• Setting the height of a row in a JTable in java

  I have been searching for a solution to be able to increase the height of a row in a JTable. I have been using the setRowHeight(int int) method which compiles and runs OK, but no row[s] have been increased. When I use the getRowHeight(int) method of the row I set the height to, it does print out the size I increased the row to, so I'm not sure what is wrong. The code below is a rough illustration how I am trying to solve it. My class extends JFrame. String[] columnNames = {"Column 1", "Column 2", "Column 1 3"}; JTable table = new JTable(new DefaultTableModel(columnNames, people.size())); DefaultTableModel model = (DefaultTableModel) table.getModel(); int count =1; for(Person p: people) { model.insertRow(count,(new Object[]{count, p.getName(), p.getAge()+"", p.getNationality})); count++; } table.setRowHeight(1, 15);//Try set height to 15 (I've tried higher) Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong? (code: 3) so, there are two errors. i'm pretty sure if the renaming works, i won't even need the mkdir, but who knows... can anyone tell me why these are errors and how to fix them? thanks!

• When I Add <DIV> Bottom Scroll Bar Appears, Even Though It Is Not Greater Than The Page Width

  I have searched for this with no answer. My page loads up perfectly when I load the header, navigation and then center image...all 3 different divs. However I have more I need to add and the div tags change the size of the page even though the css I'm using isn't larger than the page. I have no idea what is happening. • Ruby on Rails: Uploading a modifed site.

  I'm having a heck of a time getting a site I modified to work correctly. I didn't set the site up originally, and since the person that set it up no longer works with me I had to learn ruby just to make some changes. I made all the changes in the development server and everything worked fine. Then I did a diff on the production and development and moved only my changes over. Unfortunately when I loaded my changes onto the production server I got a lot of errors. I've changed all of the permissions to 755, which took care being able to access anything at all, but after that I started getting a lot of 500 errors. Nothing showed up in the production.log file. I really have no clue what's going wrong except that perhaps things are not noticing the new changes. I moved the old site to a backup folder, and the new site crashes whenever it goes to anything that I've changed. In particular, I added a link to a new setup with an extra controller/model/view group. It works fine on development but in production it gives me a 404. Yes, I did copy all the files up. I even put everything back how it was, but the website is still showing the broken version of it. I checked the tmp/cache folder but it was empty. Running dispatch.fcgi shows the old site (which I expected) but it still shows the flawed new site when I connect through a browser. I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this to work. Any ideas as to how I can get this to work?

• Query about running a program through valgrind and getting false results comparing to other systems.

  Yesterday i posted this: What's the problem with this code? [hashtable in C] and paxdiablo offered to help me. He posted a sample of code and asked me to run it through valgrind on my machine. This code normally generates: 12,4 But on my machine, i get 24,8. The doubled! I'm just curious why is that happening. Hope sb has a good explaination.   hi Friends, I was trying to make an app which also had the facility to let user select wallpaper he would like to set. I have managed this by calling the Gallery Intent. Once the user selects a specific image, the data path of the image is returned to me which then i preview to the user by setting the image onto an imageview. The problem crops up when the image size (and/or resolution) is greater than what android expects. This results in failure of my module. And as if this was not enough, wen the user tries to select some other wallpaper(and in my test case the "other" wallpaper was also of size 700kb) then the app crashes with the "OutOfMemoryException"... Helppp me here guys!!! For Gallery Intent i use: Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.setType("image/*"); intent.setAction(Intent.ACTION_GET_CONTENT); startActivityForResult(Intent.createChooser(intent, "Select Picture"),SELECT_IMAGE); For setting the wallpaper i use: InputStream is = getContentResolver().openInputStream(Uri.parse(uri_returned_from_intent)); Bitmap bgImage = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(is);//OutOfMemory error thrown here setWallpaper(bgImage); So i have 2 problems to deal with: How to crop the image before setting it as wallpaper... • Can TFS workspaces be used without being tied to a specific machine?

