• Official definition of CSCI (Computer Software Configuration Item)

  I'm looking for the most official definition of CSCI / Configuration Item - not just what it is but what we have to deliver / can expect when a contract defines subsystems which shall be developed as configuration items. I spend some time with my famous search tool and found a lot of explanations for CSCI (wikipedia, acronym directories, ...) but I haven't found a standard or a pointer to a standard (like ISO-xxx) yet which tells (1) what it is and (2) what has to be done from a QM/CM point of view. I just ask, because a contractors QM representative stated during an acceptance test, that CI only requires to not forget the CI in the configuration plan and to assign a serial number ... I expected to see some SRS, SDD, ICD, SVD, SIP, ... documents and acceptance test documentation for those subsystems...

• Simple question about javascript history.go

  I have a classifieds website. In every classified, there is a back link which simply takes the browser back one step. This is because when users search classifieds, and click on one to view it, they can easily go back with a link also (instead of only the browser back button). Here is the problem, if the classified is entered directly into the adress bar of a browser, or if somebody bookmarked a classified, then this back-link would take them someplace else... Is there any way of making sure that the previous page is a certain page (index.php in my case)? This way I would only display the back link if the previous page was index.php... Thanks

• Something wrong with redirects on my Joomla 1.5.18 site

  My Joomla 1.5.18 site, I enabled login, when I click login the page I get sent to is NOT styled with CSS. If I login it redirects to the home page and it is not styled anymore either. It looks like it is recursively appending stuff to the URL incorrectly. http://www.myjoomlasite.org/index.php/index.php/login if I click on home page or login links it keeps putting more and more index.php entries in the URL, and sometimes on the end. The following is what I get when I try and go to a JEvents menu item. http://www.myjoomlasite.org/index.php/index.php/index.php/index.php/upcomingevents/month.calendar/2010/06/09/index.php Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I don't know what to search for on Google apparently, and none of the Joomla! books I have address this.

  I've got a Content Assist problem in eclipse 3.5, which is eclipse-java-galileo-win32.zip. When I press Alt+/(I've changed Ctrl+Space to this) in Java Editor, no assistant tips are shown up. • How to find Junit tests that are using a given Java method directly or indirectly

  Assume there are Java project and Junit project in an Eclipse workspace. And All the unit tests are located in the Junit project and dependent on the application Java project. When making changes to a Java method, I need to find the unit tests that are using the method directly or indirectly, so that I can run the corresponding tests locally in my PC before checking into source control. I don't want to run the entire junit project since it takes time. I could use Eclipse call hierarchy to expand caller methods one by one until I find a test method. But for a project including more than 1 million lines of source code, digging down the call hierarchy takes time too. The search scope within call hierarchy view doesn't seem help much. Appreciate any help.

• Flash relationship map

  Hi, Does anyone know any Flash fla's which are out there and free which do something similar to http://audiomap.tuneglue.net/ (you have to type in a search term to see it in action). What I'm after is the flash to create the node in the middle which expands out into children and then each of those children can be expanded out into more children, etc. while keeping their distance from one another so as to not overlap. I'd like it so that if you clicked on a node to expand it, it would shoot off to a web site and get an xml feed which could then be used to create the children. Thanks

• image map alternative (maybe in javascript?)

  Alright, so I was wondering if there was an alternative, lightweight way to creating an image map. Basically, I want to take this image: And have the sections of the diagram light up when they are hovered over, kinda like this (I've mocked it up in photoshop): The other sections (which I haven't named yet) should be able to do the same. Also, I'd like to be able to use javascript later to have sliding links appear from behind those sections (I roughly know how to do that now, so I'm okay that) Does anyone have any suggestions? Just a general direction on what to search for would be great.

  I am having a find a replace in a bunch of RTF documents, The basic pattern I need is \{(?:\\\*)?\\field\\fldlock\{\\\*\\fldinst ?MERGEFIELD ?((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?)(?:\\.*?)?\}(?:\{\\fldrslt\})?\} However I then found out there could potentialy be a newline before each slash, so it turned in to this. \{(?:\s*\\\*)?\s*\\field\s*\\fldlock\s*\{\s*\\\*\s*\\fldinst\s*MERGEFIELD\s*((?:\\.*?)?[\w\[\]]+?(?:\s*\\.*?)?)?\s*\}(?:\s*\{\s*\\fldrslt\s*\})?\s*\} But then I hit this it fails fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot Is there way have to have it match a new line anywhere in the search too without adding (?:\r?\n)? everywhere? EDIT To clear up confusion on the new lines. I need to keep the newlines in the document, I only want to remove the newlines if they are inside my match, so in the final example I posted it should replace fees totaling $\protect {\field\fldlock{\*\fldinst MERGEFIELD ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYF EES}}\plain\f0\fs24\prot with fees totaling $\protect ENTEROUTSTANDINGVETERINARYFEES\plain\f0\fs24\prot

• Return cell reference as result of if statement with vlookups.

  I have two sets of data in excel. One contains a set of data which represents the initial step of a process. The other set of data represents the additional steps which take place after the first step is completed. Each of the data records in the "additional step data" has an id in a column. I need to find the identifying codes of the "additional step data" which correspond with the initial step data records. The problem is that I have to match the data in 4 columns between the two data sets and return the id of the "additional step data". I started by doing a combination of an if and vlookup functions, but I got stuck when I tried to figure out how to get the if statement to reference the id of the matching "additional step data". Basically I am trying to avoid having to search by manually filtering between two sets of data and finding corresponding records. Does anyone have any idea about how to do this?

