Thus the hero object needs to reference the list when it fires. Here are a few solutions, although I'm sure there are others: Make the list a global, Use a class variable (as above), or Have the hero object hold a reference to the list. I didn't post this on gamedev because my question is actually more general: Is the previous code considered okay? Given a situation like this, is there a more Pythonic solution?

  • Jersey message body reader not found in maven-built JAR

    My application uses a REST (JAX-RS Jersey) interface. When I run it in Eclipse, everything' s fine. The domain objects are annotated, I'm not using XML files for the REST mapping. Now I created a standalone JAR using the maven-assembly-plugin, which packs the application and all dependencies in a single, executable JAR file. This also seems to work. But when I start the application and request an object from the server, Jersey complains, that it can't find a message body reader: com.sun.jersey.api.client.ClientHandlerException: A message body reader for Java type, class de.rybu.atuin.core.entity.User, and MIME media type, application/json, was not found Any ideas why this happens? EDIT: After I slept a night over it, I noticed that it complains about JSON... but I'm using only XML for serialization. Strange.

  • spring web application context is not loaded from jar file in WEB-INF/lib when running tomcat in eclipse

    I am experimenting with spring, maven, and eclipse but stumbling on a weird issue. I am running Eclipse Helios SR1 with the STS (Spring tools suite) plugin which includes the Maven plugin also. What i want to achieve is a spring mvc webapp which uses an application context loaded from a local application context xml file, but also from other application contexts in jar files dependencies included in WEB-INF/lib. What i'd ultimately like to do is have my persistence layer separated in its own jar file but containing its own spring context files with persistence specific configuration (e.g a jpa entityManagerFactory for example). So to experiment with loading resources from jar dependencies, i created a simple maven project from eclipse, which defines an applicationContext.xml file in src/main/resources Inside, i define a bean <bean id="mybean" class="org.test.MyClass" /> and create the class in the org.test package I run mvn-install from eclipse, which generates me a jar file containing my class and the applicationContext.xml file: testproj.jar |_META-INF |_org |_test |_MyClass.class |_applicationContext.xml I then create a spring mvc project from the Spring template projects provided by STS. I have configured an instance of Tomcat 7.0.8 , and also an instance of springSource tc Server within eclipse. Deploying the newly created project on both servers works without problem. I then add my previous project as a maven dependency of the mvc project. the jar file is correctly added in the Maven Dependencies of the project. In the web.xml that is generated, i now want to load the applicationContext.xml from the jar file as well as the existing one generated for the project. My web.xml now looks like this: org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener <!-- Processes application requests --> <servlet> <servlet-name>appServlet</servlet-name> <servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class> <init-param> <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value> classpath*:applicationContext.xml, /WEB-INF/spring/appServlet/servlet-context.xml </param-value> </init-param> <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>appServlet</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> Also, in my servlet-context.xml, i have the following: <context:component-scan base-package="org.test" /> <context:component-scan base-package="org.remy.mvc" /> to load classes from the jar spring context (org.test) and to load controllers from the mvc app context.     I'm discussing some software design issues with a potential client and the idea of Web-to-Print technology has come up. We need users to be able to drag images from an image library to various regions defined by a template. Example: Images may go in box A, B, or C and text may go in boxes D or E. These templates would be setup Boxes A through E would be defined inside a template by administrators using some sort of editor. These templates would serve as a mapping from web-content to a PDF. Once users drag images and insert text in the appropriate regions of the template, the result will be converted into a PDF. Is this feasible these days with jquery & asp.net? That would be nice. If not, what would be the ideal solution?

    I'm creating my own CompositeControl: a collection of MyLineWebControl and a "add" button. When the user press the "add" button, a new MyLineWebControl is added. In CreateChildControls(), I run through my model (some object MyGridOfLines which has a collection of MyLine) and add one MyLineWebControl for each MyLine. In addButton.Click, I add a new MyLine to my object MyGridOfLines. But, since the Click event method is called after CreateChildControls(), the new MyLineWebControl will be only displayed on the next postback. What can I do to "redraw" immediately my control, without loosing values that I've entered in each input?

  • WCF web service: response is 200/ok, but response body is empty

    I am creating a WCF web api service. My problem is that some methods return a 200/OK response, but the headers and the body are empty. In setting up my web service, I created an ADO.NET Entity Data Model. I chose ADO.NET DbContext Generator when I added a code generation item. In the Model.tt document, I changed HashSet and ICollection to List. I built my website. It used to be that when I coded a method to return a List of an entity (like List<Customer> or List<Employee> in the Northwind database), it worked fine. Over time, I could not return a List of any of those, and could only grab one entity. Now, it's gotten to a point where I can return a List<string> or List<int>, but not a List or an instance of any entity. When I try to get a List<AnyEntity>, the response is 200/OK, but the response headers and body are empty. I have tried using the debugger and Firefox's Web Console. Using FF's WC, I could only get an "undefined" status code. I am not sure where to go from here. EDIT: In trying to grab all Areas from the database, I do this: [WebGet(UriTemplate = "areas")] public List<a1Areas> AllAreas() { return context.a1Areas.ToList(); } I would appreciate any more methods for debugging this.   • Mandatory profile on Terminal server fails to load. Userenv.log debug

    Hi, We're having a lot of corrupted profiles lately on our profile share. At the moment I have no clue why, but I decided to switch to one mandatory profile since the users can all use the same and there is no need to have seperate profiles for each user. Here's what I did. I logged into the Terminal server with a new user and configured some stuff (imported certificates and a few files). Then I logged out. Later as admin I copied the profile to another server and renamed it to bsilo. I made sure the user hive settings were adjusted. Everyone had access to the hive. I shared the bsilo folder with full access for everyone. I set the NTFS permissions to read, read & execute, list folder contents for domain users. I also renamed NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN. Now I set a env variable %manprofile% on the Terminal server that points to \server\bsilo\ntuser.man I set the env var as terminal services profile path for a test user. When I log in I as the user get the following output The system cannot find the path specified. Can somebody point me in the right direction.
