• Differences between Django ugettext and ugettext_lazy

  I keep rereading the Django's internationalization documentation and still don't understand when and why should I use django.translation.ugettext_lazy as opposed to django.translation.ugettext? I understand that using ugettext_lazy means that I will deffer from translating the string until the very end. Is it because Django parses the Accept-Language request header or the request.URL for the language code very late during the execution, which would mean that I may not be targeting the user's preferred language code if I was using ugettext? Would that ultimately mean that I should only use ugettext if I want to enforce that the message gets explicitly translated to the language specified in settings.LANGUAGE_CODE, or the currently active language as per django.translation.get_language()?

• SYSTEM_HANDLE_INFORMATION structure

  From where does this structure originates? I know that it is declared in famous ntdll.h and is a part of undocumented windows API. But isn't it vary between different versions of windows? Is there a way to dump this structure from working system? I tried 'dt SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in Windbg and 'type SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION' in SoftIce but all I get is 'no such symbol' message. I also dumped ntoskrnl.pdb with PdbDump.exe and searched among the dumped structures - and could not find neither SYSTEM_HANLDE_INFORMATION nor SYSTEM_HANLDE. Could you help me?

• Nullable One To One Relationships with Integer Keys in LINQ-to-SQL

  I have two objects (Foo and Bar) that have a one-to-zero-or-one relationship between them. So, Foo has a nullable foreign key reference to Bar.ID and a (nullbusted) unique index to enforce the "1" side. Bar.ID is an int, and so Foo.BarID is a nullable int. The problem occurs in the LINQ-to-SQL DBML mapping of .NET types to SQL datatypes. Since int is not a nullable type in .NET, it gets wrapped in a Nullable<int>. However, this is not the same type as int, and so Visual Studio gives me this error message when I try to create the OneToOne Association between them: Cannot create an association "Bar_Foo". Properties do not have matching types: "ID", "BarID". Is there a way around this?

  when we bind to heterogeneous collection of objects, not all objects have the same set of properties. in the output window we get a message like: System.Windows.Data Error: 39 : BindingExpression path error: 'RoundingFactor' property not found on 'object' ''MultiLineTextMarkingScheme' (HashCode=7262386)'. BindingExpression:Path=RoundingFactor;.......... This doesn't appear to be an exception, but we are concerned it has a performance impact. Should we be concerned and create a view model that has all the properties we wish to bind to (and have the properties that dont exist on the underlying element return null) or can we just leave it. This situation often occurs in a grid scenario where there might be large numbers of these binding failures.

• jQuery Block UI: node is undefined

  I'm close to finishing an app that uses quite a bit of JS. Recently Firebug started throwing an error that says "node is undefined", referring to data.parent = node.parentNode; on line 209 of jQuery blockUI plugin Version 2.31 (06-JAN-2010) @requires jQuery v1.2.3 or later. I'm using jQuery 1.4.2 When I remove the code from my page that triggers the Block UI action, the error is still there. So it does not seem to be an issue in my code but an "error" in the file itself, or perhaps some kind of conflict with another file? For info my code is below. My IDE is highlighting some syntax errors in here but it does that even when there are none.   Hi, i'm currently using SoapUI Free edition 3.2-beta 2. And i have a weird problem with a Xpath assertion: I have this in response: (...) And i'm using this xpath to assert that the "niveau" with id='2' is in the response: Xpath expression; //*:niveau[@id='2'] & the expected result is : but i have this error message: XPathContains comparison failed, expecting [ ], actual was [null] but if i try this : exitsts(//*:niveau[@id='2']) & the expected result is : True it works !!? But this syntax is quite difficult to read & lmaintain & i would like to use the 1st syntax (i ve tried to ignore namespace, add them.. stil doesnt work). Any idea ? Regards

  I just installed VS2010 RC and launched the FullDuplex sample from NServiceBus 2.0.0.1145 and it ran fine. I then changed the target framework of each project in the solution to ".NET Framework 4", recompiled and launched in the debugger and received the following exception: System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled Message=No endpoint configuration found in scanned assemblies. • Flash CS4 AS3 Security Sandbox Violation

  Hi, I have build my entire website with flash and embedded several swf objects (slideshows) into it. everything always worked fine when I published it as swf movie. but now that I want to upload my website an error message occurs saying: Error #2044: Unhandled SecurityErrorEvent:. text=Error #2140: Security sandbox violation: file:///mylayout.swf cannot load file:///slideshow_1.swf. Local-with-filesystem and local-with-networking SWF files cannot load each other. I know that it has something to do with the fact that one of the swf is local with filesystem and the other local with networking. but in my publish settings i told it to access local files only. but it didnt help. does anyone have an answer?

  I inherited a project (lucky me!) which relies on a static library. Trying to build the static lib, I get this error: /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: -dynamic not specified the following flags are invalid: -ObjC It is followed by these two lines, which I do understand, but this appears to be a separate problem (missing file.) /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: can't locate file for: -lFlurryWithLocation /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool: file: -lFlurryWithLocation is not an object file (not allowed in a library) Command /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/usr/bin/libtool failed with exit code 1 Am I wrong, and it's all related? Will the 1st line error go away if I fix the missing file part? Either way, what does the -dynamic not specified part of message mean? Thanks!

