All goes well until I try to check out the email action and I get 'Could not perform this operation because the defaulty mail client in not properly installed. Is this a security /firewall issue? I dont know enough about servers to know what to look for, so any help will be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

  • Multiple checkbox values search javascript

    - by JV10
    I have a list of keywords, and I've created a checkbox for each. My template has a form wrapping the content, so I can't have a nested form around the checkbox list. How can I send the selected checkbox values to my search results page? The form that wraps the content doesn't have any actions or methods applied: <form id="BoostMasterForm" runat="server"> This the HTML markup of my checkbox list: <div class="checkboxes"> <ul> <li> <input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="one"> <label>one</label> </li> <li> <input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="two"> <label>two</label> </li> <li> <input type="checkbox" name="search" class="options" value="three"> <label>three</label> </li> </ul> <input type="submit" value="Submit"/> </div> How can I use javascript or jQuery to submit the values of the multiple checkbox selections and on submit action them to the following URL: '/imagery/image-search.aspx' The resulting URL for a search where option 1 and 3 are submitted should be: '/imagery/image-search.aspx?search=one%20three' I'm using this javascript that I found on another post, however I need it to append the form an the action and the method. My website is ASP, where this post is for a PHP site: Sending multiple checkbox options $('.options').click(function() { var selectedItems = new Array(); $(".checkboxes input:checkbox[name=search]:checked").each(function() {selectedItems.push($(this).val());}); var data = selectedItems.join('|'); $("#opts").val(data); }); If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated. Cheers, JV

  • jQuery: one-liner for removing all children but one

    - by user1352530
    HTML code is: <li> <a href="#" /> <ul> <li> <a href="#"/> </li> </ul> </li> I want to delete any node under $(this) = li that is not a link. If there are more than one link, just the first one is saved, and if there are links inside the ul tag, they are not included because they are descendants and no childrens. Something like this (I am cloning and outputting html): $(this).clone().remove('not(a:first)').html(); //Assuming remove looks for "a" as a first child Does not work, so I try with this: $(this).clone().children().remove('not(a:first)').parent().html(); Does not work so I try with this: $(this).clone().remove('not(>a:first)').html(); I need the original element as a reference after removal for chaining more operations EDIT: Ok! Second one works with a little syntax correction as some appointed (:not( instead of not() but I would like to know if there is any other solution similar to the third line so I don't have to do children().remove().parent(). Thank you!

  • Remote Install Mac OS X from Windows not on LAN?

    - by Frost Shadow
    I want to install applications from my Mac OS X install disc, or be able to archive-install from it, but it's back at my house outside my current LAN. Is there a way I can remotely access my OS X install disc on my home Windows XP computer from my Snow Leopard? In my help manual it says I can do remote installs, or use another computer's disc drive remotely, but it has to be with another computer on the LAN. Is there a way to combine my mac's LAN and my windows' LAN? I think it has something to do with making a VPN; is there a way to do that which will work between Snow Leopard and XP, doesn't require additional hardware, and is preferably free? Thanks a lot!

