  • Regex, encoding, and characters that look a like

    First, a brief example, let's say I have this "/[0-9]{2}°/" regex and this text "24º". The text won't match, obviusly ... (?) really, it depends on the character encoding. Here is my problem, I do not have control on which chars the user uses, so, I need to cover all possibilities in the regex /[0-9]{2}[°º]/, or even better, assure that the text has only the chars I'm expecting °. But I can't just remove the unknow chars otherwise the regex won't work, I need to change it to the chars that looks like it and I'm expecting. I have done this through a little function that maps the "look like" to "what I expect" and change it, the problem is, I have not covered all possibilities, for example, today I found a new "-", now we got three of them, just like latex =D - -- --- ,cool , but the regex didn't work. Does anyone knows how I might solve this?

  • Deny Switching to Tabpage in a tabcontrol

    I have a form(C#) with a tab control and its has around five tab pages. each of the tab have a few textboxes. 1) if a User is in say Tab A and edits certain fields i need to validate the text enetered if found invalid then i should not allow any tab switch ? is that possible? 2) Another case could be ... user edits some values and clicks on another tab, on doing so i need to check if the values that were enetered for Tab A is correct or not ? can i do this? I am a novice to C#... so may be these questions sound very basic any help will be appreciated. also i want to know what are these events of a tab page Leave, validated or validating ?

    I watched this webcast recently, and I got the sense that a lot of the "cool stuff" from ASP.NET MVC is getting pulled back into the ASP.NET framework. At the moment I'm setting the ground-work for a project at my company using ASP.NET MVC, but after watching this, I'm beginning to wonder if that's the right choice, and whether it would behoove me to wait for ASP.NET 4.0. I realize ASP.NET MVC 2.0 is getting close to an actual release. If High-Testability, loose coupling, and having Full control of our HTML are top priorities, which should I choose, ASP.NET 4.0 or ASP.NET MVC?

    Hello. I`v made my custom NewForm.aspx for my list and I want to add some custom code to it. So I inherit that form from my own class: public class MyCustomNewForm : Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPage Now I want to reference some of available fields to automatically fill them for user. (Javascript won't help here as I have to get some data from other lists). But I have no idea how do I reference these fields from codebehind files. The code for control field is written (well, it was generated by Sharepoint Designer when using command Insert SharePoint Controls Custom List Form...) in .aspx page like this: <SharePoint:FormField runat="server" id="ff1{$Pos}" ControlMode="New" FieldName="Title" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff1',$Pos),'Value','ValueChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Title')}"/> When looking at id at runtime, it is insanely long So how do i reference fields, so I could set Text property on them in my codebehind file?

  • Disabling Alt-F4 on a Win Forms NotifyIcon

    I am using a NotifyIcon from Win Forms to make a systray icon for my C# application. I have a bug where if the user right clicks the icon for the context menu, they can press Alt-F4 and the icon will disappear from the tray, but the Main WPF application is still running. This is especially a problem when they have "minimized to systray" and the only control of the application is now gone. Anyone know how to handle this specificially on the systray? I've looked at the NotifyIcon documentation and there isn't anything relating to keypress events.

So because the page's controls' events run between the page's load and prerender events, is it true that whatever the begin task handler (handler for BeginAsync below) produces, it can't be used in the controls' events? So for example, if the handler gets data from a database, the data can't be used in any of the controls' postback events? Would you bind data to a data control after prerender?     I am trying to bind a combo box to a list of objects, and it works great, besides the selected value, am I missing somethign? <ComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding OrderInfoVm.AllCountries}" SelectedValuePath="country_code" DisplayMemberPath="country_name" SelectedValue="{Binding OrderInfoVm.BillingCountry}" /> Basically I want to bind value to country codes and set the selected value to the country code bound to OrderInfoVm.BillingCountry (which implements INotifyPropertyChanged) Initially when the control loads selected value is empty, but on click BillingCountry is populated. Selected value does not seem to change. How can I remedy that?

    I have ListView control in my application which is binded to the collection of CustomObject List<CustomObject. The CustomObject has seperate view. This ListView has seperate view model. The collection List _customobject is containted in the ListView ViewModel class. My Query: I want to invoke a view that show properties of custom object, when user double click on any row of ListView. The ListView double click command is binded to the ListViewDoublClick Command in the view model. The CustomObject is in the event argument of listview double click command. To acheive this I have to pass the custom object ( or an unique id property of custom object through which I can retrieve the custom object from the collection) as command parameter. Please suggest me the solution!!

