• Problem with launching JAGUAR in R

  Windows XP, R 2.11.1, Java JRE6 I just installed the Jaguar package. From an R console, I can do this: > library(JGR) Loading required package: rJava Loading required package: JavaGD Loading required package: iplots Please use the corresponding JGR launcher to start JGR. Run JGR() for details. You can also use JGR(update=TRUE) to update JGR. and so JGR appears to be correctly installed. JGR() yields On Windows JGR must be started using the JGR.exe launcher. Please visit http://www.rosuda.org/JGR/ to download it. > I'm not sure how to run Jaguar - I know I have to run jgr.exe - but should R be already open? If so, should the JGR library be already loaded? I've tried all of these, and what seems to happen regardless is a console window opens briefly, then disappears. I've run jrg --debug, with no apparent error message: (same file regardless of choice made above). What should I be doing? Thanks! • xajax and codeigniter - blank page and xajax request URI error.

  I am unfortunately getting a blank page when trying to run a site locally. There are other people running it locally just fine, so I am wondering if it could be something to do with my LAMP environment. When I attempt to load the site, it's nothing but a blank page. I've ran php index.php in console and the error I get is the following "xajax Error: xajax failed to automatically identify your Request URI.Please set the Request URI explicitly when you instantiate the xajax object.". I'm not quite sure how to handle this in CodeIgniter and or at all to be honest.

  What's an efficient method (preferably simple as well) for communicating with a remote server and allowing the user to 'interact' with it (IE submit commands, user interface) via the web browser (IE a text box to input commands, and an text area for output, or various command-less abstracted interfaces)? I have the 'standalone' python code finished for communicating and working(terminal/console based right now). My primary concern is with re-factoring the code to suite the web, which involves establishing a connection (python sockets), and maintaining the connection while the user is logged on. some further details: currently using django framework for the basic back end/templates.

  In console .Net applications, the debugger breaks at the point of the throw (before stack unwinding) for exceptions with no matching catch block. It seems that Silverlight runs all user code inside a try catch, so the debugger never breaks. Instead, Application.UnhandledException is raised, but after catching the exception and unwinding the stack. To break when unhandled exceptions are thrown and not catched, I have to enable first chance exception breaks, which also stops the program for handled exceptions. Is there a way to remove the Silverlight try block, so that exceptions get directly to the debugger?

I've look everywhere, and people suggest me to use NSZombieEnabled on my executables environment variables. • RedirectStandardInput crashes program

  Hi, the following code is to open a console application (which uses pdcurses for output, nothing special): myProcess.StartInfo.FileName = "some.exe"; myProcess.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; myProcess.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = false; myProcess.StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput = true; myProcess.Start(); The Problem is that it opens the designated window but directly closes it (it's barely visible). Starting the program without RedirectStandardInput works. The problem is that it does not throw an exception nor any error-message. What is wrong with my code? How can I write input to the program?   Hi, I have a command line C++ program that lets you enter basic information about a person (ID number, name, age, etc.) and I want to output to a console in the following manner: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Index ID # First Name Last Name Age ------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 1234 John Smith 25 The person objects are stored in an array of Persons and I've overload the ostream (<<) operator to print out all of the fields like you see. The dashed lines and header come from a displayHdg() function. Anyhow, I have not been able to figure out how to get the proper index value for the array. Ideally, I'd like to generate the indices for each line, but all my attempts have failed. The array is looped through and each object printed in the main() function, and the ostream is overloaded in a person class, so I tried to use global variables as well as static variables, and all of those produce incorrect numbering (i.e. show 0, 1 the first time (for 2 objects), then change to 1, 2 on the next display). Any ideas?

  I'm working on a program which uses the System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break() method to allow the user to set a breakpoint from the command-line. This has worked fine for many weeks now. However, when I was working on fixing a unit test today, I tried to use the debug switch from the command-line, and it didn't work. Here's what I've tried: I've confirmed that the Debug() method is really being called (by putting a System.Console.WriteLine() after it) I've confirmed that the build is still in Debug I've done a clean build I've restarted Product Studio A quick Google search didn't reveal anything, and the API documentation for .Net doesn't mention anything about this function not performing correctly. So... any ideas?