    I have this code, that checks some ids and enable others, the javascript is pretty clear about what it does, but since it corresponds to some specific id ranges, I cant do just a look until it finishes, but I'm looking a way to do this dynamic and save 40 lines of code (or more), since its not the best way. function loopGroup1() { var a = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-3_' + a).each(function(chk1) { // watch for clicks chk1.observe('click', function(evt) { dynamicCheckbox1(); }); dynamicCheckbox1(); }); a++; } while (a < 4); } function dynamicCheckbox1() { // count how many of group_first are checked, // doEnable true if any are checked var doEnable = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-3_0:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; var doEnable1 = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-3_1:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; var doEnable2 = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-3_2:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; // for each in group_second, enable the checkbox, and // remove the cssDisabled class from the parent label var i = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-4_' + i).each(function(item) { if (doEnable || doEnable1 || doEnable2) { item.enable().up('li').removeClassName('cssDisabled'); } else { item.disable().up('li').addClassName('cssDisabled'); } }); i++; } while (i < 4); }; /* * * Loop Group 2 * * */ function loopGroup2() { var a = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-5_' + a).each(function(chk1) { // watch for clicks chk1.observe('click', function(evt) { dynamicCheckbox2(); }); dynamicCheckbox2(); }); a++; } while (a < 4); } function dynamicCheckbox2() { // count how many of group_first are checked, // doEnable true if any are checked var doEnable3 = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-5_0:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; // for each in group_second, enable the checkbox, and // remove the cssDisabled class from the parent label var i = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-6_' + i).each(function(item) { if (doEnable3) { item.enable().up('li').removeClassName('cssDisabled'); } else { item.disable().up('li').addClassName('cssDisabled'); } }); i++; } while (i < 4); }; /* * * Loop Group 3 * * */ function loopGroup3() { var a = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-6_' + a).each(function(chk1) { // watch for clicks chk1.observe('click', function(evt) { dynamicCheckbox3(); }); dynamicCheckbox3(); }); a++; } while (a < 4); } function dynamicCheckbox3() { // count how many of group_first are checked, // doEnable true if any are checked var doEnable4 = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-6_0:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; var doEnable5 = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-6_1:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; // for each in group_second, enable the checkbox, and // remove the cssDisabled class from the parent label var i = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-7_' + i).each(function(item) { if (doEnable4 || doEnable5) { item.enable().up('li').removeClassName('cssDisabled'); } else { item.disable().up('li').addClassName('cssDisabled'); } }); i++; } while (i < 4); }; /* * * Loop Group 4 * * */ function loopGroup4() { var a = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-9_' + a).each(function(chk1) { // watch for clicks chk1.observe('click', function(evt) { dynamicCheckbox4(); }); dynamicCheckbox4(); }); a++; } while (a < 4); } function dynamicCheckbox4() { // count how many of group_first are checked, // doEnable true if any are checked var doEnable6 = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-9_0:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; var doEnable7 = ($$('.selectedAuthorities-9_1:checked').length > 0) ? true : false; // for each in group_second, enable the checkbox, and // remove the cssDisabled class from the parent label var i = 0; do { $$('.selectedAuthorities-10_' + i).each(function(item) { if (doEnable6 || doEnable7) { item.enable().up('li').removeClassName('cssDisabled'); } else { item.disable().up('li').addClassName('cssDisabled'); } }); i++; } while (i < 4); };

  • How do I remove elements from a jQuery wrapped set

    - by Bungle
    I'm a little confused about which jQuery method and/or selectors to use when trying to select an element, and then remove certain descendant elements from the wrapped set. For example, given the following HTML: <div id="article"> <div id="inset"> <ul> <li>This is bullet point #1.</li> <li>This is bullet point #2.</li> <li>This is bullet point #3.</li> </ul> </div> <p>This is the first paragraph of the article</p> <p>This is the second paragraph of the article</p> <p>This is the third paragraph of the article</p> </div> I want to select the article: var $article = $('#article'); but then remove <div id="inset"></div> and its descendants from the wrapped set. I tried the following: var $article = $('#article').not('#inset'); but that didn't work, and in retrospect, I think I can see why. I also tried using remove() unsuccessfully. What would be the correct way to do this? Ultimately, I need to set this up in such a way that I can define a configuration array, such as: var selectors = [ { select: '#article', exclude: ['#inset'] } ]; where select defines a single element that contains text content, and exclude is an optional array that defines one or more selectors to disregard text content from. Given the final wrapped set with the excluded elements removed, I would like to be able to call jQuery's text() method to end up with the following text: This is the first paragraph of the article.This is the second paragraph of the article.This is the third paragraph of the article. The configuration array doesn't need to work exactly like that, but it should provide roughly equivalent configuration potential. Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Rails editing multiple records at once

    I feel like this might be really simple but I'm just not getting it right, so I have like a settings page in my app and I want each setting to be like a key value store, for example: +-------------------+--------------------------------+ | setting | value | +-------------------+--------------------------------+ | twitter_username | something | +-------------------+--------------------------------+ | facebook_url | http://facebook.com/someguy | +-------------------+--------------------------------+ My form looks something like this: <% form_tag set_admin_settings_path, :method => :put do %> <ol> <% for setting in @settings %> <li class="field"> <label><%= setting.setting_name.humanize %></label> <%= text_field_tag "[setting_value][]", setting.setting_value %> </li> <% end %> <li class="submit"> <%= submit_tag "Update settings" %> </li> </ol> <% end %> Everything renders fine but when I try to save the form, nothing is saved :(

  • is it possible to make a child element visible if the parent is hidden

    - by amir
    Hi just wondering if its possible to have a hidden parent and a visible child with css or jQuery, basically on some certain pages I'm trying to make a child element visible even though the parents are hidden, var bodyClass = jQuery('body').attr('class'); //alert (bodyClass); var searchTerm = 'category-mens'; var searchTerm2 = 'category-ladies'; if((bodyClass.search(searchTerm) || bodyClass.search(searchTerm2)) != -1) { jQuery('.nav-container ul.level0 li.level1 ul.level1 li.level2 ul.level2 li.first a span').css({ 'display':'block', 'position':'absolute', 'top':'500px', 'left':'500px' }); } at the moment it doesn't work because the li.level2 is hidden. • Jscrollpane causese text to disappear on internet explorer

