  • JSF in jetty-equinox, Cannot find Bean classes in other bundles!

    Hi I have problems running JSF in an OSGi environment. I am using jetty web container and equinox to provide the OSGi functionality. The structure of my application is as follows: The first bundle has all the JSF libs, web.xml and a config.xml. It looks as the following: bundle1 ----src/main/java -------de/package ----------Activator.java ----------JSFResolver.java ----src/main/resource ------ WebContent ----------META-INF -------------face-config.xml --------------web.xhtml ----------start.xhtml -----------include.xhtml ----libs (containing all JSF required Jars) The structure of the second bundle is as follows: bundle2 ---src/main/java ------de/package ----------Bean.java ---src/main/resource ------META-INF ---------face-config.xml ------WebContent ---------index.xhtml When running the application of equinox, the bundle1 is the main bundle where all the browser requests are sent to. In the second bundle, the 'index.xhtml' file can be retrieved the by first bundle upon request. The 'index.xhtml' in bundle 2 gets its values and properties from the 'Bean.java' in bundle 2. The problem comes when i request the 'index.xhtml', the Bean.java class is not found. I think this is because the class loader of bundle1 cannot find it, it has no knowledge of it. So i would like to ask if anyone knows how to solve this problem. If so please do assist me, i have tried all the possibilities i had.. Is it infact possible to have JSF run on multiple bundles using the same FaceletsContex? Can i be able to have seperate faces-config.xml files in each bundle, which can all be connected other faces-config.xml in other bundles? Can anyone please provide me a solution.     Hi, I have a facelets 1.2 application that I am running on Weblogic 11g. I want to use the JBoss EL implementation that allows me to call bean methods with arguments. For this, I have packaged the jboss-el-2.0.1.GA.jar in my WAR's WEB-INF/lib directory. I have also added a context-param in my web.xml to override the Sun implementation. <context-param> <param-name>com.sun.faces.expressionFactory</param-name> <param-value>org.jboss.el.ExpressionFactoryImpl</param-value> </context-param> But when I load a page that contains an expression like <ice:outputText value="#{errBean.getErrMsg(error.code)}"/> I get an expression parsing exception java.lang.Exception: javax.faces.FacesException: com.sun.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered "(" at line 1, column 25.   • add jsf project facet in eclipse/ why need it?

    Hi, I started on JSF2.0. I followed a tutorial with no problem and all worked fine! I used Eclipse Helios. But I noticed something I can not understand. The tutorial said to add Project Facet for JSF 2. I did no such thing and all worked ok. So to follow tutorial exactly I did: Right-click on Project -Properties- Project Facets And JavaServer Faces check-box was not ticked. I assume this is what the tutorial means by Project Facet. I clicked on it and a Further Configuration Needed link appeared. I followed the link to a JSF capabilities (Modify Faceted Project) dialog, I selected as User library, my library of JSF(which is MyFaces) but I got the error message: Found multiple versions of the required class javax.faces.FactoryFinder. What is this error? Can't I add project facet after creating my project? And what do I need the project facet for? My (trivial) code indicates that JSF works ok, so what is the project Facet useful for? Thanks!

    I'm coming to Postgres from Oracle and looking for a way to find the table and index size in terms of bytes/MB/GB/etc, or even better the size for all tables. In Oracle I had a nasty long query that looked at user_lobs and user_segments to give back an answer. I assume in Postgres there's something I can use in the information_schema tables, but I'm not seeing where. Thanks in advance.

    Hi, I have developed web applications using JSF (myfaces components). But in these days of responsive UI, JSF doesnt fare well. I m hearing a lot about AJAX, GWT, etc. So i wanted your opinion on which web technology/framework should i learn inorder to develop web applications for enterprise products. Some of the web technologies that i m hearing are: ICE Faces (With AJAX Bridge support) GWT extJS and extGWT JavaFX Apache Wicket Jquery AJAX Open laszlo Which of the above or the combination of the above would help me ? Some of the parameters on which you can rate these web technologies are: Ease of learning Maintainability of web application code Community support IDE support - Eclipse or NetBeans Off the shelf component availability (like textbox,table grids, option menus) License - Does it cost for commercial use ? User Experience - responsive UI. Shouldnt be sluggish A similar question on SO does answer my question partially. Would want more info though. EDIT: Answers collated: Based on the answers : AJAX would be the best thing to start for learning fundamentals, then learn JQUERY. Any component based frame work that can complement ajax,jquery ? Edit 2: If i had to design a web application like StackOverFlow (in java platform) which would be the best choice to learn and adopt? Wicket + Jquery, WiQuery GWT Some XYZ Faces technology(RichFaces/ICEFaces) + AJAX. Comments appreciated from some one who has worked with them and can rate them in the above mentioned parameters.

