• Cannot format first column in WxPython's ListCtrl

  If I set the format of the first column in a ListCtrl to align centre (or align right) nothing happens. It works for the other columns. This only happens on Windows - I have tested it on Linux and it works fine. Does anyone know if there is a work-round or other solution? • Master / Detail datagridview with relation from type string in C#

  Hello, I want to show a master / detail relationship using two datagridviews and DataRelation in C#. The relation between the master and the detail table is an ID from type string (and there is no chance to change the ID to type integer). It seems like the DataGridView is not able to update the detail view when changing the row in the master table. Does anybody know if it is possible to achieve a master / detail view using a string ID and if yes, how? Or do I have to use an external DataGrid from another company? Thanks for any help Daniel

  HI I wrote a udp server classlibray i hosted it in windows form and it works fine. When i debug the trace and debug messages shows in output. When i host the cl in a windows service none of the debug messages is showing. Both cl and windows service is in debug there is no tracelisteniners specified so it should use outputstring.I even put a messagebox.show in the cl just to make sure the function is getting called in the windows service and it does. So how do i get the trace/debgug message showing.The service is running as localsystem. What am i missing

  I have a WPF application which I am using to learn MVVM and IoC. The problem is that the Model used by one of the Views expects to pull one of its dependancies in the constructor from an IoC container. When working on this View in the Visual Studio designer it cannot show the design because an exception is being raised in the model. Is there a way around this? Am I pulling my dependancies in the wrong place in code or is there a way I can pass in constructed dependancies, perhaps through Constructor injection.   Say I have the following LINQ queries: var source = from workflow in sourceWorkflowList select new { SubID = workflow.SubID, ReadTime = workflow.ReadTime, ProcessID = workflow.ProcessID, LineID = workflow.LineID }; var target = from workflow in targetWorkflowList select new { SubID = workflow.SubID, ReadTime = workflow.ReadTime, ProcessID = workflow.ProcessID, LineID = workflow.LineID }; var difference = source.Except(target); sourceWorkflowList and targetWorkflowList have the exact same column definitions. But they both contain more columns of data than what is shown in the queries above. Those are just the columns needed for this particular issue. difference contains all rows in sourceWorkflowList that are not contained in targetWorkflowList Now what I would like to do is to remove all rows from sourceWorkflowList that do not exist in difference. • Hiding flash component scrollbars using object/param syntax

  Hi all, I'm not sure if this is possible (complete non-flash developer speaking), but we have a 3rd party component that we want to only show a certain topleft hand portion of. I've tried limiting the size of the HTML object container as: <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="415" data="<url>"> <param name="movie" value="<url>" /> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="flashvars" value="<vars>" /> </object> So limiting it to 600x415, but this causes horizontal and vertical scrollbars as part of the flash component to appear. Is there any standard way to override this behaviour? Thanks.

• Grails MySql processList

  Hello, i have a grails application with a webflow. I store my inner flow objects of interest in the converstaion scope. After entering and leaving the flow a few times, i see that the single user connected to the DB (MySql) generates a lot of threads on the MySql Server which are not released. The processlist in mysql show me the threads in sleeping mode and a netstat on the client shows me established connections to the mysql server. I assume the connections are held active and not released. But why is that? What do grails exactly do when entering and leaving a flow? Why are so many connections opened and not closed?   I have a Mission model that has_many Task, and the Task belongs_to Mission For security I've made this validation on the Task Model: validates_presence_of :mission_id validates_numericality_of :mission_id But the problem is that when create a Mission and add tasks like this: @mission.tasks.build The validation returns error, because the mission id on the task is null ( the mission wasn't yet created ) If I delete the validation, the Mission and Task is created successfuly, but how can I keep the validation and still have this work? I could do a callback after the save, but I don't think that's right, because I don't want to save Tasks without a mission_id. P.S. I'm hidding my mission field on the form. If I have it visible, it will show the currect mission and everything is ok. But if I hidde it the error happens. <%= f.hidden_field :mission, :label => "Missão" %> Is the form reseting the attributes given by the controller on the new action?

• How to control allowed HTML tags in WMD Editor?

  I am trying to some-how set the valid HTML tags and attributes users would be able to use in WMD Editor in my site. For example, I want to forbid the user to directly set the font size, color, typeface and so on, which is trivial to do with the default settings typing something like: <span style="font-size: 45px; color:#FF0000">Some intrusive text here</span>. I think the way to implement this is through the "wmd_options", but I have not found any documentation or reference regarding this, giving the fact that the 'Options demo' seems to be the only public documentation and it does not show how should I do what I have described above. I've send this same question to [email protected] but didn't get any reply. As stackoverflow uses this editor someone reading this or maybe Jeff knows the answer ;) Thanks in advance!

