  • Usage of Biztalk Adapter without Biztalk Server to connect .NET and SAP

    - by Kottan
Is it possible to use the Biztalk adapter pack whithout a Biztalk installation (biztalk license is available)? I want to use the Biztalk Adapter for SAP to do RFC calls within a .NET Application (as a replacement of the SAP Connector for .NET, which is unfrotunately no longer maintened by SAP and I don't want to use third party products). Makes this idea sense or not ? This questions can be also seen in conjunction of my question concerning connecting SAP and Microsoft (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2198168/microsoft-and-sap)

  • Silverlight OOB Application Path Portability

    - by jws
Silverlight Out-of-browser applications get installed to a seemingly random location: AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\Silverlight\OutOfBrowser\2333572144.www.microsoft.com for example. Currently, I am simply storing this path, which works perfectly well on a single machine and a single install, but how can I refer to this application between different installations?

  • WPF: How to specify units in Dialog Units?

    - by Ian Boyd
i'm trying to figure out how to layout a simple dialog in WPF using the proper dialog units (DLUs). i spent about two hours dimensioning this sample dialog box from Windows Vista with the various dlu measurements. Can someone please give the corresponding XAML markup that generates this dialog box? (Image Link) Now admittedly i know almost nothing about WPF XAML. Every time i start, i get stymied because i cannot figure out how to place any control. It seems that everything in WPF must be contained on a panel of some kind. There's StackPanels, FlowPanels, DockPanel, Grid, etc. If you don't have one of these then it won't compile. The only XAML i've been able to come up with (uing XAMLPad) so far: <DockPanel xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"> <Image Width="23" /> <Label>Are you sure you want to move this file to the Recycle Bin?</Label> <Image Width="60" /> <Label>117__6.jpg</Label> <Label>Type: ACDSee JPG Image</Label> <Label>Rating: Unrated</Label> <Label>Dimensions: 1072 × 712</Label> <Button Content="Yes" Width="50" Height="14"/> <Button Content="Cancel" Width="50" Height="14"/> </DockPanel> Which renders as a gaudy monstrosity. None of the controls are placed or sized right. i cannot figure out how to position controls in a window, nor size them properly. Can someone turn that screenshot into XAML? Note: You're not allowed to measure the screenshot. All the Dialog Unit (dlu) widths and heights are specified. Note: 1 horizontal DLU != 1 vertical DLU. Horizontal and vertical DLUs are different sizes. • Error using nservicebus with nettiers

I'm using the nservicebus springbuilder(below) with compiles and runs fine. However once I add a single DataRepository entry in the code to call nettiers the project compiles but throws an exception on the line below: IBus Bus = Configure.With().SpringBuilder() .XmlSerializer() .MsmqTransport() .IsTransactional(true) .PurgeOnStartup(false) .UnicastBus() .ImpersonateSender(false) .LoadMessageHandlers() .CreateBus() .Start(); Exception: {"Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=1.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. • Two locations of gacutil.exe

    - by bmw0128
I'm developing on Windows 2008 R2 Server, 64 bit. I'm learning how to use gacutil.exe I found two copies of this file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bin\x64 C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bin\ I built a dll in VS2007, then I added a build post event, that calls gacutil.exe to transfer the dll to GAC. Does it matter which gacutil.exe I use?

  • Does each authenticated WCF client connection need a CAL?

    - by Sentax
Just like the title says. Does each authenticated WCF client connection to a WCF server that you have developed need a windows CAL? http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/client-licensing.aspx Microsoft's licensing on that page sure makes it sound like it, but I can't find anything out there that confirms, or even denies this. Anyone know?

  • Why does Visual Studio 2010 throw this error with Boost 1.42.0?

    - by ra170
I'm trying to recompile application, that compiles fine with warning level 4 in visual studio 2005 and visual studio 2008. Since the errors (look below) are coming from std:tr1, I'm thinking there's some conflict, but not sure how to fix. My first thought was to remove all references to boost, such as but then I get an error that it can't find format method. So here's one of the errors: (not sure what it means) Any ideas, suggestions, solutions? • MVVM: how to set the datacontext of a user control

    - by EVA
Hi, I'm writing an application in WPF, using the MVVm toolkit and have problems with hooking up the viewmodel and view. The model is created with ado.net entity framework. The viewmodel: public class CustomerViewModel { private Models.Customer customer; //constructor private ObservableCollection<Models.Customer> _customer = new ObservableCollection<Models.Customer>(); public ObservableCollection<Models.Customer> AllCustomers { get { return _customer; } } private Models.Customer _selectedItem; public Models.Customer SelectedItem { get { return _selectedItem; } } public void LoadCustomers() { List<Models.Customer> list = DataAccessLayer.getcustomers(); foreach (Models.Customer customer in list) { this._customer.Add(customer); } } } And the view (no code behind at the moment): <UserControl x:Class="Customers.Customer" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" mc:Ignorable="d" xmlns:vm ="clr-namespace:Customers.ViewModels" d:DesignHeight="300" d:DesignWidth="300" xmlns:toolkit="http://schemas.microsoft.com/wpf/2008/toolkit" > <Grid> <toolkit:DataGrid ItemsSource="{Binding AllCustomers}" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedItem, Mode=TwoWay}" AutoGenerateColumns="True"> </toolkit:DataGrid> <toolkit:DataGrid ItemsSource="{Binding SelectedItem.Orders}"> </toolkit:DataGrid> </Grid> </UserControl> And dataaccesslayer class: class DataAccessLayer { public List<Customer> customers = new List<Customer>(); public static List<Customer> getcustomers() { entities db = new entities(); var customers = from c in db.Customer.Include("Orders") select c; return customers.ToList(); } } The problem is that no data is displayed simply because the data context is not set. I tried to do it in a code-behind but is did not work. I would prefer to do it in a xaml file anyway. Another problem is with the SelectedItem binding - the code is never used. Thanks for help! Regards, EV.