  • Which linear programming package should I use for high numbers of constraints and "warm starts"

    I have a "continuous" linear programming problem that involves maximizing a linear function over a curved convex space. In typical LP problems, the convex space is a polytope, but in this case the convex space is piecewise curved -- that is, it has faces, edges, and vertices, but the edges aren't straight and the faces aren't flat. Instead of being specified by a finite number of linear inequalities, I have a continuously infinite number. I'm currently dealing with this by approximating the surface by a polytope, which means discretizing the continuously infinite constraints into a very large finite number of constraints. I'm also in the situation where I'd like to know how the answer changes under small perturbations to the underlying problem. Thus, I'd like to be able to supply an initial condition to the solver based on a nearby solution. I believe this capability is called a "warm start." Can someone help me distinguish between the various LP packages out there? I'm not so concerned with user-friendliness as speed (for large numbers of constraints), high-precision arithmetic, and warm starts. Thanks!

    Hi, I have incorporated tinymce into my application. When i execute the jsp standalone, the print size seem consistent to what it should be i.e. 12Pt comes out as 12pt. Whereas when i run the same jsp from oracle developer using oracle application server 12pt comes out to be more like 8pt. Any thoughts. Please share any pointers. Thanks, Ashok

  • FILE* issue PPU side code

    We are working on a homework on CELL programming for college and their feedback response to our questions is kinda slow, thought i can get some faster answers here. I have a PPU side code which tries to open a file passed down through char* argv[], however this doesn't work it cannot make the assignment of the pointer, i get a NULL. Now my first idea was that the file isn't in the correct directory and i copied in every possible and logical place, my second idea is that maybe the PPU wants this pointer in its LS area, but i can't deduce if that's the bug or not. So... My question is what am i doing wrong? I am working with a Fedora 7 SDK Cell, with Eclipse as an IDE. Maybe my argument setup is wrong tho he gets the name of the file correctly.   • Textures in Opengl ES 2 not working properly

    Hi! I'm working with Opengl ES 2 on iphone and right now I am trying to get my textures working on my objects. I'm using .obj files and all the data in them are correct. I have written a parser myself to retrieve all data, I convert it to static arrays in C. I discard the material properties for now, only getting the image path from the .mtl files manually. I have an object with 336 triangles, making this non-trivial to observe, with appertaining vertices, vertex faces and texture coordinates (u,v).   • How to calculate the normal of points on a 3D cubic Bézier curve given normals for its start and end points?

    I'm trying to render a "3D ribbon" using a single 3D cubic Bézier curve to describe it (the width of the ribbon is some constant). The first and last control points have a normal vector associated with them (which are always perpendicular to the tangents at those points, and describe the surface normal of the ribbon at those points), and I'm trying to smoothly interpolate the normal vector over the course of the curve. For example, given a curve which forms the letter 'C', with the first and last control points both having surface normals pointing upwards, the ribbon should start flat, parallel to the ground, slowly turn, and then end flat again, facing the same way as the first control point. To do this "smoothly", it would have to face outwards half-way through the curve. At the moment (for this case), I've only been able to get all the surfaces facing upwards (and not outwards in the middle), which creates an ugly transition in the middle. It's quite hard to explain, I've attached some images below of this example with what it currently looks like (all surfaces facing upwards, sharp flip in the middle) and what it should look like (smooth transition, surfaces slowly rotate round). Silver faces represent the front, black faces the back. Incorrect, what it currently looks like: Correct, what it should look like: All I really need is to be able to calculate this "hybrid normal vector" for any point on the 3D cubic bézier curve, and I can generate the polygons no problem, but I can't work out how to get them to smoothly rotate round as depicted. Completely stuck as to how to proceed!