B) Sort by will contain by employee number, date of birth , Salary , and many more C) Filter by will contain like employee on vacation, or employee terminated etc etc. Now for a single webreport I am first taking a DataSource and binding data to labels. to achieve the above webreport I have to take 40 different Datasource and I have to assign to the labels? Should I be doing this?

• jList in Scrollpane, seeking and displaying value of selectedIndex

  I have a JList inside a Scrollpane. If you click on the list and move the arrow keys up and down it works like you expect, you can move your selection index and display around just fine. Now, what I want to do is basically have a text box and i'm typing in the text box like "comic" and want it to seek to the index of that value. This WORKS just fine. Where the problem is when the value of the list box is below, or above the viewable area. When it is, the selected index seeks, but does not change the position of the scrollable region. However, if I press the up or down arrows and requestFocus() to the list, and move up and down it seeks to the right viewable area. What am I missing to make this happen WITHOUT changing focus. I want to be able to just type in the list all I want and have it show me what is selected. I feel i'm missing something obvious here.

• Ruby on Rails Foreigner plugin not working for SQL Server

  Well, now that I've finally got my stupid ODBC stuff configured, I took a schema.rb file that I dumped from a Postgres database and did a db:schema:load on it in a Rails project configured for SQL Server. Well, it sets up all the schema in the SQL Server database except for a minor detail: No foreign keys are created. The rake command doesn't show any errors and does say it is adding foreign keys. But they don't actually get added. This is the last bit from the command: -- add_foreign_key("workhistoryform", "form", {:name=>"workhistoryform_form_rid_fkey", :column=>"form_rid", :primary_key=>"form_rid"}) -> 0.0002s -- initialize_schema_migrations_table() -> 0.0092s -- assume_migrated_upto_version(0) -> 0.0942s [earlz@earlzarch avp_msql_migrations]$ So what is the problem? Does the Foreigner plugin not work in SQL Server? If it didn't I'd expect to see an error or something...

• Android: videocamera, limit length of videos taken

  I'm working in Android and starting the video camera activity using ACTION_VIDEO_CAPTURE. Is there any way I can limit the length (in time) of the videos the user can take? I think this is possible if you use MediaRecorder, but I don't really fancy doing that since it's so much more complicated than using the simple ACTION_VIDEO_CAPTURE. Current code: Intent videoCaptureIntent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_VIDEO_CAPTURE); startActivityForResult(videoCaptureIntent,1); If it's not possible, does anyone know whether I could set a timer (TimerTask?) in Java and then show a Toast message after a certain length of time warning the user that they need to stop filming? (I'm a Java newbie, so I don't know if this is exactly what I need.)

Yeah ... its development is stuck (that's why there is now more active branch Qcubed) but it is still very good piece of software. Its main advantages: Event driven (something like asp.net) no spaghetti code Powerful code generation good ORM follows DRY very simple AJAX support is fun to write Since then I wanted to be trendy and checked Django but I cannot write normal request-based web application (it just doesn't feel right). Don't believe? chess.com is written with it and surely there are plenty others. My 2 questions are: Have you heard of it (PHP people)? • C# - Layout problem on Windows XP professional

  I am developing a C# application with .NET Framework 2.0. The problem is, that on my client's PC, the controls get expanded, layout changes (positions of the controls gets changed), sometimes buttons get missed entirely. It happens even on Forms with 2-3 TextBoxes, 2-3 Buttons and some Labels. I tried a lot of investigations. I tried to show a message in the form's resize event. But it doesn't get called. After digging a bit more, it seemed that in Designer.cs file even though ResumeLayout (false) is being called for the form, but this causes the the expansion/disposition of the controls. My Client is using Windows XP professional on his Dell laptop. He is able to reproduce the issue on other laptops with Windows XP professional. But not in other OSes (like Windows XP Home or Windows Vista). In my desktop with Windows XP professional, it is not reproducible. How can this issue be resolved?

  I have a dynamic video gallery and it works great on a computer. When moving to an iPad, the video starts loading and it shows the cannot play icon. Instead of this I'd rather the video not show until it's ready to play. I have tried to add events listeners for "canplaythrough" and "canplay" and when they occur for the video to fade in then play.
