  • window.location.href not working in Safari when using onkeypress

    - by insanepaul
    I'm using an asp textbox and a search button. In Safari if I click the search button i get redirected to the search results page using javascript window.location.href. But strangely the same javascript will not redirect to the page if I press return in the textbox. Using the alert function I can see that window.location.href has the the correct url and the location bar at the top changes from the search page(default.aspx) to the search results url however when I click OK to the alert box the url at the top reverts back to the default.aspx page. It works on ie7/8/firefox/chrome but not safari. Here is my javascript,cs and aspx code: function submitSearchOnEnter(e) { var CodeForEnter = 13; var codeEnteredByUser; if (!e) var e = window.event; if (e.keyCode) codeEnteredByUser = e.keyCode; else if (e.which) codeEnteredByUser = e.which; if (codeEnteredByUser == CodeForEnter) RedirectToSearchPage(); } function RedirectToSearchPage() { var searchText = $get('<%=txtHeaderSearch.ClientID%>').value if (searchText.length) { window.location.href = "Search.aspx?searchString=" + searchText; } } protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { txtHeaderSearch.Attributes.Add("onkeypress", "submitSearchOnEnter(event)"); } <asp:Panel ID="pnlSearch" runat="server" DefaultButton="lnkSearch"> <asp:TextBox ID="txtHeaderSearch" runat="server" CssClass="searchBox"></asp:TextBox> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkSearch" OnClientClick="RedirectToSearchPage(); return false;" CausesValidation="false" runat="server" CssClass="searchButton"> SEARCH </asp:LinkButton> </asp:Panel> I've tried return false; which doesn't allow me to enter any characters in the search box. I've spent ages online trying to find a solution. Maybe it has something to do with setTimeout or setTimeInterval but it didn't work unless i did it wrong.

  • AJAX CascadingDropDown ViewState Problem

    - by Steven
    Question: How do I maintain both the contents (from queries) and selected value of both dropdowns after postback? Source Code: Download my source code from this link (link now works). Just add a reference to your AjaxControlToolkit User Action: Select a value from each dropdown. Click Submit. After Postback: StatesDrop: (Selected value), CitiesDrop "Select a City" Before and after: I believe that when the first dropdown gets its selected value, the second dropdown refreshes and therefore loses its selected value. • Crystal Report: Missing Parameter Values

    Hi! I am new to Crystal report, application is on ASP.net 3.5 and MySQL 5.1 with, going to develop report with between dates from date and to date, first page of report is shown good but when i tried to navigate on another page i got error like Missing Parameter Values Thanks in advance public partial class BookingStatement : System.Web.UI.Page { //DAL is my Data Access Layer Class //Book is ReportClass DAL obj = new DAL(); Book bkStmt = new Book(); protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { //crvBooking is Crystal Report Viewer //reportFill method is to fill Report reportFill(); crvBooking.EnableViewState = true; crvBooking.EnableParameterPrompt = false; } /* Also try reportFill() out side !IsPostBack but didn't work */ //Check if the parmeters have been shown. /* if ((ViewState["ParametersShown"] != null) && (ViewState["ParametersShown"].ToString() == "True")) { bkStmt.SetParameterValue(0, "20/04/2010"); bkStmt.SetParameterValue(1, "20/04/2010"); }*/ } protected void crvBooking_navigate(object sender, CrystalDecisions.Web.NavigateEventArgs e) { // reportFill(); } protected void reportFill() { //bkStmt.rpt is Report file //bookingstatment is View //bkStmt is ReportClass object of Book string rptPath = "bkStmt.rpt"; string query = "select * from bookingstatment"; crvBooking.RefreshReport(); crvBooking.Height = 600; crvBooking.Width = 900; bkStmt.ResourceName = rptPath; String dtFrm = bkStmt.ParameterFields[0].CurrentValues.ToString(); obj.SetCommandType(CommandType.Text); obj.CommText = query; DataTable dtst = obj.GetDataTable(); crvBooking.ParameterFieldInfo.Clear(); ParameterDiscreteValue discretevalue = new ParameterDiscreteValue(); discretevalue.Value = "20/04/2010"; // Assign parameter ParameterValues values = new ParameterValues(); values.Add(discretevalue); bkStmt.SetDataSource(dtst); ViewState["ParametersShown"] = "True"; crvBooking.EnableViewState = true; bkStmt.DataDefinition.ParameterFields[0].ApplyCurrentValues(values); bkStmt.DataDefinition.ParameterFields[1].ApplyCurrentValues(values); crvBooking.ReportSource = bkStmt; } }

  • Make winform run away from the mouse.

