• How to set environment variables for Xfce windowing environment

  We're using Ubuntu 12.04.1 with Xfce 4.8. We have a script which sets environment variables needed by our software. In the past, I figured out how to run this script in the Xfce start up so that these environment variables are set up and available to gui based programs launched via icons. Recently an OS upgrade wiped out this setting and I can't remember or find how to do this. I've tried sourcing the script from ~/.profile, ~/.xinitrc, and ~/.config/xfce4/xinitrc, but no luck.

• Connecting to internet via phone on Linux

  I have a Sony Ericsson C702 phone with a flat fee internet subscription (GPRS/UMTS). I'd like to connect my Linux (Kubuntu 9.04) laptop to internet via this phone, using bluetooth (I also have a cable connection but that's propietary, doubt it'll work). How can I do this, preferably via GUI / NetworkManager / the BT applet that comes with KDE? In Windows I use SE's PC suite software which works great, but is not available for Linux.

  Possible Duplicate: Where can I download edx opensource learning platform? What other learning platforms are opensource? I have just found a query on the edx platform in which I am interested, being a significant piece of Learning Management System open source. I assume superuser platform cares about computer software, and therefore I don't see the question irrelevant.   i have hosted w2003 RRAS in my network succesfully ( Natting with one public IP ) i need to host another RRAS setup same like above with different private IP address and public IP's,. when i configured so, both w2003 servers got frozen and internet not working. sometimes the gateway is same for both the servers. How can i host 2 RRAS in the same network, i am using RRAS to limit bandwidth for computers running private ip's through bandwithcontroller software.

  Is there an emulator that would enable me to test the appearance of an email as it is being read on a smartphone (without specifying the phone type)? What I would like to be able to do, is to send an email to this emulator, and then scroll down through the email using the emulator.   I have Chrome associated with .xlsx file on windows 8.1 machine In Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations it is not possible to remove association only to change it to another program. In Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Default Programs\Set Program Associations , .xlsx is not present in Chrome. I removed all keys from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.xlsx Still Chrome remains associated with that extension in Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations, Windows Explorer shows the Chrome icon with the .xlsx file.

  Why other dvd rom/ram can read data from scratched disk and others cannot. For me its a comparison between LG and Lite On. Lite on, gets errors while reading disk with scratches. LG can read disk with scratches with no problems. Why is that? Is it possible to modify the software or the driver of the dvd rom so that it won't get errors when copying data from disk with scratches?

• iis7 bandwith throttling for downloads via iis media services?

  I am looking after a sever that is managing the downloads of software updates released by the company where I work. The throttle in IIS7 seems to limit the total rate and not the rate each individual download gets. I was thnking on installing media services, adding .zip as a type and then throttling the individual connection rate based on what I read. Is this how this sort of thing is done with IIS7?
