• Django ORM dealing with MySQL BIT(1) field

  In a Django application, I'm trying to access an existing MySQL database created with Hibernate (a Java ORM). I reverse engineered the model using: $ manage.py inspectdb > models.py This created a nice models file from the Database and many things were quite fine. But I can't find how to properly access boolean fields, which were mapped by Hibernate as columns of type BIT(1). The inspectdb script by default creates these fields in the model as TextField and adds a comment saying that it couldn't reliably obtain the field type. I changed these to BooleanField but it doesn't work (the model objects always fetch a value of true for these fields). Using IntegerField won't work as well (e.g. in the admin these fields show strange non-ascii characters). Any hints of doing this without changing the database? (I need the existing Hibernate mappings and Java application to still work with the database).

I can correct the problem by writing cout << (a>temp); where the operator> is similarly defined and i get no errors. but my assignment requires (temp < a) to work so this is where i ask for help. • VMware guest pauses when the host is idle - how do I keep it running?

  I'm running VMWare Worstation 7 with Windows 7 x64 as guest, Windows XP x64 as host. Inside the guest I run a long-running console application, which prints out progress messages with timestamps on them. Sometimes I leave it running for several hours while I lock the host OS and don't touch the computer at all. When I come back I find that some time after I left it seems to have paused and automatically resumed: the console app hasn't made much progress and there's a large time gap in its progress messages. There's nothing relevant in the host event log, but in the guest Application event log I can see these messages around the time I left: A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (VMware Tools Service) The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application And later, around the time I returned, this shows up in the System log: The system time has changed to ?2012?-?01?-?12T06:36:46.921000000Z from ?2012?-?01?-?12T03:18:19.953079000Z. That seems to support my theory that it's VMware doing something and not Windows itself. The question is: how do I stop it doing that? I want my application to continue running. By the way, the power options are set to never sleep in both guest and host.

• How to make a EditText work correctly in a ListView?

  Hallo all, I have a ListView, which contains an EditText in each of it's row. I also have an Array.The length of the Array==the Nr of the rows in the ListView. I want to store the user input (the text in the EditText) to the Arrray. E.g, if i type some text in the EditText in the first row of the ListView, i want the text to be stored in Array[0]. But how can i detect to which row the EditText belongs to? I can detect the possition of the row if the row contains a RadioGroup, but not a EditText. What if i first type some text in the EditText and sometime later i want to update mein Input? How can i update it? Thanks a lot!

• Is there anyway to get pdb and Mac Terminal to play nicely?

  When debugging my django apps I use pdb for interactive debugging with pdb.set_trace(). However, when I amend a file the local django webserver restarts and then I cant see what I type in the terminal, until I type reset. Is there anyway for this to happen automatically? It can be real annoying, having to cancel the runserver and reset and restart it all the time. I'm told it doesn't happen on other OS's (ubuntu) so is there anyway to make it not happen on the Mac? (I'm using Snow Leopard).

  simple really.. I am have been asked to do a mobile site (straight html + css (+ maybe jquery mobile later on)). The site will need to support the new type smart phone and the old type Nokia/(Symbian OS) with the web browser. Doubts and reservations aside as to anyone without a smart phone would bother visiting this site it still needs to support it. My first question is do older phones support PNG images and transparancey... But this has led me to a much broader question of what are some of the limitations of developing for older phone platforms is there anything that has caught mobile web devs out and had them scratching their head for an afternoon.. what are the limitations of mobile phones?

  I using the FileWatcher Class to locate changes on Files in a specific Folder. I managed to detect Changes on Files but not detailed Information. On the WatcherChangeTypes Enumeration Page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t6xf43e0%28v=VS.100%29.aspx they write the Change Type detects the changes include: changes to size, attributes, security settings, last write, and last access time. Is there a way to detect which kind of change happened?   I have a managed object with a dueDate attribute. If I change my sectionNameKeyPath to just "dueDate" then everything works fine. I think that's because the dueDate attribute never changes whereas the category will be different when read back after the finishedDate attribute changes. Please help!   I am currently working on a game "engine" that needs to move values between a 3D engine, a physics engine and a scripting language. Since I need to apply vectors from the physics engine to 3D objects very often and want to be able to control both the 3D, as well as the physics objects through the scripting system, I need a mechanism to convert a vector of one type (e.g. vector3d<float>) to a vector of the other type (e.g. btVector3). Unfortunately I can make no assumptions on how the classes/structs are laid out, so a simple reinterpret_cast probably won't do. So the question is: Is there some sort of 'static'/non-member casting method to achieve basically this: vector3d<float> operator vector3d<float>(btVector3 vector) { // convert and return } btVector3 operator btVector3(vector3d<float> vector) { // convert and return } Right now this won't compile since casting operators need to be member methods. (error C2801: 'operator foo' must be a non-static member)

  I have a method Get on a type MyType1 accepting a Func<MyType2, bool> as a parameter. An example of its use: mytype1Instance.Get(x => x.Guid == guid)); I would like create a stub implementation of the method Get that examines the incoming lambda expression and determines what the value of guid is. Clearly the lambda could be "anything", but I'm happy for the stub to make an assumption about the lambda, that it is trying to match on the Guid property. How can I do this? I suspect it involves the use of the built-in Expression type?

  I'm in the need to convert excel macros into jquery code, the function is that you need to click on the plus sign to unfold and show the sub rows to modify column2 if you want to type values in column2, the other columns can't be modified. You can't straightly modify values of column2 until you unfold the parent row, because there are many sub rows belonging to parent row,say Car. The values of Name, Model, Code are existing, they are master data, no need to type or modify. please see the snapshot at folded and unfolded, besides modifying values in sub rows , I need to be able to know which sub rows are modified and values of those rows.Initially the editable columns are blank. And when you click on the minus sign, the sub rows can be folded again,but the modified values won't be lost,they are still there when unfolded again. One last requirement is it's cross devices, the code must run well on pc,mobile phone,pad. Is that possible? Many thanks.

  If I create this collection: IEnumerable<_TITLE> _titles = null; How can I set the result set from Netflix in this expression: _titles = from t in Titles where t.Id == "ApUFq" select new {t, t.Cast} I am getting: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.Linq.IQueryable' to 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<_Title'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) I understand it's because I am using an anonymous type. _TITLE is a custom complex object I create that exposes a subset of Netflix properties. If I add "_TITLE" in front the of the "new" it says that my object does not implement IENUMBERABLE. If then _TITLE implements IENUMBERABLE, it says _TITLE does not contain a definition for ADD and still getting conversion error. Basically, I want to set the _TITLE properties with the data returned from Netflix. I have defined _TITLE to contain the fields I need, plus a collection of PERSON (for Cast).

My initial impression when reading about deployJava.js was that it would do this out of the box when you simply set a version number as a function parameter for the "runApplet" function.   I have a Windows 8 store application and I'm using the latest version on SQLite for my database. So I want to return some records from the database and I want to order them by more that one column. However SQLite doesn't seem to have the ThenBy statement? So my LINQ statement is below: from i in connection.Table<MyTable>() where i.Type == type orderby i.Usage_Counter // ThenBy i.ID select i); So how do I sort by multiple columns in SQLite without doing another LINQ statement?

  Yes, I know the title sounds a little suspicious. I will try to explain this the best I can... The code below is supposed to have the blue div slide down beside the red div. The first time you hit the Show the div button, it works. Also, the Hide the div works. Then when I click to show the div again, it appears to the right of where it is supposed to be! Why is this?!?
