• Are vb.net eventArgs maintained at a "system" level?

  I have a custom developed control I am using that somebody else wrote. For some reason, when the control was written, they did not write an event handler for the "mouseDown" event so when I mouseDown on the control, no event is fired. What I am basically trying to do is capture which mouse button (left or right) is pressed when the control is clicked on. Is there any sort of system level objects that maintain system state (including which mouse buttons are currently being pressed regardless of the control being clicked upon?)

• Append to a webpage in javascript

  What I want to do is that: a webpage with continuously updating content. (In my case is updating every 2s) New content is appended to the old one instead of overwriting the old one. Interestingly in Chrome, the lines being printed out continuously, which is what I am looking for. I know that document.write() is called when the page is loaded according to this. • Double Buffering for Game objects, what's a nice clean generic C++ way?

  This is in C++. So, I'm starting from scratch writing a game engine for fun and learning from the ground up. One of the ideas I want to implement is to have game object state (a struct) be double-buffered. For instance, I can have subsystems updating the new game object data while a render thread is rendering from the old data by guaranteeing there is a consistent state stored within the game object (the data from last time). After rendering of old and updating of new is finished, I can swap buffers and do it again. Question is, what's a good forward-looking and generic OOP way to expose this to my classes while trying to hide implementation details as much as possible? Would like to know your thoughts and considerations. I was thinking operator overloading could be used, but how do I overload assign for a templated class's member within my buffer class? for instance, I think this is an example of what I want: doublebuffer<Vector3> data; data.x=5; //would write to the member x within the new buffer int a=data.x; //would read from the old buffer's x member data.x+=1; //I guess this shouldn't be allowed If this is possible, I could choose to enable or disable double-buffering structs without changing much code. • Authorization and Jquery dialog problem.

  Hi, I have a little problem with a Jquery dialog for an action that requires a role. In my example, the user can click on a delete button and must confirm the action. In my controller, the Delete action requires a role, if the user is in the required role, the object is deleted. The problem: How to alert the user if * the element was deleted (redirect to the Index view) * there was an error (alert with the message) * he doesn't have the rights to delete (alert with the message) Before using the authorize filter, the delete action returned a JSON with a Boolean that indicates if there was an error, an URL to redirect on success and a message to alert on error. As I can't return a JSON from my filter, I created an other method with the authorize filter that returns a partial view with the confirm content. If the user doesn't have the rights, the filter returns a partial view with an unauthorized exception content. The problem: How to distinct which partial view was returned. When I create the dialog, I need to know for the buttons function. Thanks!

  Hi, I have 2 models, Assessments and Questions. Assessments have many questions. • Can parser combination be made efficient?

  Around 6 years ago, I benchmarked my own parser combinators in OCaml and found that they were ~5× slower than the parser generators on offer at the time. I recently revisited this subject and benchmarked Haskell's Parsec vs a simple hand-rolled precedence climbing parser written in F# and was surprised to find the F# to be 25× faster than the Haskell. • jQuery slideDown: Parent element doesn't expand?

  Hi, This issue occurs in our beloved Internet Explorer 7: I have a list of items, each with a hidden child div. When user clicks the "expand" button in any list item, the hidden div will expand downwards and push all content beneith it lower. This works just as it should in FF, Chrome, IE8 - but IE7 will not expand the parent element along with its children. This is noticeable because the top-most parent container has an absolutely positioned image at the very bottom (yea... rounded corners) - that doesn't get pushed down when the content expands. I'm guessing that's because of the absolute positioning... Just wondering whether I should attempt to code up some huge workaround in jQuery just for that (assuming I'm able to), or if this is a known issue of some sort.   This is not a pure java question and can also be related to HTML I've written a java servlet that queries a database table and shows the result as a html table. The user can also ask to receive the result as an Excel sheet. Im creating the Excel sheet by printing the same html table, but with the content-type of "application/vnd.ms-excel". The Excel file is created fine. The problem is that the tables may contain non-english data so I want to use a UTF-8 encoding.   Hi, I'd like to have the same Jetty server configuration, created programatically. When I run mvn jetty:run-exploded, my app works fine. When I run it from my code, the static content is not loaded.   I have applied CSS style to JavaFX components and it looks like everything is working fine except one situation: when I add JavaFX components to component tree on-the-fly their CSS styles are not applied. I noticed that: Components added dynamically look just like style information was not applied. If you set their style in JavaFX code then everything works fine. After changing stylesheets property (so that it points to another valid stylesheet) the objects already added render properly. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? I could of course put all the properties into JavaFX code or provide another stylesheet (for every existing stylesheed) that would contain the same data and change stylesheet right after adding any component, but I would like to find some elegant solution.   I would like to create a cacheable HTTP response for a POST request. My actual implementation responses the following for the POST request: HTTP/1.1 201 Created Expires: Sat, 03 Oct 2020 15:33:00 GMT Cache-Control: private,max-age=315360000,no-transform Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8 Content-Length: 9 ETag: 2120507660800737950 Last-Modified: Wed, 06 Oct 2010 15:33:00 GMT ......... But it looks like that the browsers (Safari, Firefox tested) are not cacheing the response. In the HTTP RFC the corresponding part says: Responses to this method are not cacheable, unless the response includes appropriate Cache-Control or Expires header fields. However, the 303 (See Other) response can be used to direct the user agent to retrieve a cacheable resource. So I think it should be cached. I know I could set a session variable and set a cookie and do a 303 redirect, but I want to cache the response of the POST request. Is there any way to do this? P.S.: I've started with a simple 200 OK, so it does not work. Thanks,

  Hey all... I'm trying to figure out how to use PayPal's IPN and I've run into a wall. I want a buyer to be forwarded to a success page after making a purchase, and I want that page to show the details of their transaction. I choose IPN instead of the PDT because I also want to do some other behind the scenes stuff with their data.
