  • pass string or data of local file between viewcontrollers

    In my last question i asked how to best send a string from one view controller to another, both which were on a navigation stack: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2898860/pass-string-from-tableviewcontroller-to-viewcontroller-in-navigation-stack However I just realised I can either pass the path to the file in the app's document's folder as the first (the table view) has already accessed the data in the file should I pass viewcontroller the data to the pushed VC?

As you'd expect, it returns: This should capture</p><p>This shouldn't I'm racking my brains here. How can I just have it select the FIRST inner text? (I'm trying to be tag-agnostic, so <strong>This should match</strong> is equally appropriate, etc.)

    Hi What are the possible ways of representing data in memory in .Net (or in general)? It would be great if data could be sorted and looked up by key (or multiple keys). We are thinking to use collections, arrays, list of collections/arrays. One object would be in several collections (one sorted asc, other desc, etc.). Maybe this is not a good idea, and we would like to hear some other possible solutions. Thank you

  • Modify an MP3 slightly to change the data appearence

    I'm thinking about encrypting MP3s in a database, so that when user is downloading them with his software desktop player, only the software can decrypt them. This part is not a problem. The problem is I don't want a user to upload an mp3 to the database, then check which changes have been made to the file so he can reverse-engineer the file or at least see which algorithm is used to encrypt the files. So, user uploads MP3-A, then it becomes MP3-B because it has been modified, and I encrypt it to MP3-C. And when decrypted, it sounds 99.99% like MP3-A. I know MP3 format is lossy, but I wonder if there's a way to convert audio with limited loss, or if I need to forget it right now.

  • Sysprep and Capture task sequence failing using MDT 2010

    I have created a Windows Deployment Services server in Windows 2008 R2. When I originally set it up I was able to successfully use MDT 2010 to create my boot images as well as creating task sequences that would sysprep and capture, and deploy my custom .wim files. Everything was working perfectly. About a month later I boot up my Windows 7 x86 image and run Windows updates to keep my image up to date. I then go and run my sysprep and capture task sequence and I get the following errors: I searched online for the cause of this error message and it just seems to be a generic permission denied type of error message. I then decided to completely rebuild my VM image from scratch and try again. I am still getting the same error messages as before. The following is what I have tried troubleshooting this issue: Troubleshooting: I have ensured that that UAC and the firewall is turned completely off when trying to capture the image. I have tried recreating the task sequence and making sure that the deployment share is updated. I have ensured that the local Administrator account is enabled and has the same password as specified in the task sequence. I have tried joining the computer to the domain and running the task sequence and I get a different error: I have attempted to run the script from the command prompt with "Run as Administrator" and I still receive the same errors above. For testing purposes I have ensured that Everyone has read/write access to my deployment share. I have spent days on trying to resolve this to no avail. Any ideas?   • MDT 2012 Image Capture

    I am using MDT 2012 Update 1. Attempting to Deploy 2012 DC to a VM, run windows updates, and then sysprep/capture that image. This is the same task sequence process I have used for Windows 7 / 2008 R2 and it works fine. However, for 2012 DC it deploys the image, starts running/installing updates and then on reboot it goes to a "Choose an option" screen if I choose "Exit and continue to Windows Server 2012" it reboots and goes back to same screen. Any ideas?

    Can anyone recommend a manufacturer or starting point for overhead video camera units that can be used to capture a Microsoft Surface application in use? I'd like to stream this from another PC but I'm not sure what the best camera to look at would be. It seems like some of the overhead security cameras would fit the requirements but I don't know if they will interface easily with a PC.

Like :- $ tshark -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 1" -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 132" or (same filter) $ tshark -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 1" -i rpcap://1.1.1.1/lo -f "ip proto 1" what will happen in both the cases ? In first case, will the capture filter gets OR'ed or AND'ed ?? In second case, will the same packets be captured two times ?

  • Possible to capture and re-broadcast as RTMP?

    I may have a need coming up soon to capture a live video broadcast stream and re-broadcast it as an RTMP stream for playback in Flash Player. Is this possible? I'm seeing posts online from 2005 to 2009 claiming that RTMP either isn't or is poorly supported in VLC. I do not currently know what format the incoming video stream will be -- will update when I get that information.

    I am using an open source application (conkeror) which is configured via a file containing javascript. Any issues with the javascript is printed to the console. This is fine under Linux as all the information is shown as long as the it is started from a shell. However, under Windows none of the information is show even when started from a shell. Is there a way to make this information displayed in the shell or to capture it in say a file?

    I am looking to see if anything exists that would allow us to capture all outgoing email on a machine -- for example, in a staging environment -- and drop it in a single place, which ideally would be something we could check with a mail client. Currently we're doing this on the software level (if environment is staging, rewrite address) which is a bit ugly and leads to errors.   • nginx rule to capture header and append value as query string

    I have an interesting problem I need to solve in nginx: one of the sites I'm building receives inbound traffic on port 80 (and only port 80) which may have a certain header set in the request. If this header is present I need to capture the value of it and append that as a querystring parameter before doing a temporary redirect (rewrite) to a different (secure) server, while passing the paramater and any other querystring params along.     We are using Tight VNC server in our project for screen sharing, due to some security constraints we cannot directly install Tight VNC server on clients machine. So through .net windows applicaton we are invoking Tight VNC. Now this windows application should capture the screens(packets) that VNC server passes to VNC client and transfer them to and fro to routing server, routing server will inturn transfers these packets to VNC client, which is on another network. Is there any way that VNC server packets are caputured through .Net.

  • How do you manage a complexity jump?

    It seems an infrequent but common experience that sometimes you're working on a project and suddenly something turns up unexpectedly, throws a massive spanner in the works and ramps up the complexity a whole lot. For example, I was working on an application that talked to SOAP services on various other machines. I whipped up a prototype that worked fine, then went on to develop a regular front end and generally get everything up and running in a nice, fairly simple and easy to follow fashion. It worked great until we started testing across a wider network and suddenly pages started timing out as the latency of the connections and the time required to perform calculations on remote machines resulted in timed out requests to the soap services. It turned out that we needed to change the architecture to spin requests out onto their own threads and cache the returned data so it could be updated progressively in the background rather than performing calculations on a request by request basis. The details of that scenario are not too important - indeed it's not a great example as it was quite forseeable and people who have written a lot of apps of this type for this type of environment might have anticipated it - except that it illustrates a way that one can start with a simple premise and model and suddenly have an escalation of complexity well into the development of the project. What strategies do you have for dealing with these types of functional changes whose need arises - often as a result of environmental factors rather than specification change - later on in the development process or as a result of testing? How do you balance between avoiding the premature optimisation/ YAGNI/ overengineering risks of designing a solution that mitigates against possible but not necessarily probable issues as opposed to developing a simpler and easier solution that is likely to be as effective but doesn't incorporate preparedness for every possible eventuality?