  So I've got a situation where we have a project with 10 developers. Each developer, when they come in for the day, is randomly issued a machine to use for development that day. The machine names are different, say DEV01 - DEV10. At the time that they are issued to the developers, the machines are identical, and no changes the developers make during the day are persisted on the machines (source code changes are stored in TFS, not locally). These are of course actually virtual machines, but that's not really relevant to the point at hand. The problem is that each morning, the developers run into 3 issues: 1) The machine that they are assigned may not be the same machine they were last assigned to. For example, DevMan A might have used DEV04 yesterday, and received DEV06 today. His workspace definitions are now tied to DEV06; he must create a new workspace, or migrate the old workspace to DEV04. 2) The machine that they are assigned may have been in use yesterday, and some of the mappings may conflict. For example, DevMan A might have DEV04 today, and wish to create a workspace mapping the project folder to "C:\MyProj\Solution". However, DevMan B had DEV04 yesterday, and he used the same project folder. TFS now complains. 3) This may be the first time they are on a given machine. They now need to recreate for this machine all of their source-control mappings for the new machine. All of these issues can be resolved in a straightforward fashion on a case-by-case basis, but it does sap some productivity from the morning. We'd much prefer if the TFS workspace definitions could be 'relaxed', such that they did not include the machine name in the definition somehow. Barring that, if anyone is aware of a solution to the above problems that can run automatically, or with limited user intervention, that would also be ideal.

• Simple wxPython Frame Contents Resizing - Ratio?

  I have a wxPython app with one frame and one panel. On that panel are a number of static boxes, each of which has buttons and textboxes. I have just begun reading about sizers, but they seem like they might be more than what I need, or it could that they are exactly what I need but I don't know how to use them correctly! The frame currently opens at 1920 x 1080. If the user drags the bottom right corner to resize the app, I just want everything to get smaller or larger as needed to keep the same size ratio. Is this possible? Thank you! edit: additional info: I used wxPython 2.8 and Boa to construct the GUI. I am contemplating trying another gui ide. So after reading some more about sizers, I am thinking about doing the following: add a gridsizer and basically divide my window's elements into rows and columns, then set each row and column's size as necessary until I achieve the original layout. Then I guess set the rows and columns to resize correctly? Is this a decent idea?

• HTML input not working correctly with AJAX update panels used else where on page

  I have some update panels on my page that do some asyncpostbacks to keep some dropdownlists correctly populated. My problem is that on my page i have an HTML input that is handling some file uploads. With the AJAX on the page with asyncpostbacks, and while i step through my code behind, the files arent being uploaded. Using a postbacktrigger (non-async) is not possible because of my layout.   Hello All I am very new to JSF (v2.0) and I am attempting to learn it at places like netbeans.org and coreservlets.com. I am working on a very simple "add/subtract/multiply/divide" Java webapp and I have run into a problem. When I first started out, the application was enter two numbers and hit a '+' key and they would be automatically added together. Now that I have added more complexity I am having trouble getting the operation to the managed bean. This is what I had when it was just "add": <h:inputText styleClass="display" id="number01" size="4" maxlength="3" value="#{Calculator.number01}" /> <h:inputText styleClass="display" id="number02" size="4" maxlength="3" value="#{Calculator.number02}" /> <h:commandButton id="add" action="answer" value="+" /> For the "answer" page, I display the answer like this: <h:outputText value="#{Calculator.answer}" /> I had the proper getters and setters in the Calculator.java managed bean and the operation worked perfectly. Now I have added the other three operations and I am having trouble visualizing how to get the operation parameter to the bean so that I can switch around it. I tried this: <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="+" /> <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="-" /> <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="*" /> <h:commandButton id="operation" action="answer" value="/" /> However, Glassfish complained that I have already used "operation" once and I am trying to use it four times here. • Determining if an unordered vector<T> has all unique elements

