• ADFS 2.1 proxy trust establishment error

  I'm trying to install an ADFS proxy. In our intranet we have a ADFS 2.1 server running on Windows 2012 which is working fine. Now we're trying to deploy a proxy to this one for internet access, using Windows 2012 R2's Web Application Proxy. I'm getting the following error on the proxy server, event ID 393: Message : An error occurred while attempting to establish a trust relationship with the Federation Server. An error occurred when attempting to establish a trust relationship with the federation service. Error: Forbidden Context : DeploymentTask Status : Error I'm not getting any errors on the ADFS server. I've tried with different credentials. The ADFS service account, a domain administrator who is a member of the local administrators group on the ADFs server, and the local administrator account on the ADFS server. Same error message. Both port 80 and 443 is accessible from the proxy server to the internal ADFS server, and I can access the ADFS metadata endpoint from the proxy server. I'm using the same trusted SSL certificate (wildcard) on both machines. Do you have any ideas that can help me troubleshoot this problem?

• Disable Java Hardware Acceleration in windows?

  I have some issues with my graphics card and I want to disable Hardware Acceleration for java apps. Everything that uses HA is displayed blurry. I've seen some tutorials on how to set this parameter -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false The problem is that the Java Control panel itself is using hardware acceleration and I cannot see anything in order to add this parameter. Edit: Went to java control panel in safe mode, added that parameter and problem continues.. The first service I wanted to move to the commercial SSL cert was Webmin/Usermin...   Short version: Is it safe to do mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdd on a disk with a partition (dev/sdd1), filesystem and data? Will the partition be mountable and the data still there? Longer version: I used to have a raid6 array but decided to dismantle it. The disks from the array are now used as non-raid disks. The superblocks were cleared: sudo mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sdd The disks were repartitioned with fdisk and filesystems created with mfks.ext4. All disks where mounted and everything worked fine. • Latency between IIS and SQL on same physical, two VMs

  I have a single server (2x4 core CPUs, 32GB ram), that is a Windows Server 2012 Hyper V host, and it hosts two guest VMs (also Windows Server 2012 instances). One of them is a web server, the other is a SQL server. When hitting a page that loops over 50 records, there is noticeable latency. I capture/report the timings of each iteration on the loop, and each iteration is about 20-30 milliseconds. Of course, this amounts to over a second of latency for the whole loop. I thought maybe SQL needed to be tuned, but running profiler on it, the queries are showing almost 0 duration, so it seems the bottleneck is in transit between the two VMs. I have both VMs configured to use the actual NIC (vs. using a VNIC), so maybe that's part of my problem. Also, this is a classic ASP site, so it's using the SQL OLE DB provider, and I'm wondering if that is part of the problem. This is a new server setup, from an existing Windows 2003/IIS6 server setup where both web and DB run on the same server instance (no virtualization). On that setup, there is no such latency when looping over the cursor like this. But there are so many variables, I'm not sure where to start ruling things out.

  Over the past several days I have been trying to get the shadow to work with samba but haven’t been successful. Can someone check below config and let me know if I am missing something?   Today I lost the ability to see my Windows Server 2008 R2 shares from any of my 3 Windows XP machines in my small office. The 5 Win7 machines haven't been affected (they are still able to browse/access the 2008 server), but none of my WinXP machines can access the 2008R2 server anymore. Yesterday (and for the previous year) everything was working fine. I do not have a domain setup. I can still access Win7 shares from WinXP clients. Browsing the server logs, I see that the following update was installed last night: > Installation Ready: The following updates are downloaded and ready for > installation. I did hear that XP is reaching the end of the road soon. Any ideas?

• How can I use the Homebrew Python with Homebrew MacVim on Mountain Lion?

  I originally asked and answered this question: How can I use the Homebrew Python version with Homebrew MacVim? These instructions worked on Snow Leopard using Xcode 4.0.1 and associated developer tools. However, they no longer seem to work on Mountain Lion with Xcode 4.4.1. My goal is to leave the system's version of Python completely untouched, and to only install PyPI packages into Homebrew's site-packages directory. I want to use the vim_bridge package in MacVim, so I need to compile MacVim against the Homebrew version of Python. I've edited the MacVim formula to add these to the arguments: --enable-pythoninterp=dynamic --with-python-config-dir=/usr/local/Cellar/python/2.7.3/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/lib/python2.7/config Then I install with the command: brew install macvim --override-system-vim --custom-icons --with-cscope --with-lua However, it still seems to be somehow using Python 2.7.2 from the system. • Googlebot repeatedly looks for files that aren't on my server

  I'm hosting a site for a volunteer organization. I've moved the site to WordPress, but it wasn't always that way. I suspect at one point it was hacked badly. My Apache error log file has grown to 122 kB in just the past 18 hours. The large majority of the errors logged are of this form -- it's repeated hundreds of times today alone in my log files: [Mon Nov 12 18:29:27 2012] [error] [client xx.xxx.xx.xxx] File does not exist: /home/*******/public_html/*******.org/calendar.php [Mon Nov 12 18:29:27 2012] [error] [client xx.xxx.xx.xxx] File does not exist: /home/*******/public_html/*******.org/404.shtml (I verified that xx.xxx.xx.xxx was a Google server.) I suspect there was a security hole somewhere before, likely in calendar.php, that was exploited. The files don't exist anymore, but there may be many backlinks that exist that reference here, hence why googlebot is so interested in crawling them. How do I fix this gracefully? I still would like Google to index the site. I just want to tell it somehow not to look for these files anymore.