    - by JACK IN THE CRACK
    Okay so I'm trying to make a little gag program that will "run away" from the mouse. So, to get the mouse coordinates for the whole screen and not just the form control I had to create a little helper: static class MouseHelper { [DllImport("user32.dll")] [return: MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Bool)] internal static extern bool GetCursorPos(ref Point pt); public static Point GetPosition() { Point w32Mouse = new Point(); GetCursorPos(ref w32Mouse); return w32Mouse; } } Now I thought I was going to use the MouseMove event... but that doesn't work for outside the form control either so I have an auto-enabled timer on a 10ms loop called timerMouseMove. public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private bool CollisionCheck() { Point win32Mouse = MouseHelper.GetPosition(); if (win32Mouse.X <= Location.X || win32Mouse.X >= (Location.X + Width)) return false; if (win32Mouse.Y <= Location.Y || win32Mouse.Y >= (Location.Y + Height)) return false; return true; } private void timerMouseMove_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (CollisionCheck()) Location = new Point(Location.X + 1, Location.Y + 1); } } So this works out nicely, at least I have the collision checking working and whatnot. But now, how should I go about figuring which side of the form the mouse has collided with, so that I can update its location to move in the opposite direction the mouse collides with it? And such halp

  • Json HTTP Module stream issue

    - by Justin
    Hey, I have an HTTP Module that I use to clean up the JSON returned by my web service (see http://www.codeproject.com/KB/webservices/ASPNET_JSONP.aspx?msg=3400287#xx3400287xx for an example of this.) Basically it relates to calling cross-domain JSON web services from javascript. There is this JsonHttpModule which uses a JsonResponseFilter Stream class to write out the JSON and the overloaded Write method is supposed to wrap the name of the callback function around the JSON, otherwise the JSON errors out as needing a label. However, if the JSON is really long, the Write method in the Stream class is called multiple times, causing the callback function to incorrectly get inserted midway through the JSON. Is there a way in the Stream class to wrap the callback function around the stream at the end or to specify that it write all of the JSON in 1 Write method instead of in chunks?? Here's where it calls the JsonResponseFilter in the JsonHttpModule: public void OnReleaseRequestState(object sender, EventArgs e) { HttpApplication app = (HttpApplication)sender; if (!_Apply(app.Context.Request)) return; // apply response filter to conform to JSONP app.Context.Response.Filter = new JsonResponseFilter(app.Context.Response.Filter, app.Context); } Here's the Write method in the JsonResponseFilter Stream class that gets called multiple times: public override void Write(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count) { var b1 = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(_context.Request.Params["callback"] + "("); _responseStream.Write(b1, 0, b1.Length); _responseStream.Write(buffer, offset, count); var b2 = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(");"); _responseStream.Write(b2, 0, b2.Length); } Thanks for any help! • Sendkeys problem from .NET program

    - by user203123
    THe code below I copied from MSDN with a bit of modification: [DllImport("user32.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Unicode)] public static extern IntPtr FindWindow(string lpClassName,string lpWindowName); DllImport("User32")] public static extern bool SetForegroundWindow(IntPtr hWnd); int cnt = 0; private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { IntPtr calculatorHandle = FindWindow("Notepad", "Untitled - Notepad"); if (calculatorHandle == IntPtr.Zero) { MessageBox.Show("Calculator is not running."); return; } SetForegroundWindow(calculatorHandle); SendKeys.SendWait(cnt.ToString()); SendKeys.SendWait("{ENTER}"); cnt++; SendKeys.Flush(); System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1000); } The problem is the number sequence in Notepad is not continuously. The first click always results 0 (as expected). but from the second click, the result is unpredictable (but the sequence is still in order, e.g. 3, 4, 5, 10, 14, 15, ....) If I click the button fast enough, I was able to get the result in continuous order (0,1,2,3,4,....) but sometimes it produces more than 2 same numbers (e.g. 0,1,2,3,3,3,4,5,6,6,6,7,8,9,...)

