  • Running Outlook from VB with multiple email addresses [migrated]

    - by Mac
I am sending emails from my VB6 system and I am having problems with sending a single email to various email addresses. The code is as follows: On Error Resume Next Err.Clear Set oOutLookObject = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") If Err <> 0 Then MsgBox "Email error. Err = " & Err & " Description = " & Err.Description EmailValid = "N" Exit Function End If Set oEmailItem = oOutLookObject.CreateItem(0) If Err <> 0 Then MsgBox "Email error. Err = " & Err & " Description = " & Err.Description EmailValid = "N" Exit Function End If With oEmailItem .Recipients.Add (SMRecipients) .Subject = SMSubject .Importance = IMPORTANCENORMAL .Body = SMBody For i = 1 To 10 If RTrim(SMAttach(i)) <> "" Then .attachments.Add SMAttach(1) 'i) Else Exit For End If Next i .send End With If Err <> 0 Then MsgBox "Email error. Err = " & Err & " Description = " & Err.Description EmailValid = "N" Exit Function End If ''' .Attachments.Add ("c:\temp\test2.txt") Set oOutLookObject = Nothing I have set SMRecipients to a single email address and it is fine but when I add more addresses seperated by semicolons or spaces it only sends to the original address. My system runs under XP. Another point is that it use to find the addresses in the Outlook Address book and where they wetre not specific enough it would display the matching addresses for selection of the correct one. It no longer does this.

  • Encoding Special Characters For Outlook HTML Email

    - by n0chi
I have an asp.net / C# page which takes a comment, and then emails that comment. Sometimes when the user enters "&" in the comment, the comment is being truncated. So for example if the comment is "test & test" the email only sends out "test ". I have tried HttpUtility.HtmlEncode - but it looks like the issue is on the outlook side and not on the C# side.

  • How to embed functionality into HTML email?

    - by Crashalot
We want to let users click a thumbs up or thumbs down button from an HTML email, without causing the clicking to open a browser window. Is there a way to essentially embed limited web functionality (i.e., clicking an icon, showing confirmation) within HTML emails? Thanks!

  • System.Net.Mail.MailMessage Raw Content / Spam Assassin

    - by Martin
Hey everyone, What I am trying to do is pass the raw content of an outgoing email to spamassassin in order to calculate a spam score. I am stuck in how I might get the raw content of the email. My C# code currently just constructs the MailMessage and passes it the SmtpClient's Send() method. Before sending, is there a way to get a raw version of the mail message (as the protocol might see it) so that I can pass this to the spamassassin tool for spam assessment? If I've not explained very well, let me know and I'll try to explain better. Thanks in advance, Martin.

  • Convert input to integer before save in rails

    - by Micke
Hello, i have a set of select inputs representing a users birthday: birthyear, birthmonth and birthday. And i want to validate birthyear like this: validates_inclusion_of :birthyear, :in => Date.today.year-50..Date.today.year-12 So the user can be at least 12 years but at most 50 years when they are registering. But my problem is that the variable from the input is a string and not an integer. So how can i convert the input to an integer? or is there any easier way to check the users age? Thanks, Micke

  • validates_associated in production

    - by Rien
Hi all. Imagine a simple model. class Service belongs_to :user validates_associated :user accepts_nested_attributes_for :user end Nothing special right? The validations on the associated User model trigger correctly in development mode. But don't do anything in production. I've added a validates_on_presence :user just like the docs say. This triggers when there's no User associated with the Service, but fill in one thing on the User model and nothing happens! It's driving me up the walls. Am I overlooking something? More info about the MVC: I use formtastic for the forms. Thanks!

  • recaptcha asp.net always returns invalid

    - by Curtis White
The reCaptcha example for ASP.NET does not seem to work. I followed the instructions but it always returns false, "The verification words are incorrect.". The entries are good. I'm using localhost as the site but am not getting any public/private key errors which I did get when adding a bad key (as a test). I've seen this error reported a lot but no good answers. Some suggest to call the validate on the control before checking to see if it is valid but this did not work for me.

  • Recommendations for a .NET component to access an email inbox

    - by Ian Nelson
I've been asked to write a Windows service in C# to periodically monitor an email inbox and insert the details of any messages received into a database table. My instinct is to do this via POP3 and sure enough, Googling for ".NET POP3 component" produces countless (ok, 146,000) results. Has anybody done anything similar before and can you recommend a decent component that won't break the bank (a few hundred dollars maximum)? Would there be any benefits to using IMAP rather than POP3?

  • detect us military email address

    - by John
Does anybody know which domains to search for (other than ".mil") to look for military addresses posting to a web form? Clarification: we're offering a discount to our customers, and we really only have time to cough up an email address regex which can fit into our existing system. This is on LAMP.

  • Simple Custom rule for Jquery validator

    - by thatweblook
Hi, I read your reply regarding the jQuery validator where you outline a method to check a username against a value in a database. Ive tried implementing this method but no matter what is returned from the PHP file I always get the message that the username is already taken. Here is ths custom method... $.validator.addMethod("uniqueUserName", function(value, element) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "php/get_save_status.php", data: "checkUsername="+value, dataType:"html", success: function(msg) { // if the user exists, it returns a string "true" if(msg == "true") return false; // already exists return true; // username is free to use } })}, "Username is Already Taken"); And here is the validate code... username: { required: true, uniqueUserName: true }, Is there a specific way i am supposed to return the message from php. Thanks A

  • Regular expression for bounce email message

    - by Ryan
I am looking for a regular expression (or other method if there is such a thing) for detecting bounce email messages. So far I have been going through our unattended mail box and adding strings that I find into a regex. I figured someone would have something that is already complete rather than me re-inventing the wheel. Here is an example of what I have so far: /reason: 550|permanent fatal errors|Error 550|Action: Failed|Mailbox does not exist|Delivery to the following recipients failed/i
