    Apologies, this is a tragically simple question that will bore most of you. I need to implement the simplest "leave your email and we'll contact you" web page. The simplest thing I could think of is doing an HTML form which calls a PHP script which appends the data in some file on the server. Easy to implement, but now I'm wondering if it's totally hackable. Is it? Are there obvious better ways that are still simple? thanks f

  • Using PHP5s SOAP Client to send data to an ASP/.NET based SOAP server.

    I am trying to write a snippet of PHP to connect to a third party's API via SOAP to enter some data into their database. The API requires me to pass several mandatory fields for every call (username, password, companyid, entitytype) in addition to the mandatory data fields. It also requires me to call the "ValidateEntity" funciton before calling the "CreateEntity" function. Documentation can be found here: http://wiki.agemni.com/Getting_Started/APIs/Database_API I have never worked with SOAP before, so I am very new to this.     I would like to load an XML file every 30 seconds and display its contents inside an HTML page. So far I know how to load the file, but I don't know how to automatically refresh it and display its updated contents. It would also be great if it did some error checking and if it displayed error.png image when it's not able to load data.xml file. It is supposed to return a positive checksum for a buffer in OpenGL Here's the C part.     Consider the following code performing operations on complex numbers with C/C++'s float: float real_part = log(3.f); float imag_part = 0.f; float real_part2 = (imag_part)*(imag_part)-(real_part*real_part); float imag_part2 = (imag_part)*(real_part)+(real_part*imag_part); The result will be real_part2= -1.20695 imag_part2= 0 angle= 3.14159 where angle is the phase of the complex number and, in this case, is pi. Now consider the following code: float real_part = log(3.f); float imag_part = 0.f; float real_part2 = (-imag_part)*(-imag_part)-(real_part)*(real_part); float imag_part2 = (-imag_part)*(real_part)+(real_part)*(-imag_part); The result will be real_part2= -1.20695 imag_part2= 0 angle= -3.14159 The imaginary part of the result is -0 which makes the phase of the result be -pi. Although still accomplishing with the principal argument of a complex number and with the signed property of floating point's 0, this changes is a problem when one is defining functions of complex numbers. For example, if one is defining sqrt of a complex number by the de Moivre formula, this will change the sign of the imaginary part of the result to a wrong value. How to deal with this effect?

    Hi, we are building a PHP script that we need at work to create reports in PDFs the reports will be created by using templates from postgrSQL. so far I found that it can be done with the use of php and odt (openoffice) files [http://www.odtphp.com/] (do you have any other suggestions?) now how I can convert the results to PDF so teachers will get the final reports as PDF any tips? the server has no GUI and I want to make it as simple as possible we tried using PHP to PDF directly with FPDF [http://www.fpdf.org/] but it is really a CPU killer! cheers
