I want to make it hover-able till the width of delete icon so I can toggle the class I dont want to use div to trigger the hover because in that case when trash icon is hovered it toggles class of span element too.

  Every time I need to do something N times inside an algorithm using C# I write this code for (int i = 0; i < N; i++) { ... } Studying Ruby I have learned about method times() which can be used with the same semantics like this N.times do ... end Code fragment in C# looks more complex and we should declare useless variable i. • FRIEND_TEST in Google Test - possible circular dependency?

  I am trying to figure out how FRIEND_TEST works in Google Tests. http://code.google.com/p/googletest/wiki/AdvancedGuide#Private_Class_Members I am looking at the following item, trying to implement it in my code: // foo.h #include "gtest/gtest_prod.h" // Defines FRIEND_TEST. class Foo { ... private: FRIEND_TEST(FooTest, BarReturnsZeroOnNull); int Bar(void* x); }; // foo_test.cc ... TEST(FooTest, BarReturnsZeroOnNull) { Foo foo; EXPECT_EQ(0, foo.Bar(NULL)); // Uses Foo's private member Bar(). } In the code above, the piece that I can't see, is that foo_test.cc must include foo.h, in order to have access to Foo and Bar(). [Perhaps it works differently for Google ? in my code, I must include it] That will result in circular dependency... Am I missing something ?

• SSRS Issue: Rounding to nearest .25

  I have an SSRS (2008) report that takes in a raw transactions, then groups and totals them. At the "Total" level, I would like to round the final numbers to the nearest .25, however I cannot find a method to do this. According to what I've read, the Round() function in SSRS only rounds to integers. I have found a couple ways to do it in SQL, but the problem is, I want to do all the calculations with the REAL numbers and just round the result so that I don't introduce a significant amount of error from the real numbers. Here's the best SQL solution I could find: dec(round(number * 4, 0)/4,11,2) as Nearest_Qtr Anyone know how I could do the equivalent in the actual SSRS report? Thanks in advance for the help!

• Pass javascript array to php by using curly braces key name

  My js code: $(function(){ var arr = new Array('jj', 'kk', 'oo'); $.post('test12.php', {'arr[]': arr}, function(data){ alert(data); }); }); PHP code: <?php echo print_r($_POST['arr']); The thing is,$.post receive a key named 'arr[]',it should be used in PHP as 'arr[]' instead of 'arr',but '$_POST['arr[]']' doesn't work,'arr' works.Which seems that Jquery might do something with curly braces '[]' before sending something to PHP. Secondly,when I remove the single quotas around 'arr[]',PHP can not receive anything by using $_POST['arr'];,I don't know why? Doing this task in a traditional way with no curly braces: $.post('test12.php', {arr: arr}, function(data){ alert(data); }); It works fine. So when sending javascript array to PHP,why bothering using single quote and curly braces like 'arr[]' instead of using a concise way like arr:arr My return result is Array( [0]=>jj [1]=>kk [2]=>oo ) 1 Notice there is a 1 under the array,why?

• WCF interoperability with WSDL proxy and performance consideration advise.

  I'm essentially writing a broker service. The requirement is that I write an API that acts as an intermediary broker between our in-house developed services and a 3rd party provided API. The intention being that my API abstract the actual communication with the 3rd party API from our internal systems. The architect on the project chose WCF as the communication framework. The problem is that 70 percent of our subscriber applications are written in .Net 2 and as such have no access to the class libraries required to implement a WCF proxy. The end result being that our proxy classes are loosely based on the code auto generated by the WSDL tool as opposed to the SvcUtil tool. My question is, although I have no issues implementing the required proxy classes using basicHttp as the actual binding and using the WSDL tool, are there any special considerations that I need to take into account in this scenario? I.E proxy optimizations and the like. Thanks in advance.

  Hello guys, at the moment I'm really interested in expression templates and want to code a library for writing and differentiating mathematical functions with a lambda-style syntax. At the moment, I'm able to write (_x * _x)(2); and get the correct result 4. But I would really like to do something like MathFunction f = _x * _x; f(2);, but I don't have any ideas on how to cope with the recursive expression templates on the right side. Is it possible to achieve this without using the 'auto'-Keyword instead of MathFunction or having to make the operator() virtual? Thanks for your help!

  I have a situation where I need to, based on user selection and some server-side processing, display a message to allow user to choose to continue processing or cancel. I have a RadGrid populated with data from the database. When User adds a new item to the grid,I want to do some processing in the back end and then inform the user of what could result and give him/her the choice to continue and believe that a message box or modal popup/radalert is the best way to do it, but how do I create the message in the back end and then using a popup, display the message and block until user responds. How do I do it please?

• Is count(*) really expensive ?

  I have a page where I have 4 tabs displaying 4 different reports based off different tables. I obtain the row count of each table using a select count(*) from <table> query and display number of rows available in each table on the tabs. As a result, each page postback causes 5 count(*) queries to be executed (4 to get counts and 1 for pagination) and 1 query for getting the report content. Now my question is: are count(*) queries really expensive -- should I keep the row counts (at least those that are displayed on the tab) in the view state of page instead of querying multiple times? How expensive are COUNT(*) queries ?

