  • TTCPServer limited to 10 connections?

    - by Stijn Sanders
I've created a TCP server NT-Service in Delphi 6, I've tried Indy components, Ararat Synapse components, and am now trying just plain old TTcpServer to see which would perform best while using the least resources. I'm surprised to see that the live instance of the service (running on Windows Server) is still limited to 10 connections! Any new connections are forcibly disconnected. Have I missed something? Do I need to set a property or override a method of TCustomTcpServer?

  • Set Android Gallery widget to show specific starting image

    - by Dalmazio Brisinda
Hi all, I have a task where the user can select an image from a GridView representing a photo album, and from this I start a new activity which displays a Gallery widget to show the images of the photo album. However, I can't seem to get the Gallery widget to show the contents of the photo album with a given image as the starting point. Ideally I would like a Gallery#setStartingImage(int position) or something similar. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Best, Dalmazio

  • Using compose with opacity

    - by Spoike
What's the best way to compose layers in imagemagick with opacity? As I understand it the -compose switch doesn't take any opacity or alpha value. For example I'd like to take two images, much like in Photoshop, blend them together with the picture on top have an opacity set.

  • PHP find .tpl files

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
Hi, I have some errors in my output source code, I'm wondering if there is a tool that is able to look through the site and find which .tpl file my error is in? That, or at least give me a list of .tpls to look through. I can't seem to find this error and the site isn't very well documented. I'm not the best PHP programmer, I'd be looking for an online resource or something pretty simple. Thanks very much.

  • Eclipse RCP setting classpath from workspace

    - by English Learner
I am working one Eclipse RCP project where I have got one situation that I wanted to set classpath at runtime. So initially, I can set the classpath from project\lib\sample.jar file in order to avoid the compilation error. But once the Eclipse RCP application started, and click one update button, a new sample.jar file would be generated at workspace. Now I wanted to update the classpath for newly generated sample.jar from workspace. Which is the best option for setting such a runtime classpath ?

  • Show Visual Studio's Source Control Merge Wizard programmatically

    - by Mike
Hi, I'm developing a Work item Custom Control and I need to use the standard VS's Merge Wizard for items in source control from my code to allow to user choose the target branch, resolve conflicts etc. I'm pretty sure it's possible in some way (even through the reflection), but I just can't find the proper class in any of VS client assemblies (Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Controls.dll, Microsoft.TeamFoundation.VersionControl.Client.dll). Any help will be appreciated. Best regards, Mike

  • Most effective way to draw 4 lines on a screen?

    - by Ross
basic question, but I'm unsure: I want to draw 4 short lines 1px lines on a view. What is the best way to approach this task? Options:- Load an image of the line, can create 4 UIImageViews with it. Create my own subclass of a UIView that draws a line in the draw rect method. Draw elsewhere on another view, another UIImageView that has an UIImage inside it (is this possible?) Another way? Thanks Ross

  • How do you display a binary search tree?

    - by fakeit
I'm being asked to display a binary search tree in sorted order. The nodes of the tree contain strings. I'm not exactly sure what the best way is to attack this problem. Should I be traversing the tree and displaying as I go? Should I flatten the tree into an array and then use a sorting algorithm before I display? I'm not looking for the actual code, just a guide where to go next.

  • As-You-Type-Searching with Core Data / NSFetchedResultsController

    - by Snej
I implemented an as-you-type-searching (text search on single attribute) by fetching with performFetch: after each given character by the user. The performFetch: is running in a background thread to avoid keyboard freezes. But while typing many useless fetches are started. A NSOperationQueue might be an option, but I wonder if there are other approaches for this quite usual search behavior. What's best practice to notice when fetching is done and the table view is updated with the previous fetch to start a new fetch?

  • outputting html in runtime in asp.net

    - by madness800
Hi all, I'm building a website at the moment, I've some html fragment that is being stored into the database, I've been reading around that inserting HTML at runtime poses security risks by using the InnerHTML property of any html tag with runat server on it. So, my question is there any alternative way to safely display the html code and won't pose security risks and is it best to assume any textboxes on any given page is dangerous and process the text in the textboxes with Server.HtmlEncode before I store it to database? Cheers

  • C#: Exception to throw when a certain type was expected

    - by cbp
I know this sort of code is not best practice, but nevertheless in certain situations I find it is a simpler solution: if (obj.Foo is Xxxx) { // Do something } else if (obj.Foo is Yyyy) { // Do something } else { throw new Exception("Type " + obj.Foo.GetType() + " is not handled."); } Anyone know if there is a built-in exception I can throw in this case?

    - by TooFat
I have a Winforms Gui in C# that allows a user to draw a rectangle on a display of a tiff and save the position, height, width etc. Basically, what I want to do is take the saved position, height and width of the rectangle and clip that area into a sep. bitmap that can then be passed to sep. method that will just OCR the new clip of the bitmap only. What is the best way to do this?

  • Confusing .gitignore syntax

    - by tmslnz
I was reading http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/gitignore.html and the 6 points used to explain the ignore patterns seem to be describing a custom variant of a glob search syntax. I am more familiar with Mercurial, which allows to explicitly ignore via glob or regex patterns, no questions asked. Is there anything similar functionality in Git? Can anyone point me to some more exhaustive reference than the Git man page? Best, t
