  I've found a number of posts about this but none seem to help me directly. Also there seems to be confusion about solutions working or not working during different stages of FluentNHibernate's development. I have the following classes: public class MappedClass { ... } public enum MyEnum { One, Two } public class Foo { ... public virtual IDictionary<MappedClass, MyEnum> Values { get; set; } } My questions are: Will I need a separate (third) table of MyEnum? How can I map the MyEnum type? Should I? What should Foo's mapping look like? I've tried mapping HasMany(x = x.Values).AsMap("MappedClass")... This results in: NHibernate.MappingException : Association references unmapped class: MyEnum

• Nhibernate equivalent of LinqToEntitiesDomainService in RIA

  Hi, When using Entity Framework with RIA domain services, domain services are inherited from LinqToEntitiesDomainService, which, I suppose, allows you to make linq queries on a low level (client-side) which propagate into ORM; meaning that all queries are performed on the database and only relevant results are retrieved to the server and thus the client. Example: var query = context.GetCustomersQuery().Where(x => x.Age > 50); Right now we have a domain service which inherits from DomainService, and retrieves data through NHibernate session as in: virtual public IQueryable<Customer> GetCustomers() { return sessionManager.Session.Linq<Customer>(); } The problem with this approach is that it's impossible to make specific queries without retrieving entire tables to the server (or client) and filtering them there. Is there a way to make linq querying work with NHibernate over RIA like it works with EF? If not, we're willing to switch to EF because of this, because performance impact would be just too severe. • Error setting up thrift modules for python

• openvpn: after changing to server mode, client does not create TUN device

  i had a previously working configuration with the config files used in a previous question However, i've changed this now to the following configuration using server mode, everything on the logs seem fine, however the client doesn't create any tun interface, so i don't have anything to connect to, presumably, i need to add or push some route commands, but i don't have any idea at this point what i need to do. • Flex HTTPService security error using Safari

  I'm using the HTTPService object in actionscript to send some data to a php file on another server which then inserts the data to a database. I set up the crossdomain.xml file in the root of the directory that contains the php file to get around any security issues. Everything works fine on Firfox 3.5 (on mac and pc) and on IE 7 & 8. When testing on Safari 4 I get an error which would be expected when a crossdomain.xml doesn't exist. [RPC Fault faultString="Security error accessing url" faultCode="Channel.Security.Error" faultDetail="Destination: DefaultHTTP"] at mx.rpc::AbstractInvoker/http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex/mx/internal::faultHandler() at mx.rpc::Responder/fault() at mx.rpc::AsyncRequest/fault() at DirectHTTPMessageResponder/securityErrorHandler() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction() at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent() at flash.net::URLLoader/redirectEvent() Any ideas on how to get this to work on Safari? It's seems as if Safari isn't accessing the crossdomain.xml file.

• Java update/install via group policy

  I trying to deploy the latest Java RE version via GP, Java 7 update 9. I want to update computers that are currently running an older version of Java, a mixture of 7.6 and 7.7, some computers are running versions as old as 6.31. Some are running a mixture of both. I would also like this GP to install Java if it's not installed. Previously I used push out Java updates to users machines as Java didn't remove the old version. So when it was done the user would restart their browser or pc to start using the latest version. Not the best way to manage it as it leaves the old version installed but it worked. I've created group policies before for printer deployment, log on drive mapping scripts, but never software deployment. I've extracted the Java MSI and created a transform file to suppress reboot etc using orca. As described on this site http://ivan.dretvic.com/2011/06/how-to-package-and-deploy-java-jre-1-6-0_26-via-group-policy/. I have also tried saving the edited MSI directly and that didn't work either. But it just won't deploy. I have tried to enable logging as suggested on this site http://openofficetechnology.com/node/32, GPO logging via UserEnvDebugLevel, Software deployment logging via AppmgmtDebugLevel and MSI logging, but there is no log C:\Windows\Debug\UserMode\userenv.log being created.   I am maintaining a legacy Microsoft Access application that is using the Microsoft Flexgrid 6.0. It recently started causing the following error: Run-time error '438' Object doesn't support this property or method People say that this error can be caused by the KB960715 security update being applied, which sets killbits on various ActiveX control methods which were deemed a security risk. But this or no other security update has been applied recently. Others say that installing Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 6 Cumulative Update will update the flex grid. This requires VB6 to be installed as a prerequisite so I installed that on my PC and then the update, and retrieved the updated MsFlxGrd.ocx file(Version: 6.1.98.12) and copied to the application machine, but the error still prevails. Someone here says you can disable the killbit in the registry. But there are afew hundred nodes in the location they suggest, none of which has the same guid as the one they point out. Any ideas?

  Using C# (VS2008) and WIA - scanning to TIFF format; When I use the scanner for 1 page on the flatbed or document feeder the method executes without any problem. When I load multiple forms into the feeder the execution halts after scanning the first page (keeping status: "scanning to pc") but does not scan the next document(s). The method returns the stream of the first page and halts - am able to save the stream and everything; just am lost at what to do next... What statement am I missing? What am I missing here? TIA!

