• Synergy setup broke on upgrade

  I had synergy setup working fine with version 1.3.7, however I got a new computer and decided to set it up as well. Because the setup I was working with was ubuntu (server - dual monitors) mac (client) and the new computer (replacing the mac) was windows, I ended up updating everything to 1.4.10. ______ ______ ______ | mac | ubu1 | ubu2 | |______|______|______| The problem is currently that dragging to the left of ubu1 causes the cursor on the mac to flicker briefly and then the cursor shows up at the bottom right corner of ubu2. • Disabling horizontal scrolling using mouse wheel

  Hello, I am using Windows 7 x64 on an iMac (via BootCamp) with the button-less Magic Mouse that comes with the iMac. I would like to disable the horizontal scrolling that happens when you move slightly the finger horizontally while doing a vertical scrolling. In the Control Panel, Mouse section, Wheel tab, Horizontal Scrolling section, the minimum value that you can enter is 1, not 0. Is there a way (in the Registry) to disable horizontal scrolling using the mouse wheel? Or to set that value to 0 to see if it does the trick? Notice that this is a Windows specific question, not Mac OSX or Apple or Magic Mouse question, it can apply to any mouse in Windows whose wheel supports horizontal scrolling apart from vertical scrolling.

  In a semi-critical .NET service application, what would be a good strategy for raising application events that could be monitored by network administration tools? The events would be for errors, status changes, and possibly other notifications. My company is planning to use some kind of tool down the road to monitor all critical machines and services. As of right now they are using Spice Works to do some monitoring but it is not known if they will keep this down the road. By strategy I mean, perhaps using some sort of protocol ( my network admin has mentioned SNMP), perhaps a service such as windows event log. I have no idea what is available, so I'm leaving the options open. With that in mind, here is a list of preferences I came up with: Somewhat easy to use with .NET. • DNS server not functioning correctly

  I have setup a DNS server which isnt working properly. My domain is accswift.com which has glued to two name servers ns1.accswift.com and ns2.accswift.com for the same IP address - 203.78.164.18. • How to access shared folder between CentOS 6 and WinXP under vmware player 4

  Based on Sharing Files between CentOS 6 and Windows Systems with Samba I am able to follow until section of "Accessing Samba Shares". however, my system is WinXP and I don't see CentOS 6 icon at all. In my left panel of explorer, I only see "My network places". For section "Accessing Windows Shares from CentOS 6", after I click workgroup, I only see a localhost icon. When I click this icon, I see "unable to mount location" error from CentOS. BTW: I have set the shared folder within WMWare Player 6.0. Whatelse I have to do in order to make the shared folder work? • Program shortcuts disappearing in Windows Mobile 2003, any way to get them back?

  I have a WM2003 device with some programs installed on it and a full backup created and saved to a SD card. If the device runs out of charge for some time (or the battery removed) everything is reseted back to defaults, so the custom programs and configs are gone. When this happens I used to restore the full backup to put everything back to normal again. But I've recently installed TomTom Navigator 7 and for some reason, its shortcut in the "Programs" section is not saved when creating a full backup (with the eBackup app provided) and the installation doesn't create a shortcut in the main screen (as version 6 used to do). Is there any way to make this shortcut persistent? Is there any way to create custom shortcuts in the programs section or in the main screen (preferably)? In particular, I am configuring the X server on these machines, and I pushed a /etc/X11/XF86Config that includes the following section: Section "Device" Identifier "Device0" Driver "nvidia" VendorName "NVIDIA Corporation" BusID "PCI:5:0:0" EndSection The problem is that the BusID of the graphic card is PCI:5:0:0 for some machines, and PCI:3:0:0 for others.   There are plenty of discussions around NoSQL databases around and a lot of them are about data logging in the social media section. The problem I'm trying to solve falls more into the scientific computing section, where I have several 1000s of billions of pieces of information that I want to query with different a different criteria for each query. All data is at least a 4 dimensional space, which means I have a 3D location (x,y,z) and a time component - plus the value and unit. Say temperature at xyz and 10min in degree Celcius. A typical query result may contain several million results ... I have read about pretty much all NoSQL solutions being exceptionally fast for inserting records, but when it comes to querying them it's a different story. I'm leaning towards MongoDB for the implementation and platform for developing the necessary code since it is more closely related to the current solution using MySQL. Happy to be proven wrong though when it comes to the choice of the NoSQL solution.

