  I have a Windows 8.1 machine with Hyper-V installed. From a "clean" Hyper-V configuration I open Virtual Switch Manager, create an External switch with "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter", click OK. Everything seems to work properly but the host loses network connectivity. Opening Device Manager, the "Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter" is shown under the Network Adapter section with a yellow triangle, and the following message: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) An object ID was not found in the file. I tried "Uninstalling" the device, seems to work, but the device doesn't actually remove. I tried removing and re-adding the Hyper-V feature completely, no difference. Tried scf /scannow, no problems. System and Application logs show no errors. The Hyper-V-VMMS Networking log shows the following: Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS-Networking Source: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS Date: 10/24/2013 10:53:07 AM Event ID: 26088 Description: Failed to apply static IP settings to internal Ethernet adapter {A813DE9A-BE70-4FAE-AD31-BE4D54505A4B} ('885435B8-BE65-4EE9-826D-AB56035237ED'): Unspecified error (0x80004005). If I try to remove the Virtual Switch in Hyper-V Virtual Switch Manager I get this in that same log: Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS-Networking Source: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS Date: 10/24/2013 11:19:47 AM Event ID: 26142 Description: Failed while removing virtual Ethernet switch. Trying to remove the Virtual Switch leads to an error: Error applying Virtual Switch Properties changes Failed while removing virtual Ethernet switch. VM Networking does work.

  Hi, My W2K3 server was running TFS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Development edition. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard. I installed it while leaving SQL Server 2005 alone. Upgrading was not possible due to the differences in editions of the SQL Servers. Now TFS is broken. On a client computer, if I go Team - Connect to Team Foundation Server, I get this error: Team Foundation services are not available from server myserver. • Port forwarding on Fortigate 50B

  I have serious problems setting up port forwarding on a Fortigate 50B. The unit is basically running as factory default, the wan1 interface is connected to my fibre optic internet modem, and my lan is connected to the internal switch of the Fortigate. The factory default firewall policy allowing traffic from the internal interface to wan1 is kept and I'm able to access the interet as normal. Then I added a virtual ip and a firewall policy for allowing access from the internet to my local servers (ip 192.168.9.51) webserver (standard port 80). The settings I made are as follows. Edit Virtual IP Mapping Name : Server VIP External interface : wan1 Type : Static NAT Extermal IP Address/Range : 0.0.0.0 Mapped IP Address/Range : 192.168.9.51 Port Forwading : not checked Firewall policy Source interface/Zone : wan1 Source address : all Destination interface/Zone : internal Destination address : Server VIP Schedule : always Service : HTTP Action : ACCEPT no other settings checked What happens now is that I'm unable to access internet from my server, I'm not getting through to the webserver from internet either. I'm able to ping a site on the outside, but all web traffic is blocked, both ways. I've checked the documentation, but as far as I can tell I have set this up correctly. Anyone here with knowledge of Fortigate port forwading/NAT?

• Windows Server 2008 R2 DFSR Backlog Troubleshooting - Where to look for the cause of the problem?

  Our target server indicates it has hundreds of thousands of backlogged transactions. Our authoritative source server indicates it has no backlogged transactions. No replication is taking place. Tests with plain text files aren't replicating. dfsdiag propogation tests fail to propogate. I've restarted the DFS services. I've restarted the servers. I've created new DFS shares to test with. The authoritative source server indicates it has no backlogs and the target indicates it has backlogs (which are the files it's waiting to receive). Files don't replicate in either direction. 2x Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard servers One server is at each of two sites The DFSR shares are on each respective server \site_1_server_1\users \site_2_server_1\users The sites are connected by a T1 DFSR worked for a week. I added a new share, another folder on the same servers, and that replicated for a weekend but never finished. Then all replication stopped. Is Windows DFSR flaky? What tools should I use and what should I look at to identify what's causing this problem?

• WDS's MDT DeploymentShare and REMINST replicated with DFS-R does not read WIM from local WDS

  I've read several guides on using DFS-R with WDS and MDT to replicate REMINST and DeploymentShare, and I have a particularly strange problem. On the receiving server, after configuring WDS and mounting the DeploymentShare into MDT's DeploymentWorkbench, I also performed the following: 1) in .\Control\Bootstrap.ini, changed DeployRoot to \%wdsserver%\DeploymentShare$ 2) Changed the UNC path at the root of the MDT Deployment Share in the DeploymentWorkbench to match that of the current server. 3) In Unattend.xml files located: .\Control**, modified the following value to match the current server: <cpi:offlineImage catelog://HOST/ I am able to boot and grab the LiteTouch PE image off the local WDS TFTP server, but the WIM files, the scripts, everything else is being pulled off the WDS server at the remote site (the original WDS server that was the source of the files within the DFS-R replicated folder). What do I do in order to solve this problem? I've grepped all the files below the DeploymentShare to look for instances of the hostname of the WDS server at the remote site (the source of the files), but I found none.   Hi guy, I would like to update my php 5 in my server. At this moment, I use php 5.2.0 so I want to update it to php 5.2.4 (not php 5.3).
