    Hi All, I have an MFC application that tries to change the system zone setting on the Windows Server 2008 R2. I am using the SetTimeZoneInformation() API which fails with the error code 1314 .i.e. “A required privilege is not held by the client.”.     I'm using the following python code to search for a node in an XML file and changing the value of an attribute of one of it's children.Changes are happening correctly when the node is displayed using toxml().But, when it is written to a file, the attributes rearrange themselves(as seen in the Source and the Final XML below). Could anyone explain how and why this happen?   • How to clean sys.conversation_endpoints

    I have a table, a trigger on the table implemented using service broker. More than Half million records are inserted daily into the table. The asynchronous SP is used to check sveral condition by using inserted data and update other tables. It was running fine for last 1 month and the SP was get executed withing 2-3 seconds of insertion of record. But now it take more than 90 minute. At present sys.conversation_endpoints have too much records. (Note that all the table are truncated daily as I do not need those records day after) Other database activities are normal (average 60% CPU Utilization). Now where i need to look?? I can re-create database without any problem but i don't think it is a good way to resolve the problem

    All frameworks aside, what are some of the common helper functions/prototype methods you use on a daily basis? Please note I am not arguing against frameworks. I've simply found that the majority of what I do on a daily basis can, most often, be done with a few dozen Array, String and Element.prototype methods. With the addition of a few helper functions like $ (getElementsById) and $$$ (getElementsByClass), I am able to satisfy some of the core benefits, however basic, of a much heavier framework. If you were to collect a small library of basic methods and functions to replace the core functionality of some of the popular frameworks, what would they be?

    Hello, I have designed a trading application that handles customers stocks investment portfolio. I am using two datastore kinds: Stocks - Contains unique stock name and its daily percent change. UserTransactions - Contains information regarding a specific purchase of a stock made by a user : the value of the purchase along with a reference to Stock for the current purchase. db.Model python modules: class Stocks (db.Model): stockname = db.StringProperty(multiline=True) dailyPercentChange=db.FloatProperty(default=1.0) class UserTransactions (db.Model): buyer = db.UserProperty() value=db.FloatProperty() stockref = db.ReferenceProperty(Stocks) Once an hour I need to update the database: update the daily percent change in Stocks and then update the value of all entities in UserTransactions that refer to that stock. In the dashboard, I see that the task.py takes around 65% of the CPU (Stock.py takes around 20%-30%) and I am using almost all of the 6.5 free CPU hours given to me by app engine. I have no problem to enable billing and pay for additional CPU, but the problem is the scaling of the system… Using 6.5 CPU hours for 100 stocks is very poor. I was wondering, given the requirements of the system as mentioned above, if there is a better and more efficient implementation (or just a small change that can help with the current implemntation) than the one presented here.   • Jquery $.post and PHP - Prevent the ability to use script outside of main website.

    I have a PHP script setup using Jquery $.post which would return a response or do an action within the targeted .php file within $.post. Eg. My page has a form where you type in your Name. Once you hit the submit form button, $.post is called and sends the entered Name field value into "mywebsite.xyz/folder/ajaxscript.php" If a user was to visit "mywebsite.xyz/folder/ajaxscript.php" directly and somehow POST the data to the script, the script would return a response / do an action, based on the submitted POST data. The problem is, I don't want others to be able to periodically "call" an action or request a response from my website without using the website directly. Theoretically, right now you could determine what Name values my website allows without even visiting it, or you could call an action without going through the website, by simply visiting "mywebsite.xyz/folder/ajaxscript.php" So, what measures can I take to prevent this from happening? So far my idea is to ensure that it is a $_POST and not a $_GET - so they cannot manually enter it into the browser, but they could still post data to the script... Another measure is to apply a session key that expires, and is only valid for X amount of visits until they revisit the website. ~ Or, just have a daily "code" that changes and they'd need to grab this code from the website each day to keep their direct access to the script working (eg. I pass the daily "code" into each post request. I then check that code matches in the ajax php script.) However, even with these meaures, they will STILL have access to the scripts so long as they know how to POST the data, and also get the new code each day. Also, having a daily code requirement will cause issues when visiting the site at midnight (12:00am) as the code will change and the script will break for someone who is on the website trying to call the script, with the invalid code being passed still. I have attempted using .htaccess however using: order allow,deny deny from all Prevents legitimate access, and I'd have to add an exception so the website's IP is allowed to access it.. which is a hassle to update I think. Although, if it's the only legitimate solution I guess I'll have to. If I need to be more clear please let me know.