  • Keeping the UI responsive while parsing a very large logfile

    - by Carlos
    I'm writing an app that parses a very large logfile, so that the user can see the contents in a treeview format. I've used a BackGroundWorker to read the file, and as it parses each message, I use a BeginInvoke to get the GUI thread to add a node to my treeview. Unfortunately, there's two issues: The treeview is unresponsive to clicks or scrolls while the file is being parsed. I would like users to be able to examine (ie expand) nodes while the file is parsing, so that they don't have to wait for the whole file to finish parsing. The treeview flickers each time a new node is added. Here's the code inside the form: private void btnChangeDir_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { OpenFileDialog browser = new OpenFileDialog(); if (browser.ShowDialog() == DialogResult.OK) { tbSearchDir.Text = browser.FileName; BackgroundWorker bgw = new BackgroundWorker(); bgw.DoWork += (ob, evArgs) => ParseFile(tbSearchDir.Text); bgw.RunWorkerAsync(); } } private void ParseFile(string inputfile) { FileStream logFileStream = new FileStream(inputfile, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read, FileShare.ReadWrite); StreamReader LogsFile = new StreamReader(logFileStream); while (!LogsFile.EndOfStream) { string Msgtxt = LogsFile.ReadLine(); Message msg = new Message(Msgtxt.Substring(26)); //Reads the text into a class with appropriate members AddTreeViewNode(msg); } } private void AddTreeViewNode(Message msg) { TreeNode newNode = new TreeNode(msg.SeqNum); BeginInvoke(new Action(() => { treeView1.BeginUpdate(); treeView1.Nodes.Add(newNode); treeView1.EndUpdate(); Refresh(); } )); } What needs to be changed?

  • adding multiple <asp:Hyperlink>s into a repeater

    - by Colin Pickard
    I have a repeater control, and I want to put an unknown number of <asp:Hyperlink>s into the template, for example if you start with this: <asp:Repeater runat="server" ID="PetsRepeater"> <ItemTemplate> <%#DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Owner")%> <%#this.ListPets(Container.DataItem)%> </ItemTemplate> </asp:Repeater> and in code behind: public partial class test1 : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!Page.IsPostBack) { PetOwner p = new PetOwner() { Owner = "Jimmy", PetNames = new List<String>() { "Nemo", "Dory" } }; List<PetOwner> PetOwners = new List<PetOwner>() { p }; PetsRepeater.DataSource = PetOwners; PetsRepeater.DataBind(); } } protected String ListPets(Object PetOwner) { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); foreach (String Name in ((PetOwner)PetOwner).PetNames) { if (sb.Length > 0) sb.Append(", "); sb.Append(Name); } return sb.ToString(); } } class PetOwner { public String Owner; public List<String> PetNames; } Now suppose instead of having the string "Nemo, Dory" in my repeater, I want something like this: <asp:HyperLink runat=server Text="Nemo" NavigateUrl="Pet.aspx?Name=Nemo" />, <asp:HyperLink runat=server Text="Dory" NavigateUrl="Pet.aspx?Name=Dory" /> How can I do that? I tried putting a foreach inline in the aspx page, but I get the error Invalid expression term 'foreach'.

  • What am I doing wrong with HttpResponse content and headers when downloading a file?