    Hi, I have a wpf datagrid with many rows, each row has some specific behaviors like selection changed of column 1 combo will filter column 2 combo, and what is selected in row 1 column 1 combo cannot be selected in row 2 column 1 combo, etc... So I am thinking of having a view model for the main datagrid, and another for each row. Is that a good MVVM implementation? It is so that I can handle each row's change event effectively. Question is, how do I create "each row" as a user control view? within the datagrid.     For reasons beyond my control, I'm being tasked with Ruby web development that does NOT use Rails or really any other heavyweight framework such as Merb. I'm wondering if anybody else has encountered this and can recommend best practices or resources that describe best practices for such a problem. I'd like to avoid the dreaded out.print('<td class="foo">'+some_data+'</td>') style of web development. A coworker has suggested Rack as a light framework but the documentation is sketchy and it seems unproven in the market.

  • Programmatically retrieve disconnected network adapter information in .NET

    I have an application written in C# that needs to retrieve information like IP address, subnet mask from a disconnected network adapter. I've tried using various methods such as WMI and the .NET NetworkAdapter class but they don't return any useful data when the network adapter is disconnected. I'm pretty sure Windows keeps this information somewhere, since I can apply network settings using netsh and it appears correctly in the Control Panel. One thing that worked for me in XP was to parse the output of the netsh tool and it would return information even for a disconnected adapter. However, this doesn't seem to work on Windows 7. This template applies a CustomerView to an instance of the CustomerViewModel class shown in the main window. <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type vm:CustomerViewModel}"> <vw:CustomerView /> </DataTemplate> I substituted the angle brackets for square brackets - not sure how to post them. The code is in the MainWindowResourses.xaml and the code starts on line 19. Anyone know how I can do this in Silverlight ?? We don't have the DataType and I need to be able to tell the app that this View is associated with this ViewModel - so I can create a tab control with different view like the demo app. Cheers, EC

Currently,I know how to do a lazy implementation of the loading procedure of the nodes in a treeview control, and read the related questions in stackoverflow, but I'm also reading about IHierarchyData and IHierarchicalEnumerable interfaces in asp.net (I didn't know to code asp.net) that allow to bind a collection to a treeview in order to display the items automatically. It would like to know if I can do the same in winforms and C#. I think that the interfaces previous mentioned are not available in winforms. Thanks.

Can anyone see what the problem may be?

    I have noticed that when my computer in plugged in, the wireless strength increases. I'm assuming this is to do with power management. Is there a way to disable Wireless Power Management? I have found a few blog posts that show hacks to disable this but what is best practice here? Should there not be an option via the power menu that lets you toggle this?   • TFSBuild.Proj and Manual SQL Server Work Help?

    Using the VS 2008 GDR update, I have created a database project. I have created a SQL Server deployment package. I have created a database unit test. Using some wizards, the stuff got into my tfsbuild.proj file so near the end of the automated build process a database is created. I lack a little control of the whole process, I now see. What I would like to do is manually deploy the DB, run 3 custom scripts against the DB, and then manually start the DB unit test. I have other non-DB unit tests that already run. I do not want to use VSMDI or ordered unit test stuff because in out multi-developer environment it gets messy. Help!

Product and LocatorID are, in combination, the primary key. I'm guessing that EF is not allowing me to generate a new item without meeting database contraints? How does this make sense if I need to obtain a primary key from the user? I have control over all tiers of the application, so suggestions on database design if needed are also welcomed.

  • WPF tabcontrol styling

    I've got a UI with a fairly standard look and feel. It has a column of icons on the left side which when clicked open a different user control on the right side. Currently I'm using separate controls for the selection icons and the usercontrol containment. I'm having strange focus issues that I am tired of trying to mitigate and am wondering if I could style a tabcontrol to look like my UI (under the assumption a tabcontrol would not have focus issues when navigating tabs). Here is a screenshot of the basic UI. The styling is mostly about how to get the tabcontrols page selection to look like my column of icons. Anyone want to throw their hat in the ring as to how I might accomplish this with a tabcontrol? My xaml is pretty weak at this point.
