  • pro/con of having single/multiple action per file in symfony?

    been working with symfony for a while. most tutorials describe having multiple actions in a single php file. however, i find having 1 action per php file easier to maintain. what's the pro/con of both? is this purely a developer preference in code organisation? any performance impact on either approach? what's common practice for reasonably large production applications?

  • Can ASM method-visitors be used with interfaces?

    I need to write a tool that lists the classes that call methods of specified interfaces. It will be used as part of the build process of a large java application consisting of many modules. The goal is to automatically document the dependencies between certain java modules. I found several tools for dependency analysis, but they don't work on the method level, just for packages or jars. Finally I found ASM, that seems to do what I need.   • What's a good pure-python, document-based and flat-file database engine?

    Hi, for development i'd love to have a flat file database with the requirements up in the title, but I don't seem to be able to find a database with these requirements. I can't seem to get MetaKit to work. I only need it to work on the development machine, but in the real world my product will have more data and needs more room and will need something better. Does anyone know of a database engine capable of this or do I need to just use python's pickle and load and save a file? Joe

  • Adobe Reader process fails when starting second instance

    In our C# WinForms application, we generate PDF files and launch Adobe Reader (or whatever the default system .pdf handler is) via the Process class. Since our PDF files can be large (approx 200K), we handle the Exited event to then clean up the temp file afterwards. The system works as required when a file is opened and then closed again. However, when a second file is opened (before closing Adobe Reader) the second process immediately exits (since Reader is now using it's MDI powers) and in our Exited handler our File.Delete call should fail because it's locked by the now joined Adobe process. However, in Reader we instead get: There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found. The unusual thing is that if I put a debugger breakpoint before the file deletion and allow it to attempt (and fail) the deletion, then the system behaves as expected! I'm positive that the file exists and fairly positive that all handles/file streams to the file are closed before starting the process.     I've been looking for a way to convert an mp3 to aac programmatically or via the command line with no luck. Ideally, I'd have a snippet of code that I could call from my rails app that converts an mp3 to an aac. I installed ffmpeg and libfaac and was able to create an aac file with the following command: ffmpeg -i test.mp3 -acodec libfaac -ab 163840 dest.aac When i change the output file's name to dest.m4a, it doesn't play in iTunes. Anyway the problem is that I did git stash, then git stash apply, but the new file.txt disappeared... anyway to get it back?

    Hi there, I know it's possible to open links in an html page (let's say, if you're using Firefox) with TextMate if the link has this format: <a href="txmt://open?url=file:///home/.../index.html.haml">View</a> But is it possible to do a similar thing with VIM?