    - by Slauma
    I want to download a PDF file from a SQL Server database which is stored in a binary column. There is a LinkButton on an aspx page. The event handler of this button looks like this: protected void LinkButtonDownload(object sender, EventArgs e) { ... byte[] aByteArray; // Read binary data from database into this ByteArray // aByteArray has the size: 55406 byte Response.ClearHeaders(); Response.ClearContent(); Response.BufferOutput = true; Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + "12345.pdf"); Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"; using (BinaryWriter aWriter = new BinaryWriter(Response.OutputStream)) { aWriter.Write(aByteArray, 0, aByteArray.Length); } } A "File Open/Save dialog" is offered in my browser. When I store this file "12345.pdf" to disk, the file has a size of 71523 Byte. The additional 16kB at the end of the PDF file are the HTML code of my page (as I can see when I view the file in an editor). I am confused because I was believing that ClearContent and ClearHeaders would ensure that the page content is not sent together with the file content. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks for help!

  • PInvokeStackImbalance -- C# with offreg.dll ( windows ddk7 )

    - by user301185
    I am trying to create an offline registry in memory using the offreg.dll provided in the windows ddk 7 package. You can find out more information on the offreg.dll here: MSDN Currently, while attempted to create the hive using ORCreateHive, I receive the following error: "Managed Debugging Assistant 'PInvokeStackImbalance' has detected a problem. This is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature. Check that the calling convention and parameters of the PInvoke signature match the target unmanaged signature." Here is the offreg.h file containing ORCreateHive: typedef PVOID ORHKEY; typedef ORHKEY *PORHKEY; VOID ORAPI ORGetVersion( __out PDWORD pdwMajorVersion, __out PDWORD pdwMinorVersion ); DWORD ORAPI OROpenHive ( __in PCWSTR lpHivePath, __out PORHKEY phkResult ); DWORD ORAPI ORCreateHive ( __out PORHKEY phkResult ); DWORD ORAPI ORCloseHive ( __in ORHKEY Handle ); The following is my C# code attempting to call the .dll and create the pointer for future use. using System.Runtime.InteropServices; namespace WindowsFormsApplication6 { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } [DllImport("offreg.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, EntryPoint = "ORCreateHive", SetLastError=true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern IntPtr ORCreateHive2(); private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { IntPtr myHandle = ORCreateHive2(); } catch (Exception r) { MessageBox.Show(r.ToString()); } } } } I have been able to create pointers in the past with no issue utilizing user32.dll, icmp.dll, etc. However, I am having no such luck with offreg.dll. Thank you.

  • Using Build Manager Class to Load ASPX Files and Populate its Controls

    - by Sandhurst
    I am using BuildManager Class to Load a dynamically generated ASPX File, please note that it does not have a corresponding .cs file. Using Following code I am able to load the aspx file, I am even able to loop through the control collection of the dynamically created aspx file, but when I am assigning values to controls they are not showing it up. for example if I am binding the value "Dummy" to TextBox control of the aspx page, the textbox remains empty. Here's the code that I am using protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { LoadPage("~/Demo.aspx"); } public static void LoadPage(string pagePath) { // get the compiled type of referenced path Type type = BuildManager.GetCompiledType(pagePath); // if type is null, could not determine page type if (type == null) throw new ApplicationException("Page " + pagePath + " not found"); // cast page object (could also cast an interface instance as well) // in this example, ASP220Page is a custom base page System.Web.UI.Page pageView = (System.Web.UI.Page)Activator.CreateInstance(type); // call page title pageView.Title = "Dynamically loaded page..."; // call custom property of ASP220Page //pageView.InternalControls.Add( // new LiteralControl("Served dynamically...")); // process the request with updated object ((IHttpHandler)pageView).ProcessRequest(HttpContext.Current); LoadDataInDynamicPage(pageView); } private static void LoadDataInDynamicPage(Page prvPage) { foreach (Control ctrl in prvPage.Controls) { //Find Form Control if (ctrl.ID != null) { if (ctrl.ID.Equals("form1")) { AllFormsClass cls = new AllFormsClass(); DataSet ds = cls.GetConditionalData("1"); foreach (Control ctr in ctrl.Controls) { if (ctr is TextBox) { if (ctr.ID.Contains("_M")) { TextBox drpControl = (TextBox)ctr; drpControl.Text = ds.Tables[0].Rows[0][ctr.ID].ToString(); } else if (ctr.ID.Contains("_O")) { TextBox drpControl = (TextBox)ctr; drpControl.Text = ds.Tables[1].Rows[0][ctr.ID].ToString(); } } } } } } }