• NSBezierPath with transparent fill

  I've got a NSBezierPath that needs to have a semi-transparent fill. When I fill it with a solid color, I get the expected result. However, when filled with a semi-transparent color I get a path with a rounded stroke but an odd, rectangular fill. It looks like: Instead of filling the entire area, I get a filled rectangle inside the stoke with a small, unfilled boarder.   Hi, in my html page, I have the following: <div id="rub"> Select at least one Rub </div> In the script code, I have if ( some condition ... ) $('rub').replace("Rubs selected:"); Which works fine, but when a second event is triggered, in the code I have if ( some other condition ... ) $('rub').replace("Selected at least one item:"); That gives the error $("rub") is null It's as if the rub reference was lost after the first replace. The problem is that main script must not wait for external PHP script to finish. Result of external script is important, so exec('php -f file.php &') is not an option.

• How to count toggled buttons in jqueryui after a click event.

  I need to count how many buttons are toggled using the jqueryui checkbox button option - .buttonset(). This needs to happen when a button is toggled. I added a unique class to the labels before applying the button set and have set a click event on it. It fires fine, however it is firing before the jqueryui has processed the click so the result is out of date. • utf-8 convertion doesn't work always

  I searched into other stack before to type here and I didn't find anythong similar. I have to scrape different utf-8 webpages which contain text like "Oggi è una bellissima giornata" the problem is on the characther "è" I extract this text with jtidy and xpath query expression and I convert it with byte[] content = filteredEncodedString.getBytes("utf-8"); String result = new String(content,"utf-8"); where filteredEncodedString contains the text "Oggi è una bellissima giornata". This procedures works on the most webpages analyzed so far but in some case it doesn't extract a utf-8 string. Page encoding is always the same as the text is similar. Any ideas about the problem? thanks Marco

• Excel Macro to find text in cell and insert hyperlink on cell

  We're managing some system bugs in a web system and setting priority for execs in a spreadsheet. Each of the tickets has a "FD-" and four numbers as the ID. The web system has a hyperlink that has that "FD-####" at the end of the link. The end result would look like this -- http://www.mytickets.com/FD-#### I'd like to run a macro that finds all the FD-#### and inserts a hyperlink on each. There may be multiple FD-#### in a single cell and there will certainly be other text in there. I'd go through each and add the link but there are over 150 or so. Thanks!

  Hi, I want to check if a user has any new messages each time they load the page. Up until now, I have been doing this inside of my views but it's getting fairly hard to maintain since I have a fair number of views now. I assume this is the kind of thing middleware is good for, a check that will happen every single page load. What I need it to do is so: Check if the user is logged in If they are, check if they have any messages Store the result so I can reference the information in my templates Has anyone ever had to write any middleware like this? I've never used middleware before so any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Access is re-writing - and breaking - my query!

  I have a query in MS Access (2003) that makes use of a subquery. The subquery part looks like this: ...FROM (SELECT id, dt, details FROM all_recs WHERE def_cd="ABC-00123") AS q1,... And when I switch to Table View to verify the results, all is OK. Then, I wanted the result of this query to be printed on the page header for a report (the query returns a single row that is page-header stuff). I get an error because the query is suddenly re-written as: ...FROM [SELECT id, dt, details FROM all_recs WHERE def_cd="ABC-00123"; ] AS q1,... So it's Ok that the round brackets are automatically replaced by square brackets, Access feels it needs to do that, fine! But why is it adding the ; into the subquery, which causes it to fail? I suppose I could just create new query objects for these subqueries, but it seems a little silly that I should have to do that.

  Is there a quick way to validate a single form field with CodeIgniter to see whether or not that field matches a set of rules? There's the $this-form_validation-run();, but that will return either TRUE or FALSE for the whole form, and that's just not what I'm looking for. For example, if I only wanted to check if the email was valid, checking the whole form is not going to get me the result I'm looking for. I looked through the documentation but couldn't find anything like $this-form_validation-run(); that accepts one parameter and returns TRUE or FALSE if it's valid.

So, I would like to ask I could of question to help to write an app to maintain it for me. 1- How can I access a music file and read details of it? I mean, I would like to write some code and passing the directory, my app would read all the music files (understand mp3 files) and with that I would like to access details like title, artist, length and so on... 2- Is there a public source that I could access and update my file? From what I can see it looks like my $row['Date'] is not incrementing and staying at the same date. I originally had it set to a variable (currently commented out) but I thought that could be causing problems. I have created the table with dates ranging from 2012-11-01 to 2012-11-15 for testing and entered all of this php code onto phpfiddle.org but I can't get the username provided to connect. • O(N log N) Complexity - Similar to linear?

  Hey All, So I think I'm going to get buried for asking such a trivial but I'm a little confused about something. I have implemented quicksort in Java and C and I was doing some basic comparissons. The graph came out as two straight lines, with the C being 4ms faster than the Java counterpart over 100,000 random integers. The code for my tests can be found here; android-benchmarks I wasn't sure what an (n log n) line would look like but I didn't think it would be straight. I just wanted to check that this is the expected result and that I shouldn't try to find an error in my code. I stuck the formula into excel and for base 10 it seems to be a straight line with a kink at the start. Is this because the difference between log(n) and log(n+1) increases linearly? Thanks, Gav