  Profiling my cpu-bound code has suggested I that spend a long time checking to see if a container contains completely unique elements. Assuming that I have some large container of unsorted elements (with < and = defined), I have two ideas on how this might be done: The first using a set: template <class T> bool is_unique(vector<T> X) { set<T> Y(X.begin(), X.end()); return X.size() == Y.size(); } The second looping over the elements: template <class T> bool is_unique2(vector<T> X) { typename vector<T>::iterator i,j; for(i=X.begin();i!=X.end();++i) { for(j=i+1;j!=X.end();++j) { if(*i == *j) return 0; } } return 1; } I've tested them the best I can, and from what I can gather from reading the documentation about STL, the answer is (as usual), it depends. I think that in the first case, if all the elements are unique it is very quick, but if there is a large degeneracy the operation seems to take O(N^2) time. For the nested iterator approach the opposite seems to be true, it is lighting fast if X[0]==X[1] but takes (understandably) O(N^2) time if all the elements are unique. Is there a better way to do this, perhaps a STL algorithm built for this very purpose? If not, are there any suggestions eek out a bit more efficiency?

• How to count li which does not have ul ?

• Geohashing - recursively find neighbors of neighbors

  I am now looking for an elegant algorithm to recursively find neighbors of neighbors with the geohashing algorithm (http://www.geohash.org). Basically take a central geohash, and then get the first 'ring' of same-size hashes around it (8 elements), then, in the next step, get the next ring around the first etc. etc. Have you heard of an elegant way to do so? Brute force could be to take each neighbor and get their neighbors simply ignoring the massive overlap. Neighbors around one central geohash has been solved many times (here e.g. in Ruby: http://github.com/masuidrive/pr_geohash/blob/master/lib/pr_geohash.rb) Edit for clarification: Current solution, with passing in a center key and a direction, like this (with corresponding lookup-tables): def adjacent(geohash, dir) base, lastChr = geohash[0..-2], geohash[-1,1] type = (geohash.length % 2)==1 ? :odd : :even if BORDERS[dir][type].include?(lastChr) base = adjacent(base, dir) end base + BASE32[NEIGHBORS[dir][type].index(lastChr),1] end (extract from Yuichiro MASUI's lib) I say this approach will get ugly soon, because directions gets ugly once we are in ring two or three. The algorithm would ideally simply take two parameters, the center area and the distance from 0 being the center geohash only (["u0m"] and 1 being the first ring made of 8 geohashes of the same size around it (= [["u0t", "u0w"], ["u0q", "u0n"], ["u0j", "u0h"], ["u0k", "u0s"]]). two being the second ring with 16 areas around the first ring etc. Do you see any way to deduce the 'rings' from the bits in an elegant way?

• C# Combining lines

  Hey everybody, this is what I have going on. I have two text files. Umm lets call one A.txt and B.txt. A.txt is a config file that contains a bunch of folder names, only 1 listing per folder. B.txt is a directory listing that contains folders names and sizes. But B contains a bunch of listing not just 1 entry. What I need is if B, contains A. Take all lines in B that contain A and write it out as A|B|B|B ect.... So example: A.txt: Apple Orange Pear XBSj HEROE B.txt: Apple|3123123 Apple|3434 Orange|99999999 Orange|1234544 Pear|11 Pear|12 XBSJ|43949 XBSJ|43933 Result.txt: Apple|3123123|3434 Orange|99999999|1234544 Pear|11|12 XBSJ|43949|43933 This is what I had but it's not really doing what I needed. string[] combineconfig = File.ReadAllLines(@"C:\a.txt"); foreach (string ccline in combineconfig) { string[] readlines = File.ReadAllLines(@"C:\b.txt"); if (readlines.Contains(ccline)) { foreach (string rdlines in readlines) { string[] pslines = rdlines.Split('|'); File.AppendAllText(@"C:\result.txt", ccline + '|' + pslines[0]); } } I know realize it's not going to find the first "if" because it reads the entire line and cant find it.
