  Hi, how do I pass a 2-dimensional array from javascript to ruby, please? I have this on client side: function send_data() { var testdata = { "1": { "name": "client_1", "note": "bigboy" }, "2": { "name": "client_2", "note": "smallboy" } } console.log(testdata); $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'test', dataType: 'json', data: testdata }); } and this on server side: post '/test' do p params end but I can't get it right. The best I could get on server side is something like {"1"=>"[object Object]", "2"=>"[object Object]"} I tried to add JSON.stringify on client side and JSON.parse on server side, but the first resulted in {"{\"1\":{\"name\":\"client_1\",\"note\":\"bigboy\"},\"2\":{\"name\":\"client_2\",\"note\":\"smallboy\"}}"=>nil} while the latter has thrown a TypeError - can't convert Hash into String. Could anyone help, or maybe post a short snippet of correct code, please? Thank you

  Hi Guys, I am using a wrapper class A which initializes the java.util.logger static class A { public static Logger logger; public static void init(){ logger = Logger.getLogger("test"); } Now, everywhere in my program I call A.init() and then logger.log("Message+uniqid"). But recently I moved to HTTP servlets and I am having problems. Basically, If a app is already running and the logger is logging... and someone else runs the app again, the logger from the previous instance stops and starts logging for the second one. Can anyone have a solution to how I should go about fixing this static variable issue? I can pass the logger into all constructor classes but thats really tedious. Any better solution would be appreciated..

• Why is XCode Organizer console sometimes empty when I connect my iPhone

  When testing my iPhone app I have found it incredibly useful to log information to the console window. I think it is amazing that I can send out an adhoc build to my co-workers and if they experience problems I am able to plug their iPhone into my mac and grab their console output. However, sometimes the console window is blank when we do this. Why is this the case? The code has been built with logging enabled. Besides that, it seems that the console output, when I see it, contains information about not only my app, but other iphone system logging. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

One supporter on "StackOverflow" gave me this three-step plan: Simulate normal login and save login page that you get; Save POST&GET headers with "Wireshark"; Compare login page with those headers and see what fields you need to include with your request; The problem here is that I have never used "Wireshark" before. Plus, I don't know what the POST&GET headers are. Can You, please, explain it to me (preferably with some example). Thank You.

• Backup & recovery of multiple MySQL databases (InnoDB & MyISAM)

  I am working on nightly and hourly backups of MySQL Databases. There are multiple MySQL databases which are either InnoDB or MyISAM (Note: Each database is either InnoDB or MyISAM for a reason). With the 2 different types I want to make sure I am grabbing everything that is needed for backup and recovery. Here is my current plan Nightly -mysqldump of each DB which is stored locally and remotely. Hourly -flush binary logs and store them locally and remotely. Weekly -expire binary logs older than a week. I feel like I am grabbing everything that is needed for the MyISAM databases but I am concerned about the InnoDB databases and the log files (ib_logfile0, ib_logfile1, ibdata1) they create. Should I backup these files? Nightly? Hourly? Both? Do I really need them if I am already doing the above nightly and hourly backups?

  I'm pretty new to Python so I am still just learning the language. One of the things I came across was reassigning sys.stdout to change the default output of print. So I wrote this as a test: import sys sys.stdout = open('log.txt','a') print('hey') sys.stdout.close() sys.stdout = sys.__stdout__ print('hi') Now the string 'hi' is not written to the file but it does not show in the default output either. When I assign some other variable to sys.stdout in the beginning and change it back it works, but I'm just wondering why its not changing back the first time.

• zoom_changed only triggers once in google maps api version 3 using MVC

  Hi, I'm trying to use the MVC objects in google maps version 3. What I can't seem to figure out is why my zoom_changed method is only invoked once. When I first load the map the zoom_changed method is invoked. For example, given a number x=52656145834278593348959013841835216159447547700274555627155488768 such algorithm must find y=log(x,2) which is 215. x is always a power of 2. The problem seems to be really simple. All what is required is to find the position of the most significant 1 bit. There is a well-known method FloorLog, but it is not very fast especially for the very long multi-words integers. What is the fastest method?

