    basic question, but I'm unsure: I want to draw 4 short lines 1px lines on a view. What is the best way to approach this task? Options:- Load an image of the line, can create 4 UIImageViews with it. Create my own subclass of a UIView that draws a line in the draw rect method. Draw elsewhere on another view, another UIImageView that has an UIImage inside it (is this possible?) Another way? Thanks Ross

    Is it correct that if we have a BufferedImage object in java, we could potentially write it out in ANY format using ImageIO.write (if we have a Writer object for the same)? I tried writing a BufferedImage object into a jpg file, it outputted an empty image file however when i tried writing it in to a png file, it worked fine.

  • Is there any reason why we don't use subclasses of UIImageView ?

    Hey everyone, I am currently trying to create a subclass of UIImageView in order to make it download its image from server asynchronously ;) I tried to do it by myself but I haven't gone very far yet :D Anyway, I looked around here and found this : AsyncImageDownload I had a look at the code and the first which springs to mind is : why subclassing a UIView and not a UIImageView ?!?     I want to set a youtube video to 100% width so that it scales appropriately in a dynamic width column on a web page I am designing. The problem is that the height doesn't behave like the height of an image. Instead of scaling proportionately, it either collapses (if set to "auto" or left blank) or it scales seemingly random if set to a percentage. How can I get it to remain proportionate while still dynamic?

  • FileReference.load() not populating FileReference.data.

    I am trying to use the load method of FileReference object to load the data and use it to display a thumbnail of the selected image. However, after calling fr.load(), fr.data remains null. I'm using Flex Builder 3.0.2 on Windows 7 with Flex SDK 3.4 and Flash Player 10 Debug. If I evaluate fr.load() in Eclipse's watch variables list, I get an error reading "No such variable: load." Anyone know why this is happening?

  • How do you disable the Windows Phone 7 splash screen?

    Hi, Is there any way to disable the WP7 splash screen and just show a blank screen? My splash screen only stays on for less than half a second, leaving the user with a rather jarring sensation. I'd rather they not see any splash screen at all. I would have simply used a plain black image as my splash screen, but then that would result in an ugly experience for people using a light theme (since my app's background is white on light themes and black on dark themes) Thanks!

    Previously attoparsec was suggested to me for parsing complex binary file formats. While I can find examples of attoparsec parsing HTTP, which is essentially text based, I cannot find an example parsing actual binary, for example, a TCP packet, or image file, or mp3. Can someone post some code or pointer to some code which does this using attoparsec?