  • Paypal recuring IPN signals

    When creating Paypal recurring payments i don't receive any notifications from IPN that the recurring payments were actually made. I do receive the notifications that recurring profiles are created, that regular payments are made, that profile is canceled and so on. But no notifications when Paypal make the recurring payment. The file that process the ipn notification works fine and i think is bug free.It also send me an email every time he got something from Paypal(with row POST data) so i don't think the problem is here. Does Paypal send these notifications.If i set a daily recurring payment i should get a daily notification that payment was made? From what i read in documentation i should get these signals but..   • How to improve performance of map that loads new overlay images

    I have inherited a website to maintain that uses a html map overlaying a real map to link specific countries to specific pages. previously it loaded the default map image, then with some javascript it would change the image src to an image with that particular country in a different colour on mouseover and reset the image source back to the original image on mouse out to make maintenance (adding new countries) easier i made the initial map a background image by utilising some CSS for the div tag, and then created new images for each country which only had that countries hightlight so that the images remain fairly small. this works great but theres one issue which is particularly noticeable on slower internet connections when you hover over a country if you dont have the image file in your browser cache or downloaded it wont load the image unless you hover over another country and then back onto the first country - i guess this is due to the image having to manually be downloaded on first hover. My question: is it possible to force the load of these extra images AFTER the page and all the other assets have finished loading so that this behaviour is all but eliminated? the html code for the MAP is as follows: <div class="gtmap"><img id="Image-Maps_6200909211657061" src="<?php echo cdnhttpsCheck();     Does anyone have a macro that copy data from one sheet to another based on the current date? I am working with a single workbook of three sheets. Sheet one will hold the manual input of daily production figures for multiple plants, sheet two is to hold ongoing daily data, keyed on sheet one. The macro will be associated with a button, so that once clicked it would search for every row that has a date of today, and copy that row to the next available blank row on sheet two. Sample Data...     Sorry about the title—wasn’t sure how to word it. Basically I have some XML like this: <countries> <country handle="bangladesh"/> <country handle="india"/> <country handle="pakistan"/> </countries> And some XSLT like this (which doesn’t work): <xsl:template match="/countries"> <xsl:param name="popular"/> <xsl:apply-templates select="country[count($popular/country[@handle = current()/@handle]) &gt; 0]" /> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="/countries/country"> … </xsl:template> I want to pass in a list of popular destinations like this: <popular> <country handle="india"/> <country handle="pakistan"/> </popular> …to the /countries template and have it only operate on the ones in the $popular param. At the moment this simply does nothing. Changing the selector to country[true()] operates on them all, so at least I know the basic structure is right. Any ideas? I think I may be getting confused by what is currently “current()”.

    Hi all, I am creating a Daily Reccurrance pattern in calendar items. But there is a issue as before clicking "save and Send Invitations" button, but in the Document Properties field i am able to view the RepeatForUnit and based on its value i am identifying the Reccurrance type like (D: for daily, W: for Weekly, M: for montlhy etc). But, After clicking on the "save and Send Invitations" button, the Recurrance is getting saved but after that, i am unable to get the RepeatForUnit field in Document Properties. Kindly help me, how to identify the Reccurrance type and the related fields. Note: I am using Domino.dll using C#. Regards, Preeti

    Suppose I have the following data model: Entity Person Attribute name String Attribute personType String Attribute dailyRecords Entity CarpenterDailyRecord Attribute numberOfNailsHammered Int Attribute picNameOfFinishedCabinet String Entity WindowWasherDailyRecord Attribute nameOfBuildingWashed String Attribute numberOfWindowsWashed Int I would like to establish a to-many relationship between the Person.dailyRecords and 1 of the daily record entities (which changes depending on the person type). Of course, i could create a CarpenterPerson and WindowWasher entity which each points to it's unique daily record structure, but i have to group people together in my app somehow. so if i do a Group Entity: Entity Group Attribute people array i'm still stuck. how do i point to multiple & different Person entities? There must be an obvious answer, it's just i'm so new to all of this. thanks!