  I'm lucky enough to share a room with 3 other people at work. One of them, a senior programmer who's very talkative in general, tends to ask me various questions throughout the day. While some of them are surely ' legitimate', many questions could have been answered by putting in just slightly more search effort on their part. I really don't mind be asked stuff, and I can also cope with beginner questions, but this is seriously interrupting my flow. I clearly remember Joel talking about how private offices increase productivity because they prevent too easy questions from being asked. How should I deal with this situation? Getting a private office is out of the question, sadly. It's difficult to approach him directly, and he blissfully ignored the slight hints I tried to give.

• How to store a 250mb database in an Offline Web App

  Ok, maybe i'm not seeing the whole picture or something, but i kinda need a brainstorm. So the purpose is to make a webapp (HTML5, CSS, Javascript) that has to search on a 250mb database without any internet connection, so.. yes the database has to be on the client side. The hard part here is, this App has to work on an iPod or iPhone without internet connection. (An initial connection to download the App is ok), LocalStorage has a 5mb limit, couchDB would be great since they have an webapp easily accessed by Javascript (privacy concerns don't matter at this point), so i'm pretty much out of ideas.... Does anyone see an alternative, or solution for the purpose?

• EF Query using .Contains() and .ToLowerInvariant() Results in no matches when match is found at the end of a string

  Is it possible to step into a linq query? I have a linq to entity framework 4 query in it's simplest form: List = List.Where(f => f.Value.ToString().ToLowerInvariant().Contains(filter.ToLowerInvariant())); It's a query against an Entity Framework DbContext and I'm having trouble seeing why it works for something like: List searching for 001 yields no results against the following list Test001 Test002 Test003 Test004 However any other search yields results (Such as t00 or Test) Update Basically I'm looking for why a query such as the above wouldn't return a result when I'm using a contains and the value matches the end of a string vs just the middle or begining. It's really confusing. OK, it appears to have something to do with ToLowerInvariant() - when I removed that method it works just fine.

  I am having a really annoying bug, which yet I don't know how to trace it. I have an activity with 3 tabs, each populated by adapters build by asynctasks. They are displaying well, navigation is fine. I've extended TabActivity. But whenever I hit the Back/Menu/Search button it halts, then after a while the OS displays me this warning: Sorry Activity Contacts (in application MyApp) is not responding. Force close or Wait. How can I trace this problem on the phone?

• Getting All categories in external page.

  This is very basic magento question i guess. I want to first get all the store categories, then loop through them to get their sub-categories and products and similarly continue till the last sub-category. I will be using this in an external page having Mage::app() declared at the top of the page. I am not aware of the Magento API's(if thats wat they are called) to use to get this functionality. Remember I am not using this in any of the templates, so something like getCurrentCategory() will not work here i guess. Also please guide if there are any good resources to search for particular functionality in magento and API's to implement it, or am i doomed to go through their phpdoc to know the list of methods. Any help here will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

I want to have a central model where all my views will have access to. They should be able to get and set values. I don't want to use it as each view model though.   I finished installing Ubuntu 10 for netbooks, and XAMPP. The XAMPP website tutorial made it very easy to install, then left me high and dry. Everything works, but I have no idea where to put my handwritten php files. After a few hours of googling, and trying to understand the file explorer, I realized I have no idea where anything is in ubuntu. For an answer, please don't just tell me "go to "X" directory. I won't know how to navigate there. I also did a file search for htdocs with no luck.

• Getting age from an encrypted DOB field

  Hi all Due to certain compliance requirements, we have to encrypt the user DOB field in the database. We also have another requirement to be able to search a user by his age. Our DB doesn't support transparent encryption so encryption will handled by the application. Any good ideas on how to allow for searching by age? One thought is to save the YOB in a separate column in cleartext and still be able to comply to our compliance requirement. Aside from that, any other design strategy that would help? • Performance optimization for mssql: decrease stored procedures execution time or unload the server?

  Hello everybody! We have a web service which provides search over hotels. There is a problem with performance: a single request to the service takes around 5000 ms. Almost all of the time is spent in database by executing storing procedures. During the request our server (mssql2008) consumes ~90% of the processor time. When 2 requests are made in parallel the average time grows and is around 7000 ms. When number of request is increasing, the average time of response is increasing as well. We have 20-30 requests per minute. Which kind of optimization is the best in this case having in mind that the goal is to provide stable response time for the service: 1) Try to decrease the stored procedures execution time 2) Try to find the way how to unload the server It is interesting to hear from people who deal with booking sites.   I have searched for this, but still can't seem to get this to work for me. I have an array of Id's associated with a user (their Organization Id). These are placed in an int[] as follows: int[] OrgIds = (from oh in this.Database.OrganizationsHierarchies join o in this.Database.Organizations on oh.OrganizationsId equals o.Id where (oh.Hierarchy.Contains(@OrgId)) || (oh.OrganizationsId == Id) select o.Id).ToArray(); The code there isn't very important, but it shows that I am getting an integer array from a Linq query. From this, though, I want to run another Linq query that gets a list of Personnel, that code is as follows: List<Personnel> query = (from p in this.Database.Personnels where (search the array) select p).ToList(); I want to add in the where clause a way to select only the users with the OrganizationId's in the array. So, in SQL where I would do something like "where OrganizationId = '12' or OrganizationId = '13' or OrganizatonId = '17'." Can I do this fairly easily in Linq / .NET?

I'm trying to make an administration zone within a subfolder (also ZF) and a API Zend Application for my mobile Android application. The problem is: I rewrited all routes im my principal website, so now it always search for a route when I go to a subfolder.
