  • mod_rewrite with anchor link

    - by Graham
Hi, thanks for looking. I know you can't redirect anchor URLs to another page, but is it possible to redirect a URL to only a single anchor? So http://www.example.com/video/{title} always gets sent to http://www.example.com/video.php?title={title}#player The only thing that changes is the title, anchor is always the same... I need to redirect to a certain slide on a coda slider

  • RewriteRule - Doesn't work on live site - subfolder to new domain

    - by eb_Dev
I have the following rule on my local dev site and it works fine: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^localhost$ RewriteRule ^subdomains/example.com(.*) http://www.example.com$1 [R=301,L] However when I change it to: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$ RewriteRule ^subdomains/example.com(.*) http://www.example.com$1 [R=301,L] and upload it to my live site it doesn't work, if i change the rule to: RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$ RewriteRule ^subdomains/(.*) http://www.example.com$1 [R=301,L] the rule functions as expected and directs an url beginning with www.domain.com/subdomains/ to www.example.com/. Does anyone know what is going on here? Thanks for you help.

  • Moved X-cart site to Sub Directory - Need Help setting up Redirects

    - by Rich G
I recently moved an x-cart site from a root directory to a sub directory, and also built a new Wordpress site under the root directory. The problem I am having is that I am trying to figure out a redorect combo that will show the search engines that the product pages are now under the sub directory (/store) but do not want the search engines to exclude the brand new site under the Root directory. I was thinking that if I could just have redirect any .html file (all of the product pages link to .html pages) that it would redirect to the same page just under the sub directory. The reason I cannot do everything one by one is because there are about 50k+ products that would need be changed. Any information and help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advanced!

Example http://mysite.com redirected to http://othersite.com I removed the redirect about one week ago, but some users still seeing the redirect http://othersite.com rather than http://mysite.com. Clearing the browser cache fixes the problem. Is there are way I can force users to update their cache when they go to my site?

  • Regex pattern help (I almost have it, just need a bit of expertise to finish it)

    - by Mohammad
I need to match two cases js/example_directory/example_name.js and js/example_directory/example_name.js?12345 (where 12345 is a digit string of unknown length and the directory can be limitless in depth or not exist at all) I need to capture in both cases everything between js/ and .js and if ? exists capture the digit string after ? This is what I have so far ^js/(.*).js\??(\d+)? This works except it also captures js/example_directory/example_name.js12345 I want the regex to ignore that. Any suggestions? Thank you all! Test your patterns here

  • Deny http access to a directory, allow access from WordPress plugin

    - by luke
Hey. I need to prevent direct access to http://www.site.com/wp-content/uploads/folder/something.pdf through the browser. However the Download Monitor plugin I am using, which allows logged in users to download the file, needs to be able to work. Trying Order Allow,Deny Deny from all Allow from all but the download links do not now work... even though (I think) they are links produced by the script e.g. http://www.site.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=something.pdf Enter that in the address bar and you correctly get a WordPress message, 'You must be logged in to download this file.' However, if someone knows the URL where the file was uploaded http://www.site.com/wp-content/uploads/folder/something.pdf they can still access it directly. I don't know how (guesswork?) they would find the direct URL anyway, but the client wants it stopped! Thanks for any help.

  • Pointing a domain to a subscription based web-app?

    - by jefff
Hello everyone, I'm about to start building a subscription based website that will function much like 37signals offerings in terms of users paying a monthly fee to use the site. But in my case I would like for them to be able to use their own hosted domain names and have them point to my server. Is this possible? How do i link up the domain name with their account on my server? Thanks a mil!

  • How to capture a 'sub-section' of a URL in a rewrite rule?

    - by George Edison
I know the title is a little bit strange, but here is what the URLs look like: /user/xxx/page /user/xxx/page?error=yyy The rule for the first URL looks something like this: RewriteRule ^user/(\d+)/page$ something.pl?id=$1 [L] And to make it work with the second URL, it becomes: RewriteRule ^user/(\d+)/page(error=\d+)?$ something.pl?id=$1 [L] My question is... how do I capture the error number? I tried both of these: RewriteRule ^user/(\d+)/page(error=(\d+))?$ something.pl?id=$1&error=$2 [L] RewriteRule ^user/(\d+)/page(error=(\d+))?$ something.pl?id=$1&error=$3 [L] But it isn't working... How can I do this?

  • facebook app development

    - by musoNic80
I have always developed my projects using MAMP locally and once done simply uploaded everything to a live server. However, I'm wanting to integrate some FB functionality in my current project and I believe I'm correct in saying that it is not possible to fully test FB integration locally. My problem is I don't want to release the project I'm working on until it's finished (or at least nearly finished!) by placing it on a live server. I don't even want people to see a login screen or anything. Is there a way I can upload everything to my domain for testing purposes but prevent anyone apart from me from accessing the site?