  • IIS7 ISAPI Filter Module & HttpModule Events - How do they line up?

    - by MikeGurtzweiler
So IIS7 in Integrated Pipeline mode uses a IsapiFilterModule to shim ISAPI filter DLL's and fire off the correct "events" on the filters, which is quite different than previous versions of IIS or IIS7 in classic mode because this means that HttpModules fire off right along side ISAPI filters in Integrated Pipeline mode. So does anyone happen to know how ISAPI events (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms524855.aspx) and the HttpModule events (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998536.aspx) line up?

  • Why Windows 7 isn't written in C#?

    - by Joan Venge
I saw a similar question about the reason Google Chrome wasn't written in C#. But with the upcoming version of Windows and Microsoft's flagship language, I am having a hard time understanding why Microsoft isn't pushing C# to its fullest potential to give it more exposure via their market share? In addition can be interpreted as "Is C# and the .Net framework suitable to run a modern OS like Windows 7" Btw this is not a flaming question, but curiosity. I use C# daily and really love it.

I'm currently using the Microsoft.XMLHTTP object, but I'm not tied to it if that doesn't support multipart POST. Does anyone know any reason why 'gethostname' is not recommended on IPv6?

  • Does the FAT filesystem have a signature?

    - by DxCK
Given the following BPB: The "MSWIN4.1" string is just the "OEM ID" field, and by Microsoft documentation it should not be used to identify FAT volumes. The "FAT32 " string is the BS_FilSysType field, and by Microsoft documentation it should not be used to identify FAT volumes either. So how do i identify that the volume is formatted to FAT? Is there any reliable signature I can relay on?

  • Silverlight ControlTemplate and F#

    - by akaphenom
Has anybody had any success incorporating a Silverlight ControlTemplate into an F# Silverlight application. I am trying to add transitions to the Navgiation.Frame element and following along on with a C# example: http://www.davidpoll.com/2009/07/19/silverlight-3-navigation-adding-transitions-to-the-frame-control The downloaded source uses the MSBUILD:Compile option on the template XAML and the file is included as a "Page"... ILDASM doesn't show any object created for the XAML; In my project I incldued it as a "Resource" (same as I have done for my pages) and referenced it in app.xaml: <Application xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="Module1.MyApp"> <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="/FSSilverlightApp;component/TransitioningFrame.xaml"/> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Application.Resources> </Application> the TransitioningFrame.xaml is as follows: <ResourceDictionary xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:navigation="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Navigation" xmlns:toolkit="clr-namespace:System.Windows.Controls;assembly=System.Windows.Controls.Layout.Toolkit"> <ControlTemplate x:Key="TransitioningFrame" TargetType="navigation:Frame"> <Border Background="{TemplateBinding Background}" BorderBrush="{TemplateBinding BorderBrush}" BorderThickness="{TemplateBinding BorderThickness}" HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}"> <toolkit:TransitioningContentControl Content="{TemplateBinding Content}" Cursor="{TemplateBinding Cursor}" Margin="{TemplateBinding Padding}" HorizontalAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" VerticalAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" HorizontalContentAlignment="{TemplateBinding HorizontalContentAlignment}" VerticalContentAlignment="{TemplateBinding VerticalContentAlignment}" Transition="DefaultTransition" /> </Border> </ControlTemplate> </ResourceDictionary> My page objects all load their respective xaml with the follwoing code: type Page1() as this = inherit UriUserControl("/FSSilverlightApp;component/Page1.xaml") do Application.LoadComponent(this, base.uri) and somewhere in app startup: let p1 = new Page1() I donot have a comparable piece for the ControlTemplate - though I was hoping the application object and App.xaml would pull it in magically (as an aside, the reliance on this magic has made setting up a 100% f# silverlight application rather tricky - as nearly all the published articles I find are based around wizards and short cuts - very little on the acual plumbing - ugh). Any advice or thougts on the subject are appreciated.

  • Adding ComboBoxItem to a combobox inside a user control (XAML/WPF)

    - by byte
I am currently learning to create custom controls in WPF. I successfully created a simple custom control using a Label and a Text Box. I was able to allow setting the Label text by DependencyProperty. Now I am creating a user control that has a ComboBox. I need to allow adding items to this ComboBox from outside the control. To achieve this, I tried exposing a DependencyProperty of type ItemsCollection and it will allows access to the ComboBox's Items property (the DP in my control sample is named 'CbItems'). But I get errors because Items property of Combobox is ReadOnly. Control XAML <UserControl x:Class="MyWpfApp.Controls.MyControl" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Height="Auto" Width="Auto"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition /> <ColumnDefinition /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Label Grid.Column="0" Content="{Binding FieldLabel}"></Label> <ComboBox Name="cmb" Grid.Column="1" Width="150"></ComboBox> </Grid> </UserControl> MainWindow XAML <Window x:Class="MyWpfApp.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:ctl="clr-namespace:MyWpfApp.Controls" Title="Window1" Height="300" Width="300"> <Grid> <ctl:MyControl> <ctl:MyControl.CbItems> <ComboBoxItem>Hello</ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem>World</ComboBoxItem> <ComboBoxItem>Hi</ComboBoxItem> </ctl:LobCombox.CbItems> </ctl:LobCombox> </Grid> </Window> I would like to know what the correct way is to achieve this functionality. I believe the answer to this might also help with other controls like GridView etc Many Thanks