• PyDev and Django: how to restart dev server?

  I'm new to Django. I think I'm making a simple mistake. I launched the dev server with Pydev: RClick on project Django Custom command runserver The server came up, and everything was great. But now I'm trying to stop it, and can't figure out how. I stopped the process in the PyDev console, and closed Eclipse, but web pages are still being served from http://127.0.0.1:8000. I launched and quit the server from the command line normally: python manage.py runserver But the server is still up. What am I doing wrong here?

  I created a console application in C# and running it on windows/.NET is 5x faster than on linux/mono or windows/mono. The app encodes some binary files into text format(JSON). • Geolocation Null in lat and long

  I have had issue today in one application where Geolocation is not working. Even on this page http://slaveryfootprint.org/survey/#where_do_you_live . When you enter a location , its showing null lattiude and longitude. Even though it search for autolocation, it can point the right location. and it happened all if a sudden today which was working fine since yestrday night and when I see in console it is returning null lat and long and null for city and I did not change the code at all. Did google map api changed something. or do I need to update jquery? http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?v=3.4&sensor=false

If I do console.log(findSelection();) it gives me getSelection(). Is there something I've done wrong?

  I have a JSON that returns from the server which tabs to build, so I init them in my JS like this: $('#tabs').tabs( 'ajaxOptions', { timeout: 20000, error: function(xhr, status, index, anchor){ console.log( status, index, anchor ); } }) .tabs('add', item.CategoryLink, item.CategoryName); Thing is, when I click a tab, and before it is done loading I click another tab, the previous request is aborted and never called again when I click that first one again! this is very bad, because it obviously didn't fetch the request, so what gives? I tried bypassing this by setting: .tabs({ cache: false }) but this is a bad thing to do, because I don't want to have a request each time again... it should be cachced if response was sent. using jquery-ui 1.8.1

• How to Store Cookies in Ruby?

  I am programmatcally accessing authenticated content in my CDN on Google App Engine, and it's returning a cookie that I'm supposed to store: {"set-cookie"=>"ACSID=cookie-hash; expires=Mon, 12-Apr-2010 01:56:06 GMT; path=/"} What do I do with that? This is my first time dealing with Cookies. I can put in the header of the next request, but what's the recommended way to store that? I'm testing this with irb in the console and when I exit and try again, the cookie is gone. How do I save it for a few days/weeks? I'm using pure ruby without Rails or anything. Thanks so much.

• What is a .NET managed module?

  I know it's a Windows PE32, but I also know that the unit of deployment in .NET is an assembly which in turn has a manifest and can be made up of multiple managed modules. My questions are : 1) How would you create multiple managed modules when building a project such as a class lib or a console app etc. 2) Is there a way to specify this to the compiler(via the project properties for example) to partition your source code files into multiple managed modules. If so what is the benefit of doing so? 3)Can managed modules span assemblies? 4)Are separate file created on disk when the source code is compiled or are these created in memory and directly embedded in an assembly?

• Assembly not referenced error with Interactive Brokes ActiveX API

  I'm attempting to use the Interactive Brokers ActiveX API, but I'm having a little trouble: error CS0012: The type 'System.Windows.Forms.AxHost' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Windows.Forms, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. My code: namespace DataFeed.Gateway { class IBGateway : IGateway { private AxTWSLib.AxTws tws; //<-- the error line //... } } I have a console application, so I'm wondering if that might be the reason why ActiveX is not working... or is there something else going on here? Maybe I should add the AxTWSlib.dll to the GAC, but do I really have to? If I add the dll as a resource, then I thought that I don't need to add it to the GAC. Note: I've dropped the AxTWSlib.dll in my project folder and I've added it to the project references... no problems there.