    - by Crippletoe
    Hello all, in my current site, i am using the new Jscrollpane in order to generate a scrollbar for a menu (not my descision but the designer's descision so i dont wanna get into how 90's that all looks like..). my menu is based on a <UL> the <li> elements inside it have the attribute "text-align: right;". my problem that on IE alone the menu text doesnt show when i apply the ScrollPane to the menu. when i delete the ScrollPane function from my code- the menu re-appears. i checked the page with "microsoft Expression" DOM inspector in order to examine how IE sees my code and i can see the <li> elements there, only the text inside them is missing. when i disable the "text-align: right;" for the <li> in my CSS, the text shows again. i suspect this has something to do with the jScrollPane's containing which is relatively aligned but i cannot be sure.. can anyone suggest some fix for this problem? a link to a page where you can see the problem is here: http://kaplanoland.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2&Itemid=12 the problematic menu is on the right side of the page. on every browser but IE you can see the text. only on IE not. my CSS code for that menu (not including the jScrollPane CSS) is here: div#menu2{ position: absolute; top: 123px; right: 36px; width: 330px; height: 150px; } div#menu2_scroll{ /*the actual scroller*/ height: 150px; } div#menu2 div#menu2_contain{ } div#menu2 li{ text-align: right; } div#menu2 li span{ line-height: 18px; } div#menu2 a:link, div#menu2 a:visited{ color: #808285 ; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif ; font-size: 12px ; } div#menu2 a:hover, div#menu2 li#current a{ color: #000000 ; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif ; font-size: 12px ; } div#menu2 span.separator{ display: block; padding-top: 12px; padding-bottom: 40px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; color: #000000; } div#menu2 span.separator span { padding-top: 12px; border-top-width: 1px; border-top-style: solid; border-top-color: #808285; } thank you all so much.

  • Jquery-UI tabs : Double loading of the default tab with

    - by Stephane
    I use jqueryui-tabs to display a tabbed UI. here is how my markup looks in a MasterPage: <div id="channel-tabs" class="ui-tabs"> <ul class="ui-tabs-nav"> <li><%=Html.ActionLink("Blogs", "Index", "Blog", new { query = Model.Query, lang = Model.SelectedLanguage, fromTo = Model.FromTo, filters = Model.FilterId }, new{ title="Blog Results" }) %></li> <li><%=Html.ActionLink("Forums", "Index", "Forums", new { query = Model.Query, lang = Model.SelectedLanguage, fromTo = Model.FromTo, filters = Model.FilterId }, null) %></li> <li><%=Html.ActionLink("Twitter", "Index", "Twitter", new { query = Model.Query, lang = Model.SelectedLanguage, fromTo = Model.FromTo, filters = Model.FilterId }, null) %></li> </ul> <div id="Blog_Results"> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="ResultPlaceHolder" runat="server"> </asp:ContentPlaceHolder> </div> If the content is loaded via ajax, I return a partial view with the content of the tab. If the content is loaded directly, I load a page that include the content in the ContentPlaceHolder. somewhat like this : <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="BlogPlaceHolder" runat="server"> <%=Html.Partial("Partial",Model) %> </asp:Content> //same goes for the other tabs. With this in place, if I access the url "/Forums" It loads the forum content in the Blog tab first, trigger the ajax load of the Blog tab and replace the content with the blog content. I tried putting a different placeholder for each tab, but that didn't fix everything either, since when loading "/Forums" it will sure load the forum tab, but the Blog tab will show up first. Furthermore, when using separate placeholders, If I load the "/Blogs" url, It will first load the content statically in the Blog contentplaceholder and then trigger an ajax call to load it a second time and replace it. If I just link the tab to the hashtag, then when loading the forum tabs, I won't get the blog content... How would you achieve the expected behaviour? I feel like I might have a deeper probelm in the organization of my views. Is putting the tabs in the masterpage the way to go? Maybe I should just hijax the links manually and not rely on jquery-ui tabs to do the work for me. I cannot load all tabs by default and display them using the hash tags, I need an ajax loading because it is a search process that can be long. So to sum up : /Forum should load the forum tab, and let the other tabs be loaded with an ajax call when clicking on it. /Twitter should load the twitter tab and let the other tabs.... the same goes for /Blogs and any tabs I would add later.