  • Problem with routes and mod-rewrite (if not absolute i don't get CSS, JS or images)

    - by Toni Michel Caubet
hi there! i updated the code from my website to a 'better' veersion i think, it works fine but when i try to implement the friendly URL and load it, works, but with no CSS, Javascript or images, but if i corret the routes for the css to http://website/css/style.css (instead of ./css/style.css) it i do see the CSS properly loaded, any idea why? Example: http://keepyourlinks.com/link1.php?id=25 VS http://keepyourlinks.com/keep/25/series-yonkis (i updated the route of the CSS, but the Javascript is missing an the images asweell) I really would like not to have to correct al routes :(

  • mod_rewrite and relative urls

    - by Davide Gualano
I'm setting up some simple url rewriting rules using mod_rewrite and a .htacces file, but I've got some problems. If I set up the .htacces this way: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule /index.html /index.php [L] when I call from the browser this url: http://localhost/~dave/mySite/index.html I got a 404 error. Using this .htacces instead Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule /index.html http://localhost/~dave/mySite/index.php [L] everything works fine and I get the index.php page I'm expecting. Am I forced to user absolute urls as the target of a rewrite? Is this a Apache configuration problem? I'm using Max OS X 10.6.2 with its standard Apache installation.

  • Rewrite css/js paths

    - by wooptoo
So I rewrote my paths to something like: URL/really/nice/paths/ using mod_rewrite rules like this: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?url=$1 [PT,L] </IfModule> The question is how could I rewrite the paths for js/css/image files too, so when they are requested with a relative path from URL/really/nice/path/ to be served from URL/scripts/, URL/styles/ and URL/images/ folders instead? Can this be done without using RewriteBase?

  • RewriteRule not working do not know how to test it the regex matches

    - by user564559
Hello I have a Rewrite rule I am trying to implement on my local host but I cannot get it to do the action no matter how I setup the regex the files are in this naming scheme /docroot/css/stylesheet.min.css and I have them printed in the code like /docroot/css/stylesheet.min.123438348.css (the number is example it comes from a get modified function). Note docroot is an example directory how can I have the server ignore the numbers and redirect to the stylesheet.min.css I need to do this for every css and js files (/js and /css) as well as one specific spritemap image my current attempt RewriteRule ^/(docroot)/(js|css)/(.+)\.(min)\.(.+)\.(js|css)$ /$1/$2/$3.$4.$6 RewriteRule ^(/docroot/images/spritemap)\.([0-9]+)\.(png)$ $1.$3 I have this wrapped in a I am on linux..should this be mod_rewrite.so?"

  • Append a parameter to a querystring with mod_rewrite

    - by Matt
Hello, I would like to use mod_rewrite to append a parameter to the end of a querystring. I understand that I can do this using the [QSA] flag. However, I would like the parameter appended ONLY if it does not already exist in the querystring. So, if the querystring was: http://www.mysite.com/script.php?colour=red&size=large I would like the above URL to be re-directed to http://www.mysite.com/script.php?colour=red&size=large&weight=heavy Where weight=heavy is appended to the end of the querystring only if this specific parameter was not there in the first place! If the specific parameter is already in the URL then no redirect is required. Can anybody please suggest code to put in my .htacess file that can do this? Thanks.

  • Hidden features of mod_rewrite

    - by Owen
There seem to be a decent number of mod_rewrite threads floating around lately with a bit of confusion over how certain aspects of it work. As a result I've compiled a few notes on common functionality, and perhaps a few annoying nuances. What other features / common issues have you run across using mod_rewrite?

  • mod_rewrite with GET requests

    - by iMaster
I have mod_rewrite working on most of my site. Right now I have a search that normally would point to search.php?keyword=KEYWORD And I'm trying to rewrite that to search/?keyword=KEYWORD Just to make it a little bit cleaner. So here's my mod_rewrite. (There are other rules I'm just posting the one that isn't working.) RewriteRule ^search/?keyword=([^/\.]+)/?$ search.php?search=$1 When I type a search in the address bar way I want it to be, I get a page telling me its a "broken link" (I'm guessing that that's Chrome's equivalent of a 404 error). So what am I doing wrong? I think that the problem is the '=' or the '?' sign in the rule (the first part) because when I take the ?keyword= part out, it works. Does that make sense?

  • How do I set IP access / password restrictions in Apache?

    - by Mouthbreather
I'd like to restrict access to my Rails app (running on Apache/Passenger) to just two IPs, but if the visitor doesn't fall into those two IPs, I would like for him/her to be prompted to enter a password that would allow any user with the proper credentials to access the site from anywhere. I am new to configuring Apache and would appreciate any hints. Thanks!

  • How to correct this rewrite rule?

    - by Justin John
I have url as http://www.mydomain.com/levels/home?mode=48bb6e862e54f2a795ffc4e541caed4d. I need to change this url to http://www.mydomain.com/medium. I am not familiar with rewrite url. I tried with RewriteRule ^medium/?$ levels/home?mode=48bb6e862e54f2a795ffc4e541caed4d, but not worked correctly. Full rewrite rule RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^medium/?$ levels/home?mode=48bb6e862e54f2a795ffc4e541caed4d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php [QSA,L]
