• NAudio demos not working anymore

• JSF 2/Primefaces p:ajax not updating panel after onchange event is fired

  I am really stuck with this for the last 2 days and am struggling to understand how Primefaces updates UI components on the client based on their ID. I have a h:selectOneMenu with a count for the number of panels to be displayed. Each p:panel will contain a panelGrid with numerous form elements. The onchange event on the drop down is fired and I can see the count in the Managed Bean. • "Hello, WebView" tutorial opens the requested address in Android browser and not in my webview

  Hi everyone, I am using Android emulator with AVD of Android 2.1 and I have the following problem: Trying to load a URL in a WebView using webView.loadUrl causes it to open in the browser instead. Note: I am talking about the initial opening, not the issue in which links from the WebView open in a browser, though, perhaps it is somehow connected. I've tried several things: I've removed <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> from the manifest. That actually made it work correctly, i.e, load the html into the webview. However, as one would expect, the only thing it loaded is "unable to connect the internet" error page. I've tried downloading a real sample project ("Hello Android" book source files, project - BrowserView). However, it didn't work just the same. I've created a new project and followed the directions at Google's official tutorial of using WebView and got the same result. I haven't find anyone else complaining about it. Why does it happen? • Stuck in itunesconnect submission version number limbo...

  I did a very very stupid thing. I was uploading an update to my app on itunesconnect, but typed in the wrong version number. The version number I typed (1.02) was smaller than the one that's already up there (1.1). Apple accepted the submission, and planned to upload binary later. Went to upload the binary (also 1.02), but only AFTER uploading did Apple inform me that it can't accept my binary because it's a smaller number than the current version. BUT I CAN'T CHANGE THE VERSION NUMBER IN THE SUBMISSION FORM. AND I CAN'T CANCEL THE UPDATE. [string of profanity symbols] So now, Apple is waiting for an update that it will never accept. Surely I'm not the only dope who's done this. I've written to the Contact Us form, but is there anything else I can do? Anyone else had to deal with this, if so, how long did it take to sort out? Thanks for anything on this, even if it's just moral support, -k.

• controller path not found for static images? asp.net mvc routing issue?

  I have an image folder stored at ~/Content/Images/ I am loading these images via <img src="/Content/Images/Image.png" /> Recently, the images aren't loading and I am getting the following errors in my error log. What's weird is that some images load fine, while others do not load. Anyone have any idea what is wrong with my routes? Am I missing an ignore route for the /Content/ folder? • C# Assembly.GetTypes() - ReflectionTypeLoadException

  We implement a plugin framework for our application and load plugin assemblies using Assembly.Loadfrom. We then use GetTypes() and further examine the types with each plugin file for supported Interfaces. A path for the plugins is provided by the user and we cycle through each of the files in the folder to see if it (the plugin) supports our plugin interface. If it does, we create an instance, if not we move onto the next file. We build two versions of software from the one code base (appA_1 and appA_2). Loading the plugins works well when the plugins are loaded by the application that was built at the same time as the plugin file. However if we build appA_2 and point to the plugin folder of appA_1, we get an exception when GetTypes() is called. A basic version of our code is; var pluginAssembly = Assembly.LoadFrom(FileName); foreach (var pluginType in pluginAssembly.GetTypes()) { We get a "ReflectionTypeLoadException" exception. This is concerning because we want our application to be able to load the types of any plugin, built by anyone. Is there something we are missing?

• StackOverflow in VB.NET SQLite query

  I have an StackOverflowException in one of my DB functions that I don't know how to deal with. I have a SQLite database with one table "tblEmployees" that holds records for each employees (several thousand posts) and usually this function runs without any problem. But sometimes after the the function is called a thousand times it breaks with an StackOverflowException at the line "ReturnTable.Load(reader)" with the message: An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in System.Data.SQLite.dll If I restart the application it has no problem to continue with the exact same post it last crashed on. I can also make the exactly same DB-call from SQLite Admin at the crash time without no problems. I assume there is some problem with allocated memory that isn't released correctly, but can't figure out what object it's all about. The DB-connection opens when the DB-class object is created and closes on main form Dispose. Should I maybe dispose the mycommand object every time in a finally block? But wouldn't that result in a closed DB-connection?

• UINavigationController inside tabbar loading a child root view

  Hi guys, Firstly i'll preface by saying that i am a complete Cocoa touch/objective c noob (.Net dev having a dabble) I have searched on Google as well as here but cannot seem to find an easy solution. I have a UItabbarcontroller view with a UINavigationController inside its first tab I have the root view for this UINavigationController stored in a seperate class and NIB as i am trying to seperate the data viewing from the data loading (i'm going to reuse the table list in multiple places in my database) and simply pass the root view its data using a loading method and have it take it from there. What i want to happen: App loads and loads the first view of the tab bar (A UINavigationController) The UINavigationController inside the first view loads a root view (a UIViewController with a table view) and sets its title The UINavigationController loads the data from a web service and parses it The UINavigationController sends the data to a loading method inside the UIViewController Am i thinking about this completely wrongly? What currently happens: the first tab bar loads with an empty uinavigationcontroller (no table view) the data methods fire and get the webservice data this child view gets sent its data using the loading method the tableview delegate events fail to fire inside the child view telling it to load the data into the table I just can't seem how to load my second view inside the root view of the navigation controller and then send it my data?

