  I need a software that simulates a network adapter. I need the virtual adapters will be able to communicate with each other. For example, if I i have 2 virtual adapter (on the same computer): interface1-1.1.1.1 and interface2-1.1.1.2. I want the packets that will be send through interface1 will be received in interface2. I have as an option to install VMWare server, but i prefer something more specific. anyone have ideas?

• How to handle request-wise DB transactions in ASP.NET MVC?

  I'm using SubSonic 3.0 (SimpleRepository) to handle database access in my ASP.NET MVC 1.0 application. It would be nice to handle a transaction for every web request, committing if everything went smooth and rolling back in case of exception. Is this possible? If so, how? I know this topic has been discussed many times, but I just couldn't find a satisfactory answer. I have built my own solution (create a TransactionScope in the controller, then commit/rollback in OnActionExecuted), but it turns out to be very unreliable.

  Hi Everyone, I am slowly getting the hang of Rails and thanks to a few people I now have a basic grasp of the database relations and associations etc. You can see my previous questions here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2714621/rails-database-relationships I have setup my applications models with all of the necessary has_one and has_many :through etc. but when I go to add a kase and choose from a company from the drop down list - it doesnt seem to be assigning the company ID to the kase. • Back button title not receiving previous view controller's title

  I am pushing 2 view controllers in to navigation stack in ApplicationDidFinishLaunching. [navigationController pushViewController:favorites animated:NO]; [navigationController pushViewController:root animated:NO]; The app loads fine, but on the start screen, the back button title is simply "Back". I do have a title for the FavoritesViewController, and a navigationItem title setup to Favorites. Am I missing something? Appreciate your help.

  Hi! Here's what I'm trying to do. I have an ASP.NET MVC web application, where I'd like to have a separate "admin" area (accessible via http://example.com/admin) and a regular area, available for all users. In both these parts of the site I have a /blogs section, but when accessing http://example.com/admin/blogs I want to be presented with admin interface for blogs, whereas usual http://example.com/blogs should just list all blogs. And the problem itself is: how do I get ASP.NET MVC to instantiate appropriate controllers, provided that there are two BlogsControllers: one in Site.Admin namespace, and the other is in Site.Sitefront namespace? Granted, I could rename admin controller to BlogsAdminController, but I'd like to keep the names as they already are.

  I'm making a core-data application that is view based. I can create the managedObjectContext and 'use' it in the app delegate, but can not pass it to the mainviewcontroller. Essentially, at the moment I have a SwitchViewController with MenuViewController (nested) and GameViewController (nested, which renders OpenGL ES). At the moment, I have animated view switching controlled in the SwitchViewController which works. But I want to call it after a player has selected the level from the MenuViewController and run the appropriate level in GameViewController. Not rocket science, I know. • ASP .net MVC Invoking default controller and action vs Setting a startup page

  Hi, I am developing code on the sample ASP .net MVC template provided by VS2010. The first time I ran the code without adding anything, the index.aspx page was invoked which is expected. But for some reasons I added a login.aspx and then accidentally set that as a startup page. Now when I ran the application the default startup url look like http://localhost/Views/login.aspx. I am thinking this is not a valid MVC routing path and I get the requested resource cannot be found error. I am not sure how to revert this back and make sure the default ../home/index is invoked. Can any one throw some light on this? Also should I not set the startup page as we do in asp .net webforms?

• Loading contents of TableView Controller after showing Tab

  Hello, I have a 4 tabbar application. The second tab has a tableviewController. When i select the second tab the tableview is displayed with it's contents and it works fine. The problem is that that data is comming from the network and it talks 2-3 seconds to load. So when i press the second tab it goes there after the contents have been loaded. How can i show an empty tableview (i'll put an activity indicator) and then load and show the contents? Teo

• Reading int from a hidden field in .aspx

  Hi, I'm struggling to read an int from the hidden field on aspx page. <input type = "hidden" id = "myIntegerId" name = "integerId" value= "<%: Model.MyObjectId %>" runat = "server" /> The value is definately on the form, I can see it in the debugger and print it with <%: % When I read the form values in the controller, instead of an int I recieve a following string: <%: Model.MyObjectId % I have tried casting data in the hidden field to string and calling ToString() method on that field, neither has worked. The data is submitted using the post event. I have a feeling that I'm missing something very basic... Any help is greately appreciated. Thanks

This isn't very dry. I'd like to have something like def messagesub(asset) @asset.message.gsub.... end or something like that so I can just use messagesub method in each controller.