  • How to Bind Data and manipulate it in a GridView with MVP

    - by DotNetDan
    I am new to the whole MVP thing and slowly getting my head around it all. The a problem I am having is how to stay consistent with the MVP methodology when populating GridViews (and ddls, but we will tackle that later). Is it okay to have it connected straight to an ObjectDataSourceID? To me this seems wrong because it bypasses all the separation of concerns MVP was made to do. So, with that said, how do I do it? How do I handle sorting (do I send over handler events to the presentation layer, if so how does that look in code)? Right now I have a GridView that has no sorting. Code below. ListCustomers.aspx.cs: public partial class ListCustomers : System.Web.UI.Page, IlistCustomer { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { //On every page load, create a new presenter object with //constructor recieving the // page's IlistCustomer view ListUserPresenter ListUser_P = new ListUserPresenter(this); //Call the presenter's PopulateList to bind data to gridview ListUser_P.PopulateList(); } GridView IlistCustomer.UserGridView { get { return gvUsers; } set { gvUsers = value; } } } Interface ( IlistCustomer.cs): is this bad sending in an entire Gridview control? public interface IlistCustomer { GridView UserGridView { set; get; } } The Presenter (ListUserPresenter.cs): public class ListUserPresenter { private IlistCustomer view_listCustomer; private GridView gvListCustomers; private DataTable objDT; public ListUserPresenter( IlistCustomer view) { //Handle an error if an Ilistcustomer was not sent in) if (view == null) throw new ArgumentNullException("ListCustomer View cannot be blank"); //Set local IlistCustomer interface view this.view_listCustomer = view; } public void PopulateList() { //Fill local Gridview with local IlistCustomer gvListCustomers = view_listCustomer.UserGridView; // Instantiate a new CustomerBusiness object to contact database CustomerBusiness CustomerBiz = new CustomerBusiness(); //Call CustomerBusiness's GetListCustomers to fill DataTable object objDT = CustomerBiz.GetListCustomers(); //Bind DataTable to gridview; gvListCustomers.DataSource = objDT; gvListCustomers.DataBind(); } }

  • Disable Painting of the VScrollbar in a System.Windows.Forms.RichTextBox

    - by SchlaWiener
    I have a custom control inherited from RichTextBox. This control has the ability to "disable" rich text editing. I achive this by just setting the Rtf property to the text property during the TextChanged event. this is how my code looks like: private bool lockTextChanged; void RichTextBox_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { // prevent StackOverflowException if (lockTextChanged) return; // remember current position int rtbstart = rtb.SelectionStart; int len = rtb.SelectionLength; // prevent painting rtb.SuspendLayout(); // set the text property to remove the entire formatting. lockTextChanged = true; rtb.Text = rtb.Text; rtb.Select(rtbstart, len); lockTextChanged = false; rtb.ResumeLayout(true); } That worked well. However in a large text with like 200 lines the controls jitters (you see the first lines of text for the wink). To prevent that from happening I filter the WM_PAINT between SuspendLayout() and ResumeLayout() private bool layoutSuspended; public new void SuspendLayout() { layoutSuspended = true; base.SuspendLayout(); } public new void ResumeLayout() { layoutSuspended = false; base.ResumeLayout(); } public new void ResumeLayout(bool performLayout) { layoutSuspended = false; base.ResumeLayout(performLayout); } private const int WM_PAINT = 0x000F; protected override void WndProc(ref System.Windows.Forms.Message m) { if (!(m.Msg == WM_PAINT && layoutSuspended)) base.WndProc(ref m); } that did the trick, the RichTextBox isn't jittering anymoe. That's what I wanted to achive, except one thing: The scrollbar is still jittering everytime I type text to my control. Now my question: Does anyone have a clue for me how to prevent the scrollbar from redrawing during Suspend/Resume Layout?

