  • Does RazorEngine require MVC3 to be installed?

    I am working on a web project that uses MVC2. I decided to try out RazorEngine to do some e-mail templating. This appeared to work fine when I was protyping using an MVC2 project so I assumed that RazorEngine will work fine for my e-mail templating solution. What I had forgotten at the time was that I actually had MVC3 installed on my local development machine. After deploying the project on a pre-test server I get the following error in the logs when the application attempts to do anything with RazorEngine: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Razor, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. File name: 'System.Web.Razor, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' at RazorEngine.Compilation.DefaultCompilerServiceFactory.CreateCompilerService(Language language) at RazorEngine.Templating.TemplateService.CreateTemplateType(String razorTemplate, Type modelType) at RazorEngine.Templating.TemplateService.CreateTemplate[T](String razorTemplate, T model) at RazorEngine.Templating.TemplateService.Parse[T](String razorTemplate, T model) at RazorEngine.Razor.Parse[T](String razorTemplate, T model) at System.Dynamic.UpdateDelegates.UpdateAndExecute3[T0,T1,T2,TRet](CallSite site, T0 arg0, T1 arg1, T2 arg2) at Persistence.Utility.RazorEngineHelper.Parse(String templateName, Object model) in The fact that it can't find 'System.Web.Razor' means that this DLL does not exist on the deployed server. The only difference I can think of between the deployment server and my local dev machine is that the deployment server does not have MVC3 installed but I may be mistaken because the deployment server is not something I normally control and as such I don't have a lot of information about it. It is meant to host this particular application so there have been previous deployments of this application to this server. This is the first time I'm making a deployment with RazorEngine as a dependency.

  • [Ruby] Confirm existance of executable (script, bat, cmd, exe) via a ruby file.

    Using a ruby file (or any rake facility) I need to find out if the user who executes my script is able to execute certain shell commands. In particular g++ etc. Hopefully system independent so if there is some g++.bat, g++.exe or just g++ (etc) it should say yes nevertheless, as long as its on the path and executable on the users system. Example: if the user has a no-extention executable version of the file and a .cmd version of the file it should say "yes" for the no extension version on a linux system and "yes" to the .cmd version on a windows system. Since the users shell can only execute that version of the file. The purpose of this is to allow the script to be self-configuring (as much as possible). Any suggestions on how I might go about doing this?

    I have a Qt 4 GUI where I need to have a option in a drop-down menu that allows the user to choose to restart the computer. I realize this might seem redunant with the ability to restart the computer in other ways, but the choice needs to stay there. I've tried using system() to call the following: a suid-root shell script a non-suid shell script a suid-root binary program and all of them just cause reboot: must be superuser to be printed. Using system() to call reboot directly does the same thing. I'm not especially attached to using system() to do this, but it seemed like the most direct choice. How can I reboot the system from the GUI?

    In the good old days of C. I could cast a float to an int (assuming 32 bit system), do some bit manipluation ( bitwise and, right shift, ect ), and get the upper and lower 16 bit hex representations of the floating point number, which I could then store in two short values. I'm not seeing an easy way of doing this in C#. System.Convert.ToUInt16 just does a float to int convert (even after I shift right), which leaves a vlaue of 0 if the float is less than 0, which is not the desired effect. //useless leaves me witg a value 0f 0 UIN16 s1 = (UInt16)((System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff0000) >> 16); //capture the high word UInt16 s2 = (UInt16)(System.Convert.ToUInt32(d2) & 0xffff); //capture the low word A basic cast (UInt32) doesn't work either.

    I've got some Java code that runs quite the expected way, but it's taking some amount of time -some seconds- even if the job is just looping through an array. The input file is a Fasta file as shown in the image below. The file I'm using is 2.9Mo, and there are some other Fasta file that can take up to 20Mo. And in the code im trying to loop through it by bunches of threes, e.g: AGC TTT TCA ... etc The code has no functional sens for now but what I want is to append each Amino Acid to it's equivalent bunch of Bases. Example : AGC - Ser / CUG Leu / ... etc So what's wrong with the code ? and Is there any way to do it better ? Any optimization ?     Let us say I have a model Post which belongs to a User. To convert to json, I do something like this @reply.to_json(:include => {:user => {:only => [:email, :id]}, :only => [:title, :id]) However, I want to set some defaults for this so I don't have to specify :only everytime. I am trying to override as_json to accomplish this. When I add as_json in User model, it is called when I do @user.to_json but when user is included in @reply.to_json, my overriden as_json for User is ignored. How do I make this work? Thanks