• Windows services with windows forms in the same process

  Hello, I have a c# application that runs as a windows service controlling socket connections and other things. Also, there is another windows forms application to control and configure this service (systray with start, stop, show form with configuration parameters). I'm using .net remoting to do the IPC and that was fine, but now I want to show some real traffic and other reports and remoting will not meet my performance requirements. So I want to combine both applications in one. Here is the problem: When I started the form from the windows service, nothing happened. Googling around I've found that I have to right click the service, go to Log on and check the "Allow service to interact with desktop" option. Since I don't want to ask my users to do that, I got some code googling again to set this option in the user's regedit during installation time. The problem is that even setting this option, it doesn't work. I have to open the Log On options of the service (it is checked), uncheck and check again. So, how to solve that? How is the best way to have a windows service with a systray control in the same process, available to any user logging in? UPDATE: Thanks for the comments so far, guys. I agree it is better to use IPC and I know that it is bad to mix windows services and user interfaces. Even though, I want to know how to do that.

• ASP.NET MVC model binding with nested child models and PartialViews

  I have a model called Page, which has a property called Content of type EditableContent. EditableContent have SidebarLeft and SidebarRight (type TemplateSection). I want to edit the Page instance, in my Edit.aspx view. Because EditableContent is also attached to other models, I have a PartialView called ContentEditor.ascx that is strongly typed and takes an instance of EditableContent and renders it. The rendering part all works fine, but when I post - everything inside my ContentEditor is not binded - which means that Page.Content is null. On the PartialView, I use the strongly typed Html Helpers to do this: <%= Html.HiddenFor(m => m.TemplateId) %> And so on. But because the input elements on the form, rendered by ContentEditor.ascx, does not get the "Content" prefix to its id attribute - the values are not binded to Page. So to overcome this, I've definitely done the wrong thing. Used loosely typed Html Helpers instead: <%= Html.Hidden("Content.TemplateId", Model.TemplateId) %> And when I'm dealing with a property that is a List of something it gets very ugly. I then have to render collection indexes manually... doh What am I missing here? A BindPrefix in the controller action that the Form is being posted to? Should I put both Page and EditableContent as parameters to the controller action: public ActionResult Edit(Page page, EditableContent content) { ... } Any help is much appreciated!

• Redrawing rounded corners when using curvycorners-plugin for jQuery.

  I'm using the curvycorners jQuery plugin (http://www.curvycorners.net/instructions/) to force IE to render rounded corners on divs. It works really well, apart from one thing: I have a validation error-message that pops up inside the div, using jQuery's "show" method. Curvycorners adds an extra div that is absolute positioned and has a set height, this means that you have to redraw the rounded corners if you want the containing div to resize when the error-message is shown. • How to validate xml using a .dtd via a proxy and NOT using system.net.defaultproxy

We have a bunch of internal webservices. Requests to the CANNOT go through the proxy. If we try to, we get 404 errors since the proxy DNS doesn't know about our internal webservice domains. We generate a few xml files that have to be valid. I'd like to use the provided dtd documents to validate the xml. The dtd urls are outside our network and MUST go through the proxy. Is there any way to validate via dtd through a proxy without using system.net.defaultproxy? If we use defaultproxy, the internal webservices are busted, but the dtd validation works.# Here is what I'm doing to validate the xml right now: public static XDocument ValidateXmlUsingDtd(string xml) { var xrSettings = new XmlReaderSettings { ValidationType = ValidationType.DTD, ProhibitDtd = false }; var sr = new StringReader(xml.Trim()); XmlReader xRead = XmlReader.Create(sr, xrSettings); return XDocument.Load(xRead); } Ideally, there would be some way to assign a proxy to the XmlReader much like you can assign a proxy to the HttpWebRequest object. FYI - I'm open to ideas on how to tackle this - note that the proxy is located in another domain, and they don't want to have to set up a dns lookup to our dns server for our internal webservice addresses. • Argument exception after trying to use TryGetObjectByKey

  Hi, EDIT: Somethings wrong.... I have to use objectContext.Frontpages.ToArray() before I can use TryGetObjectByEntityKey(). Any ideas anyone?   I have an application which uses MyGeneration's dOODads ORM to generate it's Data Access Layer. dOODad works by generating a persistance class for each table in the database. I don't believe that an Employee class should have Employees(the DAL) specifics in its methods - or perhaps this is acceptable? Is it possible to implement some form of repository pattern?   The application that I am working on has a generic Parent Form called RSChild, that is used to perform some operations depending on whether or not the control that is contained within it is in a MdiTabManager or inside of its own modal form. Then the actual User Controls contained within Inherit from a Interface Called ObjectEdit (Objects that we allow to be edited). At a point in my code I am doing this. So I have the whole If block repeated over and over. I tried doing castTabPageToRSChild(page)RSObject.GetType and using that in the DirectCast and I also tried creating another object that was separate from that and doing the same thing. My code works as intended I'm just trying to see if there is a manner in which I didn't have a lot of replicated code. My vision would be to do something like For Each page As XtraMdiTabPage In alikePages If id = DirectCast(castTabPageToRSchild(page).RSObject, TypeOfThatObject).Id Then Return True Next However I have a feeling this is not possible due to the behavior of DirectCast.