  In Excel 2003, I am trying to keep track of some petty cash, and have it set up with the denomination along the top row, along with a sub total and difference column. I want a small section that shows how many rolls of coins I should have, by taking the total amount, and dividing it by however many should be in a roll, and rounding to the lowest whole number. That part is fine. What I want done is for that ONE section (how many rolls) I should have, based on the last row that has information in it. For example, if the last row is row 13, it should read the data from B13, C13, D13, etc. I don't mind learning Macros, if that's what the solution requires. I don't want to be manually selecting the last row each time though, I just want the worksheet to know automatically.

  In terms of actual low level atomic instructions and memory fences (I assume they're used), how do you implement STM? The part that's mysterious to me is that given some arbitrary chunk of code, you need a way to go back afterward and determine if the values used in each step were valid. How do you do that, and how do you do it efficiently? This would also seem to suggest that just like any other 'locking' solution you want to keep your critical sections as small as possible (to decrease the probability of a conflict), am I right? Also, can STM simply detect "another thread entered this area while the computation was executing, therefore the computation is invalid" or can it actually detect whether clobbered values were used (and thus by luck sometimes two threads may execute the same critical section simultaneously without need for rollback)?

  We are using Nagios to monitor our network with great results. There is now a new requirement we are struggling with: We want to notify Nagios of an non fatal but critical application errors. The application does not stop running but there is some sort of issue that needs looking into. Once the issue has been looked into, we need some way to "unflag" the issue in Nagios. We tried using the syslog, but the biggest problem was once an error was logged, the service was put into an error state with no way to recover. Also, while applications would report a critical error to the syslog, most of the time they don't report an "All clear" error.

I don't have control over the code in the base class and it is critical to the system that I derive from it. In my class I inherite two methods that are critical to the system and are used in pretty much every function, many times. I intend to refactor this derived class and extract some classes from it - this won't be a problem. What I'm not sure about is, is it worth extracting class if I have to constantly make call backs to my main class to access the two methods (or public wrappers to the methods)??? Thanks

  Ok, I am trying to place parameters into a function that is called like so: $parameters['function']($parameters['params']); Here is the function and the parameters that I need to be placed into this: $parameters['function'] = 'test_error'; $parameters['params'] = array(0 => $txt['sometext'], 1 => 'critical', 2 => true); The test_error function takes 3 parameters: The error to output The type of error noted within a string value ('general', 'critical', etc. etc.). • ATI Driver for HP Pavilion dv2 notebook?

  I'm looking for a Windows XP Professional (32-bit) ATI video driver for an HP Pavilion dv2 (model 1118nr). I've downloaded and run several drivers packages, but none have worked so far. The notebook has a sticker on it that reads, "ATI Radeon Premium Graphics 3000 Series" The notebook has an AMD Athlon Neo 64 CPU and it came with Vista 64, but I have a requirement to run 32-bit Windows XP. Does such a driver exist, and if so, where is it? I've tried the AMD ATI graphics drivers portal, but the "Mobility Radeon" section does not list the 3000 series. The "Radeon" section does list the 3000 series, but the package I downloaded and installed from there was not helpful. I also selected "All Graphics - Notebook" on the "Search Drivers and Downloads" page, then selected "Windows XP Professional/Home" on the OS drop down, pressed "Submit", and downloaded and installed the only choice (this single choice is listed twice), but again, it didn't seem to help.

• Synergy on Mac OS X 10.7

  Unfortunately, I can't seem to get Synergy to work between two Mac clients both using 10.7. One is an older 21" iMac and the other is a new 2011 Macbook Air. Here's my synergy.conf, symlinked to my home directory as ~/.synergy.conf section: screens foo: bar: super = alt alt = super end section: links foo: right = bar bar: left = foo end That is, I thought the super = alt trick was mandatory in order to have alt work on Mac but unfortunately, nothing really works. Both the Command and Control keys do NOT work on bar but work fine on foo given that the keyboard is paired with that screen. The keyboard modifier keys are the same on both computers and the making the mouse go between screens works as well. I was wondering if anyone else had any success or problems running into this issue on 10.7 and was hoping there was a possible fix.

  I am using Microsoft Word 2010 to format a book. I need different headers for different parts of the book. I have put them in different sections but my problem is when I click on Header to change or delete certain headers it changes the pages around in my document. For instance when I am looking at the page regularly the writing and section for page 20 is different then the writing and section when I am looking at it with the header and footer open. This is very frustrating because I can not properly change the headers. I hope this makes sense and somebody can explain what is going on and how to resolve this!

Also when I navigate to the 'Documents' section under an account it shows up with the format of the List components. However, if i click on 'New' or 'Actions' I get the following error message: An Error has occured in the script on this page. Error: Access is denied URL: https://*serveraddress*/crmgrid/scripts/crmmenu.htc Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? I have ran the power script which added the MIME .htc extention to IIS. Does anyone know what might be wrong?