  • MS Dynamics CRM trapping .NET error before I can handle it

    - by clifgriffin
    This is a fun one. I have written a custom search page that provides faster, more user friendly searches than the default Contacts view and also allows searching of Leads and Contacts simultaneously. It uses GridViews bound to SqlDataSources that query filtered views. I'm sure someone will complain that I'm not using the web services for this, but this is just the design decision we made. These GridViews live in UpdatePanels to enable very slick AJAX updates upon search. It's all working great. Nearly ready to be deployed, except for one thing: Some long running searches are triggering an uncatchable SQL timeout exception. [SqlException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.] at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.ConsumeMetaData() at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlDataReader.get_MetaData() at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.FinishExecuteReader(SqlDataReader ds, RunBehavior runBehavior, String resetOptionsString) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReaderTds(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReader(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, String method, DbAsyncResult result) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteReader(CommandBehavior cmdBehavior, RunBehavior runBehavior, Boolean returnStream, String method) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior, String method) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteDbDataReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbCommand.System.Data.IDbCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.FillInternal(DataSet dataset, DataTable[] datatables, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, Int32 startRecord, Int32 maxRecords, String srcTable, IDbCommand command, CommandBehavior behavior) at System.Data.Common.DbDataAdapter.Fill(DataSet dataSet, String srcTable) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceView.ExecuteSelect(DataSourceSelectArguments arguments) at System.Web.UI.DataSourceView.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments arguments, DataSourceViewSelectCallback callback) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataBoundControl.PerformSelect() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.DataBind() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.EnsureDataBound() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.CompositeDataBoundControl.CreateChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.EnsureChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) I found that CRM is doing a server.transfer to capture this error because my UpdatePanels started throwing JavaSript errors when this error would occur. I was only able to get the full error message by using the JavaScript debugger in IE. Having found this error, I thought the solution would be simple. I just needed to wrap my databind calls in try/catch blocks to capture any errors. Unfortunately it seems CRM's IIS configuration has the magic ability to capture this error before it ever gets back to my code. Using the debugger I never see it. It never gets to my catch blocks, but it's clearly happening in the SQL Data Source which is clearly (by the stack trace) being triggered by my GridView bind. Any ideas on this? It's driving me crazy. Code Behind (with some irrelevant functions omitted): protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { //Initialize some stuff this.bannerOracle = new OdbcConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["OracleConnectionString"].ConnectionString); //Prospect default HideProspects(); HideProspectAddressColumn(); //Contacts default HideContactAddressColumn(); //Default error messages gvContacts.EmptyDataText = "Sad day. • Windows Form color changing

    - by Sef
    Hello, So i am attempting to make a MasterMind program as sort of exercise. Field of 40 picture boxes (line of 4, 10 rows) 6 buttons (red, green, orange, yellow, blue, purple) When i press one of these buttons (lets assume the red one) then a picture box turns red. My question is how do i iterate trough all these picture boxes? I can get it to work but only if i write : And this is offcourse no way to write this, would take me countless of lines that contain basicly the same. private void picRood_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { UpdateDisplay(); pb1.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.Red; } Press the red button - first picture box turns red Press the blue button - second picture box turns blue Press the orange button - third picture box turns orange And so on... Ive had a previous similar program that simulates a traffic light, there i could assign a value to each color (red 0, orange 1, green 2). Is something similar needed or how exactly do i adress all those picture boxes and make them correspond to the proper button. Best Regards.

  • Using Rx to synchronize asynchronous events

    - by Martin Liversage
    I want to put Reactive Extensions for .NET (Rx) to good use and would like to get some input on doing some basic tasks. To illustrate what I'm trying to do I have a contrived example where I have an external component with asyncronous events: class Component { public void BeginStart() { ... } public event EventHandler Started; } The component is started by calling BeginStart(). This method returns immediately, and later, when the component has completed startup, the Started event fires. I want to create a synchronous start method by wrapping the component and wait until the Started event is fired. This is what I've come up with so far: class ComponentWrapper { readonly Component component = new Component(); void StartComponent() { var componentStarted = Observable.FromEvent<EventArgs>(this.component, "Started"); using (var startedEvent = new ManualResetEvent(false)) using (componentStarted.Take(1).Subscribe(e => { startedEvent.Set(); })) { this.componenet.BeginStart(); startedEvent.WaitOne(); } } } I would like to get rid of the ManualResetEvent, and I expect that Rx has a solution. But how?