  For performance tests I need a way to measure the time needed for a form to load its definition from the DFM. All existing forms inherit a custom form class. To capture the current time, this base class needs overriden methods as "extension points": start of the deserialization process after the deserialization (can be implemented by overriding the Loaded procedure) the moment just before the execution of the OnFormCreate event So the log for TMyForm.Create(nil) could look like: - 00.000 instance created - 00.010 before deserialization - 01.823 after deserialization - 02.340 before OnFormCreate Which TObject (or TComponent) methods are best suited? Maybe there are other extension points in the form creation process, please feel free to make suggestions. Background: for some of our app forms which have a very basic structure (with some PageControls and QuantumGrids) I realized that it is not database access and other stuff in OnFormShow but the construction which took most of the time (around 2 seconds) which makes me wonder where this time is spent. As a reference object I will also build a mock form which has a similar structure but no code or datamodule connections and measure its creation time.

Can someone please demonstrate a working example with a code snippet that will allow me to combine. Note running nose to test doctest will just append the log output at the end of the test, (assuming you set the switches) it does not treat them as a print statement.

  I am trying to implement an automatic backup system for my EBS on Amazon AWS. When I run this command as ec2-user: /opt/aws/bin/ec2-create-snapshot --region us-east-1 -K /home/ec2-user/pk.pem -C /home/ec2-user/cert.pem -d "vol-******** snapshot" vol-******** everything works fine. But if I add this line into /etc/crontab and restart the crond service: 15 12 * * * ec2-user /opt/aws/bin/ec2-create-snapshot --region us-east-1 -K /home/ec2-user/pk.pem -C /home/ec2-user/cert.pem -d "vol-******** snapshot" vol-******** that doesn't work. I checked var/log/cron and there is this line, therefore the command gets executed: Dec 13 12:15:01 ip-10-204-111-94 CROND[4201]: (ec2-user) CMD (/opt/aws/bin/ec2-create-snapshot --region us-east-1 -K /home/ec2-user/pk.pem -C /home/ec2-user/cert.pem -d "vol-******** snapshot" vol-******** ) Can you please help me to troubleshoot the problem? Now i want to implement 3 things once he clicks the button 'log out' he must be redirected to a page saying" logged out successfully " n even if clicks the back button in the browser, he should not be able to access. if the user leaves the homepage idle for a specific amount of time say 10minutes and then he tries to navigate after 10 mins a msg should display saying "Your Session has been expired login again" if given the url of homepage he shouldnt be able to access unless logged in. • A tool or framework extension or code snippet for logging the internal state of objects?

  When spiking on how something works or when my unit test behave in an unpredictable manner I usually have to drop into debug mode. 99% of my time in debug mode is spent checking the values of fields on objects to verify its state. I already have log4net set up, it would seem that if I could easily add a line of code to log out the state of objects I could remove most of my need to start up the bulky debugger. The problem is of course that to expose object state implicitly you need to manually override each object's ToString() method. What I would like to be able to do is the ability to do logger.LogState(someObject) and have logged out the object state including at least a formatted list of all the private variables, references (to some arbitrary depth), and collections. Does anyone know a tool/framework/code snippet that can be used to generate a string of the internal state of any object? I could of course write one myself but its a non-trivial problem and I'd prefer something someone has put some thought into.

• Cannot combine commits using TortoiseGit

  I have two branches with several commits each. On one branch, I can go to the log, select two commits, and TortoiseGit shows "combine to one commit" in the context menu. On the other branch this option does not show in the context menu. Both sequence of commits is very similar; add file then modify it, so there is no difference really between the branches. What factors would cause this "combine to one commit" to not be available? I'm wondering if I should just switch to the command line.

• "Primary Filegroup is Full" in SQL Server 2008 Standard for no apparent reason

  Our database is currently at 64 Gb and one of our apps started to fail with the following error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not allocate space for object 'cnv.LoggedUnpreparedSpos'.'PK_LoggedUnpreparedSpos' in database 'travelgateway' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup. I double-checked everything: all files in a single filegroup are allowed to autogrow with a reasonable increments (100 Mb for a data file, 10% for a log file), more than 100 Gb of free space is available for the database, tempdb is set to autogrow as well with plenty of free HDD space on its drive. To resolve a problem, I added second file to the filegroup and the error has gone. But I feel uneasy about this whole situation. Where' the problem here, guys?