    I'm trying to calculate somebody's bowel health based on a points system. I can edit the data structure, or logic in any way. I'm just trying to write a function and data structure to handle this ability. Pseudo calculator function: // Bowel health calculator var points = 0; If age is from 30 and 34: points += 1 If age is from 35 and 40: points += 2 If daily BMs is from 1 and 3: points -= 1 If daily BMs is from 4 and 6: points -= 2 return points; Pseudo data structure: var points_map = { age: { '30-34': 1, '35-40': 2 }, dbm: { '1-3': -1, '4-6': -2 } }; I have a full spreadsheet of data like this, and I am trying to write a DRY version of code and a DRY version of this data (ie, probably not a string for the '30-34', etc) in order to handle this sort of thing without a humongous number of switch statements.

    Is it better to start developing an home project using the same technologies used at work to be more productive and effective? I'm not talking about a simple hello world web page but an home project with all bells and whistles that one day, maybe, you could sell on internet. This dilemma is often subject of flames between me and a friend. He thinks that if you want to make a great home-made project you need to use the same technologies used daily at work staying in the same scope too; for example, a c++ computer game programmer should develope an home-made c++ game. I'm pretty sure that developing using the same technologies used at work can be more productive at beginning, but surely less exciting and stimulating of working with other languages\ides\libraries out of your daily job. What's your opinion about that?

    What I have: A person daily send to me an email, which has a zip'ed XML attachment. What I do: I save that attachment, unpack it and import via XML importerer to my web site. What I need: Automatic script, what I can automatically forward my email to ex.: [email protected] and read that attachment via some php file in my website, which maybe will be activated daily via server cronjob.     Hello everyone, I have two SQL Server 2008 Enterprise databases (on two machines), and one of the databases is master database and another database is slave database (master database is read/write, slave database is readonly). I want to have daily update from master database to slave database (i.e. new data inserted/updated/deleted in master database could be synchronized to slave database daily or manually controlled).   • SQL with HAVING and temp table not working in Rails

    I can't get the following SQL query to work quite right in Rails. It runs, but it fails to do the "HAVING row_number = 1" part, so I'm getting all the records, instead of just the first record from each group. A quick description of the query: it is finding hotel deals with various criteria, and in particular, priortizing them being paid, and then picking the one with the highest dealrank. So, if there are paid deal(s), it'll take the highest one of those (by dealrank) first, if no paid deals, it takes the highest dealrank unpaid deal for each hotel. Using MAX(dealrank) or something similar does not work as a way to pick off the first row of each hotel group, which is why I have the enclosing temptable and the creation of the row_number column. Here's the query: SELECT *, @num := if(@hid = hotel_id, @num + 1, 1) as row_number, @hid := hotel_id as dummy FROM ( SELECT hotel_deals.*, affiliates.cpc, (CASE when affiliates.cpc 0 then 1 else 0 end) AS paid FROM hotel_deals INNER JOIN hotels ON hotels.id = hotel_deals.hotel_id LEFT OUTER JOIN affiliates ON affiliates.id = hotel_deals.affiliate_id WHERE ((hotel_deals.percent_savings = 0) AND (hotel_deals.booking_deadline = ?)) GROUP BY hotel_deals.hotel_id, paid DESC, hotel_deals.dealrank ASC) temptable HAVING row_number = 1 I'm currently using Rails' find_by_sql to do this, although I've also tried putting it into a regular find using the :select, :from, and :having parts (but :having won't get used unless you have a :group as well). If there is a different way to write this query, that'd be good to know too. I am using Rails 2.3.5, MySQL 5.0.x.
