  I'm trying to get Nexus Mod Manager (Beta yet) working on wine, but after the configuration of NMM it crashes with an error. During the startup it spams alot of terminal stuff and at the end I find this error. ###!!! • Implementing scrolling buttons in android

  I want to create an Android app in which the buttons scroll up or down the screen, kind of like a "wheel", so that when the "last" button is reached, it is simply followed seamlessly by the first one. I would want it to look something like the Price Is Right wheel. (This video at 0:12.) I want the first round of buttons to be presented for the user to tap the screen and make his choice, which would lead to a second round of buttons based on the first choice, and a third round based on the second choice. I've done a number of different google searches, but nothing so far. Any ideas?

• Can I exclude files from Rhythmbox library by filetype?

  I use Band-in-a-box ("BIAB") to create backing tracks to practice my guitar-playing, and keep the source files (filetype .MGU) created by BIAB in the same folder as the MP3 files derived from them. Because I share this folder with colleagues via Dropbox, I'm not in a position to move the .MGU files elsewhere. Every time I start Rhythmbox ("RB") it checks my music folders, and reports "Import Errors" on all the .MGU files. RB apparently ignores a number of unplayable filetypes in music folders - is there a way of adding .MGU to this group? I know I can just ignore the Import Errors, but one of these days there will be an error I would have wanted to know about.

• Facebook likes reset after moving to HTTPS

  I've got a question regarding the Facebook like button. We worked on a piece recently that embeds a number of social share buttons (please see the source code below). When the piece was released, it was on HTTP, and received over 2k likes (the URL 'slug' hasn't changed at all). The site was recently migrated to permanent-on HTTPS, and the like data has been reset, and we've been left with 50 new, recent likes. If you see in the source code, the URL is set explicitly to like the HTTP version, which I believe to be correct. Can anyone help me work out what's happened here?   I want to purchase a number of 3D models from TurboSquid and animate them in an XNA game. I wrote a lot of games from 1985-1999 and have recently become involved with XNA. Now I would like to port one of my old games to the XBOX. I do have a background in 3D animation; but that was years ago. What is the current method for animating a walk cycle with a 3D model and using it inside XNA? Is there a book, software or a tutorial that you can recommend?   I have two WordPress multisites under one domain - city-x.domain.com and city-y.domain.com. domain.com is a landing page where you select your city, and a cookie will redirect the user to that city on subsequent visits. I'd like to be able to track the number of hits on all pages on domain.com, city-x.domain.com and city-y.domain.com separately and combined. How is this On a side note, I've heard that GA underestimates hits. As this is important for advertising purposes, is there a better free service?

  I am getting a "Package Operations Failed" message at the 95% mark of each download. Details show "Reading database" for each 5 percentage segment until Reading database ... 95%dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error aborting: failed in buffer_read(fd): files list for package `gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly' I have tried to download a number of piece of software (most recently PDF Editor) and am getting the same message at the same point in the download. Is there something wrong with my Ubuntu version, a virus or is it the software being downloaded? Using 10.04 LTS. P.S. Same problem when trying to download updates.

• How can I do individual file encryption on Dropbox?

  I'd like to set a single directory inside Dropbox in which files are encrypted on a file-by-file basis. At the moment, I use a 2Mb Truecrypt container inside my Dropbox which I then have to mount manually, access/change the files within, then unmount manually. At that point, the entire 2Mb uploads to Dropbox. This is a pain for a number of reasons : Dropbox sync will only occur when the Truecrypt container is unmounted, because Dropbox only syncs files that aren't locked and mounting a container locks it. A single byte change to one file inside that container results in the whole 2Mb being uploaded again. It doesn't scale - I was originally using a 10Mb container, but obviously the bigger the container, the longer it takes to sync when it's unmounted. I was wondering if I can somehow use LUKS to implement file-by-file encryption to get round the "container" issues.

  I'm looking for a label to describe the practice of using human-based computation methods or other means of "faking" an algorithm for the sake of getting a product or demo off the ground quickly without spending the time to develop an technical/scalable/analytical solution? Eg: using Amazon Turk to count the number of empty tables in a restaurant. I'm also looking to learn more about this subject, but not sure what to search for.