  • How to catch HttpRequestValidationException in production

    - by bruno
    Hello all, I have this piece of code to handle the HttpRequestValidationException in my global.asax.cs file. protected void Application_Error(object sender, EventArgs e) { var context = HttpContext.Current; var exception = context.Server.GetLastError(); if (exception is HttpRequestValidationException) { Response.Clear(); Response.StatusCode = 200; Response.Write(@"<html><head></head><body>hello</body></html>"); Response.End(); return; } } If I debug my webapplication, it works perfect. But when i put it on our production-server, the server ignores it and generate the "a potentially dangerous request.form value was detected from the client" - error page. I don't know what happens exactly... If anybody knows what the problem is, or what i do wrong..? Also I don't want to set the validaterequest on false in the web.config. The server uses IIS7.5, And I'm using asp.net 3.5. Thanks, Bruno

  • ASP.NET UpdatePanel > Get selected value from checbox list outside of panel

    Hi, I have a listing in an UpdatePanel I have some filters for that list in the form a checkboxList control. The checkboxList is created dynamically on page load During the Ajax update (postback), the checkbox list is not populated form the viewstate, so I cannot get the listing to filter. • Error when calling SQL SP via LINQ

    - by PaulC
    Newbie problem: I have a SQL SP with ten parameters (eight input, two output) but when I attempt to call it via LINQ from code I get the following error message: "The best overloaded method match for 'DataClassesDataContext.ST_CR_CREATE_CASE_BASIS(string, string, string, string, System.DateTime?, string, string, string, ref int?, ref int?)' has some invalid arguments". The params with ? appear to be unrecognized, but I'm baffled: the data types match the SQL types, the number of parameters match, the other parmeters don't exhibit the same behaviour. Can anyone tell me what's going on? Thanks in advance. -- SQL SP: create procedure ST_CR_CREATE_CASE_BASIS @p_Pers_No nvarchar (50), @p_Subject nvarchar (255), @p_RQ_XML nvarchar(max), @p_RQ_XSL nvarchar(max), @p_Date_Submit smalldatetime, @p_User_ID_Submit nvarchar (255), @p_RQ_Status nvarchar (50), @p_User_ID_OnBehalf nvarchar (255), @p_Case_Number int output, @p_RQ_ID int output as begin -- ... etc.; the SP works fine when called from SSMS The code-behind proc from the aspx page looks like this: protected void cmdSubmit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { using (DataClassesDataContext vDataCont = new DataClassesDataContext()) { Int32 vNewCaseNr; Int32 vNewReqNr; DateTime vNow = System.DateTime.Now; vDataCont.ST_CR_CREATE_CASE_BASIS("101", "Test Subject Late Wed", null, null, vNow , "101", "1", "101", ref vNewCaseNr, vNewReqNr); } }

    I am a PHP programmer. I have no .Net coding experience (last seen it 4 years ago). Not interested in code-behind model since this is a quick temporary hack. • ASP.NET SQLMembership Provider not logging in

    - by cfdev9
    My web app uses the sql memebership provider. Running it locally all is well, deploying to a dev server it works fine too in firefox, but in IE8 something unexpected is happening. Once a user logs in they're supposed to be redirected to home.aspx. What's happening when I attempt to login is it appears to accept the login credentials but then doesn't redirect to home.aspx. Instead it just redirects me to the login page as though I had attempted to access home.aspx directly without being logged in. The url parameter ReturnUrl is appended, Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fhome.aspx Why is this only happening with IE8? My local PC is IIS7 but the server is IIS6. Using the same web.config Full code behind public partial class Login : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!IsPostBack) { Session.Abandon();
