    I have the following linq query from o in context.Opportunities join i in context.Interactions on o.OpportunityID equals i.OpportunityID into ints from i in ints.DefaultIfEmpty() orderby i.StatusID descending, o.StatusID descending select o Now i want to then do a distinct on the opportunities table but doing so removes my orderby. I know that you can do Distinct().OrderBy but how do i get a reference to the interactions table that was joined when I'm only selecting the opportunity entity?

I am planning to give these components to a Java swing frame or panel. However,The users are supposed to click on the figure(which I will construct using Graphics 2d libraries) and select two points and give a label to the points between those two points ? How can i get the clicks clicked on JFrame or JPanel(i.e events for this kind of actions) ?

Right now I'm logging some info of the user in my web app in a log file to observe the usage & interest for some services, but I'm interested in checking that info in a readeable way, so I'm questioning if maybe I shall save that info in a database and then retrieve it to show it in tables or whatever. It's better to log in the database for my purposes? Or logging like now I could select/order the info of the log easily?

Oh my I'm on a project which have multiple countries, brands, components layers and each time I will add a file you want me to "Add as Link" ? This is a nightmare maintenance ! Is there any other solutions ?

But when I select a certain word in the code file, Resharper still shows a pencil with an Action list in the left border with the action 'use var'. Where can I edit the actions that should be shown?     I have a MySQL query which gets including some vars like that: messages TABLE receiver cols user1 rows : 1,3,5 user2 rows : 2,3 user3 rows : 1,4 I want to get rows which includes '3' value. So I will get 'user1' and 'user2'. I tried that but naturally it doesn't work. mysql_query("SELECT * FROM messages WHERE receiver='3'"); How can I do this?

    The first one below works, but, just wanted to see if there's a better way... If I'm trying to find all records that start with 'C' with either a flag of 2 or a status of 9, do I need to incorporate the 'C' criteria twice? i.e., "SELECT * FROM mytable WHERE name like 'C%' AND flag = 2 OR name like 'C%' AND status = 9" Or, is there a way quicker way to write it so that I only need to set 'C%' once?

It's DataNavigateUrlFormatString property is set to View.aspx?id={0}&isTechnical={1} Select command of appropriate SqlDataSource returns columns of type INT and BIT (from SQL Server 2008). So displayed string becomes something like View.aspx?id=1&isTechnical=1. But I want to display isTechnical=true|False, i.e. Convert.ToBoolean(row["isTechnical"]).ToString().ToLowerInvariant(). How to implement such conversion in page markup?

    I'm trying to recreate a race condition in a test, so I can try out some solutions. I find that in the threads I create in my test, ActiveRecord always returns 0 for counts and nil for finds. For example, with 3 rows in the table "foos": it "whatever" do puts Foo.count 5.times do Thread.new do puts Foo.count end end end will print 3 0 0 0 0 0 test.log shows the expected query, the expected 6 times: SELECT count(*) AS count_all FROM `active_agents` Any idea what's going on here?

    Hi, i have a list with objects. The object has a property 'Sales' which is a string. Now i want to create a list of doubles with the values of all objects' 'Sales' properties. I tried this: var tmp = from n in e.Result select new{ Convert.ToDouble ( n.Sales) }; but this gives me this error: Error 106 Invalid anonymous type member declarator. Anonymous type members must be declared with a member assignment, simple name or member access.

    Hi! I'm doing a INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE but I need the update part to be conditional, only doing the update if some extra condition has changed. However, WHERE is not allowed on this UPDATE. Is there any workaround for this? I can't do combinations of INSERT/UPDATE/SELECT since this needs to work over a replication.
