  I tried running a script using nohup like, nohup script.sh & When I tried ps -ef | grep "script.sh" I couldn't find it there except for the grep which is being run with that string as a parameter. Am I doing it right?. Does this mean that the process has indeed finished execution? Thanks.

  Hi I have a .doc with a command button (cmdStart) which opens a form. After populating the form I click a button to close the form and populate the .doc. I want to hide the initial cmdStart on the .doc as well when the form closes, Ive tries document.shapes(1).visible=false and cmdStart.visible=false but none seems to work. Any ideas? thanks (ps I cant just opne the form from the autonew, I need the cmdStart visible to begin with)

  Hello! In my Ubuntu 10.10, following this tutorial, I don't face step 2. I mean, while installing the packets, I don't face anything related to configuration. Then, when I run a command, such a mysql -u root -p , I get this error: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) As I see in other treads, ps aux | grep mysqld gives me just this output: 1000 4508 0.0 0.0 5172 760 pts/0 S+ 19:53 0:00 grep --color=auto mysqld What is happening?? • How do I strip local symbols from linux kernel module without breaking it?

  If I do --strip-debug or --strip-unneeded, I have the .ko that lists all function names with nm, if I do just strip foo.ko I have a kernel module that refuses to load. Does anyone know a quick shortcut how to remove all symbols that are not needed for module loading so that people cannot reverse engineer the API:s as easily? PS: For all you open source bigots; this is something that general public will never be using in any case so no need to turn the question into a GPL flame war.

Because categories are almost the same(they can change/add once a month or something), I don't think I have to query the database for each access of the web-page. Do you have a better idea for me?