When you click a thumbnail you will scroll to the top and the div will slidetoggle. <ul id="work-list"> <li id="work-list-51"><a data-page="51" href="#work-list-51"> <img width="230" height="230" alt="Mariann Rosa" src="sites/default/files/styles/square_thumbnail/public/field/image/mariann.jpg"> </a></li> <li id="work-list-52"><a data-page="52" href="#work-list-52"> <img width="230" height="230" alt="Mariann Rosa" src="sites/default/files/styles/square_thumbnail/public/field/image/mariann.jpg"> </a></li> <li id="work-list-53"><a data-page="53" href="#work-list-53"> <img width="230" height="230" alt="Mariann Rosa" src="sites/default/files/styles/square_thumbnail/public/field/image/mariann.jpg"> </a></li> </ul> I have come this far: $(document).ready(function(){ $("#work-list a").click(function(event){ event.preventDefault(); $('html, body').animate ( {scrollTop: $('#top').offset().top}, 800 ); }); $('#work-list a').click(function(e) { $('#work-container > div').hide(); $(this.hash).slideToggle(1600); }); }); It scrolls to top and the div becomes visible but it does not work correctly :)

  • jQuery $.data(): Possible misuse?

    - by Rosarch
    Perhaps I'm using $.data incorrectly. Assigning the data: var course_li = sprintf('<li class="draggable course">%s</li>', course["fields"]["name"]); $(course_li).data('pk', course['pk']); alert(course['pk']); // shows a correct value Moving the li to a different ul: function moveToTerm(item, term) { item.fadeOut(function() { item.appendTo(term).fadeIn(); }); } Trying to access the data later: $.each($(term).children(".course"), function(index, course) { var pk = $(course).data('pk'); // pk is undefined courses.push(pk); }); What am I doing wrong? I have confirmed that the course li on which I am setting the data is the same as the one on which I am looking for it. (Unless I'm messing that up by calling appendTo() on it?)

  • Help with shopping cart in javascript

    - by user228390
    Hey guys, I'm having problems with my shopping cart. What I am trying to do is make a function that will add an item the cart and then and function that will view the cart and show the details. But what I have got so far does not do that, it just simply adds and goes straight to view cart. Also I wanted to store the name of each items in different global arrays (name, price and sum) but I can't get it work that way. Can any help me overcome this problem? Edit: I've tried to get it to work by adding some more items and attaching it to another html page, but now the code does not seem to work at all , before it showed the price and total and now I get nothing . javascript code function round_total (c) { var pennies = c * 100; pennies = Math.round(pennies); var strPennies = "" + pennies; var len = strPennies.length; return parseFloat(strPennies.substring(0, len - 2) + "." + strPennies.substring(len - 2, len)); } // End of round_total function. /* Start of generate_page function. */ function generate_page (form) { tax = 0.08; delivery_p = 2.99; var odate = new Date(); var qty = form.quantity.value; var product_v = new String(form.product.value); var total_price = product_v.substr(product_v.indexOf("$") + 1, product_v.length - product_v.indexOf("$")); var price_without_tax = round_total(qty * total_price); var ttax = round_total(price_without_tax * tax); var delivery = round_total(qty * delivery_p); var total_p = round_total(price_without_tax + ttax + delivery); document.writeln("Quantity: " + qty + "<br>"); document.writeln("Price: $" + total_price + "<br>"); document.writeln("Delivery: $" + delivery + "<br>"); document.writeln("Total: $" + total_p + "<br>"); document.writeln("Order placed on: " + odate.toGMTString()); } function calculate() { round_total (c)(); generate_page (form)(); } HTML code: Shopping cart Welcome, Guest Login Sign Up Stay Updated: Subscribe via RSS Email Updates <div id="header"> <div id="branding" class="container"> <h1>The Finest Toy<br /> Store Online</h1> <p class="desc">If you're looking for a toy shop then look no further.<br/> Go on, treat the kids with our huge selection of<br/>online toy shops selling toys for all ages.</p> </div><!-- end branding --> <div id="navigation"> <ul id="menu" class="container"> <li><a href="#">HOME</a></li> <li><a href="#">ABOUT</a></li> <li><a href="#">Online Store</a></li> <li><a href="#">CONTACT</a></li> </ul> </div><!-- end navigation --> </div><!-- end header --> Shopping Cart Nintendo DS Xbox Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity: Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity:     Playstation 3 Wii Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity:   Product: Console £149.99 Console + Games £169.99 Quantity:        <input type="submit" value="Add to cart" name="submit" onClick="cart()";/><input , type="reset" value="Reset" name="reset" Copyright © 2010 shopping cart.