• IE7 HTML/CSS margin-bottom bug.

  Here is the scenario: I have a table with a margin-bottom of 19px. Below that I have a form that contains some fieldsets. One of them is floated right. The problem is that the margin-bottom is not getting the full 19px in IE7. I've gone through all of the IE7 css/margin/float bugs that I can think of and have tried remedies but have been unsuccessful. I have been googling for a while now and cannot find anything that is helping out. Here is what I have tried. Wrapping the form or fieldset in an unstyled div. No apparent change. Nixing the margin-bottom on the table and instead wrapping that with a div and giving it a padding-bottom of 19px. No apparent change. Nixing the margin-bottom on the table and adding a div with a fixed height of 19px. No apparent change. Putting a clear between the table and the fieldset. I know there are some others that I am forgetting, but those are the things I have tried out recently. This happens to each fieldset.

• UIWebView not loading URL when URL is passed from UITableView

  Hey Everyone, So i'm building a webView into my application to show the contents of a URL that I am passing from a selection in a UITableView. I know the UIWebView is loading content properly because if you hard code say http://www.google.ca into the NSURL then it loads fine, however when I'm passing the URL that I parsed from an RSS feed back from the UITableView it won't load the URL properly. I tried the debugger and the URL is coming out as nil right before I try and parse it, however I can use NSLog to print the value of it out to the console. here's the code in my UIViewController that has my UIWebView #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> @interface ReadFeedWebViewController : UIViewController { NSString *urlToGet; IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; } @property(nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIWebView *webView; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSString *urlToGet; @end Here's the code for my implementation's viewDidLoad method... // Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSLog(@"Url inside Web View Controller - %@", urlToGet); NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlToGet]; NSURLRequest *requestObj = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; [self.webView loadRequest:requestObj]; } Once again, I can print the URL to NSLog fine and if I hard code the URL into the NSURL object then it will load fine in the UIWebView.   Hi, Before going live I try to test the paypal process against the paypal sandbox mode, but after the summary of what the user is going to pay on my website(buy now button), the link does not redirect to a paypal summary of the prder but ask the user to connect to paypal. Even after logging into the buyer sandbox account there's no summary of the order. It just disappears. • SSL Slow in IE 8.0.7600.16385IC

  I'm having a performance problem on my company's web site using a specific version of IE 8 to load a page using https. Here's what I know. Server: Virtual machine running on VMWare ESX Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP 2 Tomcat 6.0.16 Client: Windows XP and Window 7 Internet Explorer 8.0.7600.16385IC Page loads/refreshes in under 1 second using HTTP. Page loads/refreshes in 15-16 seconds in HTTPS using this version of IE. Problem reproduced on multiple client machines with same IE version. Problem reproduced on multiple client machines with different Windows versions (XP and 7). No performance problem using Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Safari from same machine. No performance problem using other versions of IE 8 on other machines. Slow load causes virtually no CPU, memory, or I/O spike on server or client machine. No performance problem on other sites using HTTPS on same client machine. The pages in question use JavaScript and innerHTML to replace the contents of div elements to create a collapsible menu, and an iframe to display some content. A couple of the div elements contain images. If I remove the iframe and the JavaScript, the performance issues go away. However, rewriting the entire site to make these changes would be very time consuming. We're in the process of replacing the whole site, but it may be 2-3 months before we do so and we really cannot live with this slowdown that long. I've already looked at several IE tuning options, such as disabling add ons, running IE-rereg, and resetting IE, with no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When using the ImageList control from the Microsoft Common Control lib (mscomctl.ocx) I have found that VB6 generates FRM code that doesn't resolve to real property/method names and I am curious as to how the resolution is made. With ImageList, there is no property called Images. The GUID associated with property Images indicates type ListImages which implements interface IImages. This type makes sense, as the ImageList control has a property called ListImages which is of type IImages. Secondly, properties ListImage1, ListImage2 and ListImage3 don't exist on type IImages, but the GUID associated with these properties indicates type ListImage which implements interface IImage. This type also makes sense, as IImages is in fact a collection of IImage. What doesn't make sense to me is how VB6 makes these associations. How does VB6 know to make the association between the name Images - ListImages purely because of an associated type (provided by the GUID) - perhaps because it's the only property of that type? Secondly, how does it resolve ListImage1, ListImage2 and ListImage3 into additions to the collection IImages, and does it use the Add method? Or perhaps the ControlDefault property? Perhaps VB6 has specific knowledge of this control and no logical resolution exists?

  I have an asp.net panel with a style which hides it and I'm using JQuery to slideToggle the panel using a hyperlink. This works fine. However, if I add a button on the page that causes a postback the panel will default back to hidden.
