  • Platform independent remote file editing

    I've been investigating possibilities on editing remote files from a website without having a need to download and upload the files manually while editing. So far I've ruled out WebDAV as a possibility since it is cumbersome to use on any platform (it either requires manual setup or works unreliably). Currently I'm looking in to various Applets, but they mostly target either uploading or downloading, not file editing. What I'm currently looking for is an applet that downloads the document, launches the application that is meant to open the file and then monitors the file for changes and uploads the changed file (either automatically or by prompting the user first). I know that I'm not alone with this scenario, so i'm looking for solutions that others have thought of.

    Hi gang, I've Html page that looks like: <HTML> <meta http-equiv='Content-Type' content='text/html; charset=gb2312'> <BODY onload='document.forms[0].submit();'> <form name="form" method="post" action="/path/to/some/servlet"> <input type="hidden" name="username" value="??"> <!-- UTF-8 characters --> </form> </BODY> </HTML> As you can see, the content of this page is UTF-8, but I need to send it with GB2312 character encoding, as the servlet that I am sending this page to expects from me GB2312. Is this a valid scenario? Because in the servlet, I couldn't retive these chines characters back using a filter that sets the character encoding to GB2312!! Please help

    I want to redirect from a old url which still appears in the google search to the new one. the old url is this: http://www.marionettecolla.org/file%20_mostra_milano/mostra_marionette-milano.htm and I want to redirect it to the home page: http://www.marionettecolla.org/ I used this in my .htaccess: Redirect http://marionettecolla.org/file\ _mostra_milano/mostra_marionette-milano.htm http://marionettecolla.org/ but I am getting Error 500... Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

    We are really in a mess. The following is what happened. We have taken backup of WSS_Content database. From Central Administration Page we remove the database. Added a new database for the website. Now we are getting the below error HTTP/1.1 404 Connection: close Date: Wed, 07 Apr 2010 10:04:54 GMT Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By: ASP.NET MicrosoftSharePointTeamServices: 12.0.0.4518 Even replacing the database not helping. Can someone help us??

    If I try: Groups = students.Remove(f => f.StudentID.Equals(studentID)); I get an error on this line: f => f.StudentID.Equals(studentID) I am having difficulty from my previous posts here linq deleted users still associated with groups and here Delete method in WCF So I thought maybe I could delete the students contained within groups but I get an error Cannot convert lamda expression to type Student because it is not a delegate type.

  • Working with three dimensional data in an HTML (ASP.NET) table.

    I am working on the prototype for a scheduling application on an intranet system. The application is for scheduling and tracking promotional workers at various locations on various dates (hence location, date, workers dimensions). Currently, only for prototyping, I am generating a data table of location/date, and from this I iteratively build an HTML table (asp:Table control). On visiting each cell, I query for people working that location-date and populate the cell accordingly. This is very inefficiant, and will at worst be improved by querying cached data for the whole location/date grid. I'm looking around for established patterns and techniques for dealing with scenarios like this in HTML in general, maybe a visualisation library for jQuery or something, and for ASP.NET in particular, maybe a library for implementation on a GridView etc. Am I going in the right direction with this, and if so, what recomendations are there regarding the previous paragraph?

Are there sites/scripts like the above which can make the output visible to all ? Something like a "guest book" script/form that you can edit the fields and the output will show immediately ?     Hi I have enabled mod_rewrite in my Xampp apache. When I run my php info page, I saw mod_rewrite under Loaded Modules. So I think it's enabled. Then I create a folder clean-url under htdocs. Inside clean-url folder I have 3 files 1) index.php here I put Welcome 2) Test. php 3) .htaccess Here I put RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^([a-z]+)/([a-z-]+)$ /$1/$2.php [L] I want to run the index page, and by clicking on that hyper link I want to display the test.php page with URL mydomain/clean-url/test I know I am in a wrong path. Does any one help me? Or correct me? ALso i don't know any idea about url rewriting and .htaccess. Please help me.

  • How to control access to third party HTML pages

    Hello, We have a Learning Management System (LMS) that runs on its own server (IIS/Server 2003). Students must login with Forms authentication to gain access to the content. We want to offer access to third party flash and audio that is embedded in HTML pages hosted on the third party server (IIS/Server 2003). Currently we use a frame in a pop-up window that is populated via a simple URL to the third party HTML pages. How can the third party control access to their content, so that only students who launch the pop-up windows from our site can access their content? Since the content is mostly video and flash, we would prefer not to stream all of their content through our server to the Student. We have a programming staff, so we could maybe... - either post or get for our HTTP request to the third party server - we could use SSL - we could programmatically assign a global NT user account to all of our users and then do some kind of Active Directory login from the LMS server to the third party server - could the third party content be hosted at Amazon S3? Would this allow for secure access/download? These are just ideas. We really have no idea. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA, Wylie

  • Is there a good in-browser code editor?

    We've all seen in-browser rich text editors, which allow you to edit colored/styled text in a WYSIWYG manner. But what about code editors, which automatically highlight code based on language rules as you type? Think Eclipse in a textarea (but without the refactoring support). Do such things exist? I imagine scaling would be a problem - larger files would be difficult to edit efficiently.