  Hi, I recently deploy an application that uses asp.net membership (SqlMembershipProvider) and I dont know why but it automatically log out after 1 minute of inactivity. This doesn´t happen on my development environment. I even set the userIsOnlineTimeWindow to 60 which is supposed to be in minutes. Any ideas why this is happening? Im deploying to a virtual directory on a shared hosting environment.   I have a list of 1,000,000 strings with a maximum length of 256 with protein names. Every string has an associated ID. I have another list of 4,000,000,000 strings with a maximum length of 256 with words out of articles and every word has an ID. I want to find all matches between the list of protein names and the list of words of the articles. Which algorithm should I use? Should I use some prebuild API? It would be good if the algorithm runs on a normal PC without special hardware.

  In an iPhone app where I use cocoahttpserver and take a sqlite database file from the iPhone and download it with a browser to my PC, when I look at the downloaded file using TextEdit, I see the text (below) at the end of the file. This text has apparently no effect on use of the database file, but I would prefer to not add stuff to the database file at all. Any ideas where this header info is coming from in cocoahttpserver and how to stop it? • Can GhostScript run in Medium Trust

  I am using GhostScript to generate some thumbnails of PDF pages in an ASP.NET application. I have it wrapped in this library called GhostScriptSharp that just uses DllImport to call methods in the GhostScript DLL. It looks like this wont work on a medium trust hosting environment, either because of the fact that it is calling unmanaged code, or that it looks like the library is creating files all over the place (outside my virtual directory). I ran Process Monitor and saw it trying to Read, QueryNameInformationFile, CreateFile and QueryStandardInformationFile in places like: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Halftone\Default or C:\gs\gs8.63\lib\Halftone\Default or C:\gs\font\Halftone\Default Any ideas about whether this is "fixable" to run in medium trust? If I can't use GhostScript, is there another free/open source library that WILL work in Medium trust?

  Hi all, I've written a ASP.NET app that I hope to sell to businesses, I could host the trial but it's designed to connect to the customers data so customers will certainly want to install it to do a successful evaluation. I've never produced anything commercial before so I'm looking for advice on how best to limit the trial, a 30 day trial seems most common, do you simply rely on the clock of the PC/Server they install it on?   I am attempting to backup a database from a SQL Server instance on one machine and restore it to another, and I am encountering the frequently discovered 'SQL Server cannot process this media family' error. Each of my instances are SQL Server 2008, but with different patch levels Restore: 10.0.2531.0 Backup: 10.0.1600.22 ((SQL_PreRelease).080709-1414 ) The restore DB is express. Not sure about the backup version. The backup version is on a virtual private server. The restore is on my development box. When I restore to a different database on the source (backup) server, it restores fine. Lots of stuff on google about this issue, some on stackoverflow about this issue, but nothing which is this exact situation. Any thoughts? It should be straightforward to do a backup and restore from one machine to another (having done this thousands of times in with SQL 6.5,7,2000,2005).

• Why load increase ,ssd iops increase but cpu iowait decrease?

  There is a strange thing on my server which has a mysql running on it. The QPS is more than 4000 but TPS is less than 20. The server load is more than 80 and cpu usr is more than 86% but iowait is less than 8%. The disk iops is more than 16000 and util of disk is more than 99%. When the QPS decreases, the load decreases, the cpu iowait increases. • open webim ( Mibew Messenger ) time out, reconnecting

  hi, i hope you guys know about webim a.k.a mibew messenger. I know only java, jsp and no idea about php except for some basics. Anyways, i ran this app in my apache2.2 local server. Everything works superb! But if i change my db to a virtual machine and give its address in the config.php (previously i had used localhost), in the visitors page, i get timeout, reconnecting. Login has no prob, so my guess is db connection is fine. I even changed the default page refresh time from 2 to 10. Nothing happens. Still same thing. You guys have any idea?

• Photoshop JSX script- CLOSE PHOTOSHOP!

  How do I close photoshop using its javascript scripting language. (I am automaticly scripting a great deal of things, and I notice that for one reason or another, some of the ram is not releasing with each new task. My hopes are that after X ammount of operations, I will fully close photoshop, to free up the ram.. which it is eating up all of my 8 gigs, and after which then opens photoshop help and causes a huge failure (actually, to be honest it fills up my hard drive with junk till I get a "hard drive is full" message... (I think it is dumping the ram into virtual ram on my hard drive?)... what a mess)THANKS!!

• Response.TransmitFile() with UNC share (ASP.NET)

  In the comments of this page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/12s31dhy.aspx ..it says that TransmitFile() cannot be used with UNC shares. As far as I can tell, this is the case; I get this error in Event Log when I attempt it: TransmitFile failed. File Name: \\myshare1\e$\file.zip, Impersonation Enabled: 0, Token Valid: 1, HRESULT: 0x8007052e The suggested alternative is to use WriteFile(), however, this is problematic because it loads the file into memory. In my application, the files are 200MB, so this is not going to scale. Is there a method in ASP.NET for streaming files to users that's: scalable (doesn't read entire file into RAM or occupy ASP.NET threads) works with UNC shares Mapping a network drive as a virtual directory is not an option for us. I would like to avoid copying the file to the local web server as well. Thanks

  The existing application is in C#. During startup the application calls a virtual method to make changes to the database (for example a new revision may need to calculate a new field or something). An open OleDb connection is passed into the method. I need to change a field width. The ALTER TABLE statement is working fine. But I would like to avoid executing the ALTER TABLE statement if the field is already the appropriate size. Is there a way to determine the size of an MS Access field using the same OleDb connection?