• Installing flex on Mac Parallels

  Hello folks, I am trying to install Flex 3 on my Windows 7 Virtual machine (parallels desktop) on my Mac Pro. The problem seems to be some sort of conflict between the copy of Flex 3 Builder installed on Mac OS X. The installer tries to install Flex in x:/Program Files/Adobe/Flex Builder 3/ but since Parallels Desktop connects all directories, there resides the Flex Builder 3 installation of MAC. • asp.net connection reset with long running process

  In an asp.net web form, I keep getting a connection reset error message. The page is doing a some long running processing (about 2-5 minutes). I have no problem when the web request comes from the same machine as the web server. But when the request originates across the network, I get a connection reset error about 1:30 or 2 minutes into waiting for a response. I have set the in web.config for this application and put the application it's own application pool. What else can I try?

  I'm unable to debug a WinForms C# application using the released version of Visual Studio 2010 Prof. I get the following error message after the second debugging run. Error 9 Unable to copy file "obj\x86\Debug\Arrowgrass Reports.exe" to "bin\Debug\Arrowgrass Reports.exe". The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\Arrowgrass Reports.exe' because it is being used by another process. I've tried a pre-build script to attempt to delete this file, but it's locked by Visual Studio. There are a few references to this on the net so it is a know problem. Does anyone have a hotfix or effective work-around?

  Just thought I'd ping this community to see if there's any knowledge on this issue. On android phones SMS messages registered to applications also get sent to the device's inbox. However to prevent clutter, it'd be nice to be able to remove app specific SMS mesg's from the inbox to reduce the potential overflow of those messages. Questions on other google groups on getting a definitive answer on a programmatic way to delete SMS messages from the android inbox don't seem to be pressing. So the scenario: Android App startup. register SMS message types X,Y and Z messages P,Q,X,Y,Z stream in over the course of time, all deposited in inbox Android app detects receipt of X,Y,Z (presumably as part of the program interrupt event) process X,Y,Z Desirement!!! • Unable to open word file (MSWord 2007) when word automation program is running

  In my application i am using word automation to get the text content from the file. It is working fine no issues. But at the instant when word automation is processing, if i open the word file, it is throwing a dialog with message (any file) "This file is in use by another application or user. (C:\User\xyz\AppData...\Normal.dotm)". When close the dialog, it asking for save the file "normal.dotm"...template file. This happens only in MSWord 2007 not in MSWord 2003. can any one tell the solution please.

  I'm working on sending out an html based email, and every time it sends the image src tags and some of the anchor href tags are modified to be relative url's. Update 2: This is happening between when the body of the email is generated and sent and when it arrives in my inbox. Update: I am using Postfix on a LAMPP server. • Does ActiveCollab subversion integration work with subversion over ssh?

  I'm trying to setup a repository in an ActiveCollab project. During setup, it reports that the connection tests successfully. However, when I try to actually update the repository, I get the following message: Could not obrain the highest revision number for the given repository. If I try to browse the repository, the following error comes up: Fatal error: Call to a member function getRevision() on a non-object in /u/sites/activecollab/webroot/shared/activecollab/activecollab/application/modules/source/controllers/RepositoryController.class.php on line 357 Is this because of trying to access the repository via svn+ssh plugin rather than http? Or did something happen on the ActiveCollab end? The repository is accessed fine via other means -- only ActiveCollab has the problem.

  We have JSF web application that generates XLS file and gives user link to thes file. All works fine if access this file via HTTP. But IE(8) cannot open/save this xls file via HTTPS. There is following error message: Internet Explorer cannot download ...466088C5C313F92808BDB0AFF3447 from testhost. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. I can open the same document via HTTPS in Firefox and in Chrome. What can be the problem with IE?   I'm attempting to connect a ColdFusion application to a DB2 ODBC DSN. Here's my error message: Connection verification failed for data source: <DSN NAME> java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket][IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30082N Attempt to establish connection failed with security reason "24" ("USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID"). • Is Objective C fast enough for DSP/audio programming

  I've been making some progress with audio programming for iPhone. Now I'm doing some performance tuning, trying to see if I can squeeze more out of this little machine. Running Shark, I see that a significant part of my cpu power (16%) is getting eaten up by objc_msgSend. I understand I can speed this up somewhat by storing pointers to functions (IMP) rather than calling them using [object message] notation. But if I'm going to go through all this trouble, I wonder if I might just be better off using C++. Any thoughts on this?

• "Executing SQL directly; no cursor" error when using SCOPE_IDENTITY/IDENT_CURRENT

  There wasn't much on google about this error, so I'm askin here. I'm switching a PHP web application from using MySQL to SQL Server 2008 (using ODBC, not php_mssql). Running queries or anything else isn't a problem, but when I try to do scope_identity (or any similar functions), I get the error "Executing SQL directly; no cursor". I'm doing this immediately after an insert, so it should still be in scope. Running the same insert statement then query for the insert ID works fine in SQL Server Management Studio. Here's my code right now (everything else in the database wrapper class works fine for other queries, so I'll assume it isn't relevant right now): function insert_id(){ return $this->query_first("SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() as insert_id"); } query_first being a function that returns the first result from the first field of a query (basically the equivalent of execute_scalar() on .net). • Biztalk Ordered Delivery direct bound to multiple ports

  Hi, another ordered delivery problem. We have an orchestration which is bound to a send port which has ordered delivery true. Another send port also picks up these messages through filtering, this port also has ordered delivery. Now for some reason when there are multiple ports using the message and one of these is directly port binded only one of the ports is being used. I mean that not both ports give an output. If i unenlist one of the ports it's always outputted, this works in both ways. We used to have this with 2 ports which both used filters instead, this worked but we had to change one to a direct port, the problem occured since then. Also the choice of ports for BizTalk is pretty random, because on our server it for example chooses port A and when I recreate the same problem on my local machine it for example choses port B. It's kind of a weird problem and we have no idea what could be the cause.
