• Social statistics for a given page

  I have looked through the API's of facebook and twitter but i cannot seem to find the answer to my question. On websites like http://punchfork.com/recipe/Porkitos-Crispy-Prosciutto-Chips-Nom-Nom-Paleo On the right hand side they have the social stats page with information such as Tweets, Facebook Shares and Stumbleupons. My question is how do they record or gather these results? Is it a case of they have a button that records it in their database then sends you to the page to tweet/share/stumble? But surely that couldn't be accurate as people might not continue to fill out the action.

• PHP cURL loading delay

  Hello. My problem is, I need to cURL-load a page that uses Ajax-based search, to get results of that search. And I need to organize a delay between curl_exec() and value returning. In other words, I need to execute curl_exec() for no less than 5 seconds. sleep() seems to stop curl execution and does not work. Will greatly appreciate any hint or clue UPD I don't know how, but on this page http://vkontakte.ru/gsearch.php?section=video&q=sample&name=1, but it requires an account to access curl DOES capture the search made by ajax. But if page tooks too long to load, Ajax returns "action was too fast" error. So I just need to prolong curl execution. Sorry if being unclear.

• Locking a detail view if a user is editing the item...

  Hi All I am developing a user manager which must control access to the detail view of editable items. At present, when a user clicks 'edit', the application queries the link table to check if a user is currently editing that page, if not, it allows access to the page and then inserts a record into the link table preventing another user from editing the same page at the same time. My question is what would the best way to handle the removal of records if say a user exists the browser without saving etc, therefore no action to remove the record. I have a couple of ideas but would like other input before I decide. BenTheDesigner

• Dismissing the keyboard in a UIScrollView

  Alright, I have a couple of UITextFields and UITextViews inside a UIScrollView, and I'd like to set the keyboard to disappear whenever the scrollview is touched or scrolled (except when you touch down inside the text field/view, of course). My current attempt at doing this is replacing the UIScrollView with a subclass, and setting it to call a removeKeyboard function (defined inside the main view controller) inside the touchesBegan method. However, this only removes the keyboard for a normal touch, not when the view is simply scrolled. So, what's the best way to remove the keyboard inside a UIScrollView? • Memory is leaked only in some machines.

  We've got a situation where our application is leaking memory while doing some periodic action. The test scenario is composed of a series of processes across two relatively complex WPF windows. The weird thing about the situation is that memory only gets leaked on SOME machines, while others, having exactly the same hardware, can be working for really long times (repeating the process every minute) having their memory almost unchanged (once the GC gets rid of used memory, etc). This is .NET + WPF. Any ideas about where to start looking? What can cause leaks in only some machines? (we're talking about a 30 machine test scenario). I have few experience with WPF, could the graphic card had anything to do with it?

  Hi - Working on my first Wordpress site so I'm sure this is a really basic question. I'm struggling to write a conditional php statement that performs a certain action when a page is a child of a parent page. For example, rather than just specifying one page, as below, I'd like to specify all pages that have the 'About Us' page as a parent: <?php if (is_page('About Us')) echo 'Hello World!'; ?> I've tried the "child_of" function but it wasn't as straightforward as I'd hoped. • Image is not detected if taken from camera Using UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera

  I am trying to build an app which will compare the two images and gives the Matching Percentage. I am taking two Images from The camera(Making use of UIImagePickerController) and saving it to the document directory.Then i fetch these images in a different view controller to get the face part, using CIDetector API and CIfacefeature API. The problem is It is not detecting the face at all through i am able to fetch the images properly. And if i store the same image in the main bundle it detects. I dnt know where the problem is. I have tried everything. May Be the problem is with the UIImage or may be the format in which image is getting saved in document directory or with the camera. Please help. I will be grateful to you. • How to determine page generation time with Struts 2 ?

  I'm using Struts 2 and I'd like to determine the page generation time without an external profiler. I can easily profile the actions execute() method, but I don't know how to include the time spent before (in dispatchers, interceptors...) and after (time taken by the servlet corresponding to the view ("jsp time")). Is there simple way to do this ? And if there isn't, how could I, at least, profile the "jsp time" (maybe a tag I'm not aware of ?) ? I think it would be accurate enough to just take in account action time + jsp time. Thanks.

• Collision detection on sub views contained in 2 separate parent UIViews?

  Hi All, I originally setup some conditions using CGRectIntersectsRect for some collision detection which worked fine. In the greater scale of things I only need part of the view to be detected. So originally within the ViewController it was comparing 2 UIviews. Now what I need to do is collision detection of subViews within 2 different UIViews that are contained in a view in which the view controller does the logic. My script is no longer working as I suspect CGRectIntersectsRect only compares frames within the same view? I'll keep digging to confirm this. Any ways around this? Is it possible for example to get the x and y pos of the sub view in relation to the main view that's performing the logic?

  Simple submit button. <h:commandButton actionListener="#{regBean.findReg}" action="#{regBean.navigate}" value="Search" /> The form tag is displayed like so: <h:form onsubmit="this.disabled=true;busyProcess();return true;"> This is so if the submit button is pressed, the page shows a "busy" icon until request is processed. The problem is, the request is never submitted and it never reaches the backend. However, if I instead take out the "disabled" call like so: <h:form onsubmit="busyProcess();return true;"> Everything works. Any ideas?

  Have pretty odd situation. There are 2 applications: 1) C:\MyFolder1\First.exe 2) C:\MyFolder2\Second.exe First.exe runs Second.exe and quits. Process.Start(@"C:\MyFolder2\Second.exe"); // And exit. Seconds.exe waits a few seconds and tries to remove "C:\MyFolder1\" folder. // Wait for 5 seconds - First.exe terminated by that time for 100% Directory.Delete(@"C:\MyFolder1\", true); Action fails with “The process cannot access the file ‘C:\MyFolder1\’ because it is being used by another process.” It's able to remove the First.exe file (actually all files in the folder), but not the folder itself. Does anybody have an idea why the folder is locked by the second process?
