  • Prosody mod auth external not working

    - by Yang
I installed mod_auth_external for 0.8.2 on ubuntu 12.04 but it's not working. I have external_auth_command = "/home/yang/chat/testing" but it's not getting invoked. I enabled debug logging and see no messages from that mod. Any help? I'm using the Candy example client. Here's what's written to the log after I submit a login request (and nothing in err log): Oct 24 21:02:43 socket debug server.lua: accepted new client connection from 127.0.0.1:40527 to 5280 Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh debug BOSH body open (sid: %s) Oct 24 21:02:43 boshb344ba85-fbf5-4a26-b5f5-5bd35d5ed372 debug BOSH session created for request from 169.254.11.255 Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh info New BOSH session, assigned it sid 'b344ba85-fbf5-4a26-b5f5-5bd35d5ed372' Oct 24 21:02:43 httpserver debug Sending response to bf9120 Oct 24 21:02:43 httpserver debug Destroying request bf9120 Oct 24 21:02:43 httpserver debug Request has destroy callback Oct 24 21:02:43 socket debug server.lua: closed client handler and removed socket from list Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh debug Session b344ba85-fbf5-4a26-b5f5-5bd35d5ed372 has 0 out of 1 requests open Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh debug and there are 0 things in the send_buffer Oct 24 21:02:43 socket debug server.lua: accepted new client connection from 127.0.0.1:40528 to 5280 Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh debug BOSH body open (sid: b344ba85-fbf5-4a26-b5f5-5bd35d5ed372) Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh debug Session b344ba85-fbf5-4a26-b5f5-5bd35d5ed372 has 1 out of 1 requests open Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh debug and there are 0 things in the send_buffer Oct 24 21:02:43 mod_bosh debug Have nothing to say, so leaving request unanswered for now Oct 24 21:02:43 httpserver debug Request c295d0 left open, on_destroy is function(mod_bosh.lua:81) Here's the config I added: modules_enabled = { ... • How can I close a Window using the OS-X ScriptingBridge framework, from Perl?

    - by Gavin Brock
Problem... Since MacPerl is no longer supported on 64bit perl, I am trying alternative frameworks to control Terminal.app. I am trying the ScriptingBridge, but have run into a problem passing an enumerated string to the closeSaving method using the PerlObjCBridge. I want to call: typedef enum { TerminalSaveOptionsYes = 'yes ' /* Save the file. */, TerminalSaveOptionsNo = 'no ' /* Do not save the file. */, TerminalSaveOptionsAsk = 'ask ' /* Ask the user whether or not to save the file. */ } TerminalSaveOptions; - (void) closeSaving:(TerminalSaveOptions)saving savingIn:(NSURL *)savingIn; // Close a document. Attempted Solution... I have tried: #!/usr/bin/perl use strict; use warnings; use Foundation; # Load the ScriptingBridge framework NSBundle->bundleWithPath_('/System/Library/Frameworks/ScriptingBridge.framework')->load; @SBApplication::ISA = qw(PerlObjCBridge); # Set up scripting bridge for Terminal.app my $terminal = SBApplication->applicationWithBundleIdentifier_("com.apple.terminal"); # Open a new window, get back the tab my $tab = $terminal->doScript_in_('exec sleep 60', undef); warn "Opened tty: ".$tab->tty->UTF8String; # Yes, it is a tab # Now try to close it # Simple idea eval { $tab->closeSaving_savingIn_('no ', undef) }; warn $@ if $@; # Try passing a string ref my $no = 'no '; eval { $tab->closeSaving_savingIn_(\$no, undef) }; warn $@ if $@; # Ok - get a pointer to the string my $pointer = pack("P4", $no); eval { $tab->closeSaving_savingIn_($pointer, undef) }; warn $@ if $@; eval { $tab->closeSaving_savingIn_(\$pointer, undef) }; warn $@ if $@; # Try a pointer decodes as an int, like PerlObjCBridge uses my $int_pointer = unpack("L!", $pointer); eval { $tab->closeSaving_savingIn_($int_pointer, undef) }; warn $@ if $@; eval { $tab->closeSaving_savingIn_(\$int_pointer, undef) }; warn $@ if $@; # Aaarrgghhhh.... As you can see, all my guesses at how to pass the enumerated string fail. Before you flame me... I know that I could use another language (ruby, python, cocoa) to do this but that would require translating the rest of the code. I might be able to use CamelBones, but I don't want to assume my users have it installed. I could also use the NSAppleScript framework (assuming I went to the trouble of finding the Tab and Window IDs) but it seems odd to have to resort to it for just this one call.

  • Why does my Perl/Tk button widget size vary with different xterm clients?

    - by Manu
I have a Perl/Tk script in which I am creating a button widget of height 1. Now when I execute script through Citrix xterm client I get button displayed. Again when I execute script now through xterm client in my PC size of button widget differs. Can someone explain why is this happening, and what should I do so that size of button widget remains constant with different xterm clients?

  • Is there a workaround to the disappearing Perl/Tk text widget scrollbar for right justified content?

    - by Streamline
I've come across a bug I believe in Perl/Tk 804.027 Text Widget (using Scrollable('ROText')). When I add a tag that selects all and apply the configuration change to justify to the right, the scrollbars do not show up. If I comment out the tagConfigure where I justify to the right, the scrollbars come back. Does anyone have a workaround or fix for being able to right justify a text widget's contents (includes text and embedded entry widgets) and still have functional horizontal scrollbars?

  • Perl Moose::Util::TypeConstraints bug ? what is this error about the name has invalid chars ?

    - by alex8657
That has been hours i am tracking a Moose::Util::TypeConstraints exceptions, i don't understand where it gets to check a type and tells me that the name is incorrect. • Why is Perl commonly used for writing CGI scripts?

    - by Michael Vasquez
I plan to add a better search feature to my site, so I thought that I would write it in C and use the CGI as a means to access it. But it seems that Perl is the most popular language when it comes to CGI-based stuff. Why is that? Wouldn't it be faster programmed in C or machine code? What advantages, if any, are there to writing it in a scripting language? Thanks.

  • How can I translate Linux keycodes from /dev/input/event* to ASCII in Perl?

    - by Bogdan Constantinescu
I'm writing a Perl script that reads data from the infamous /dev/input/event* and I didn't find a way to translate the key codes generated by the kernel into ASCII. I'm talking about the linux key codes in this table here and I can't seem to find something that would help me translate them without hardcoding an array into the script. Am I missing something? I'd like to skip the array part because it doesn't seem to be a good practice, so any idea? :)

  • How can I tell if a set of parens in perl code will act as grouping parens or form a list?

    - by Ryan Thompson
In perl, parentheses are used for overriding precedence (as in most programming languages) as well as for creating lists. How can I tell if a particular pair of parens will be treated as a grouping construct or a one-element list? For example, I'm pretty sure this is a scalar and not a one-element list: (1 + 1) But what about more complex expressions? Is there an easy way to tell?

  • How can I count paragraphs in text file using Perl?

    - by robjez
    I need to create Perl code which allows counting paragraphs in text files. I tried this and doesn't work: open(READFILE, "<$filename") or die "could not open file \"$filename\":$!"; $paragraphs = 0; my($c); while($c = getc(READFILE)) { if($C ne"\n") { $paragraphs++; } } close(READFILE); print("Paragraphs: $paragraphs\n");

  • How to search for alphanumeric word before or after a keyword in perl?

    - by aliocee
I have sentences as shown in the below examples: $sen1 = "The quick brown fox jump KEYWORD over123 the3 lazy dog, fox is quick"; $sen2 = "The quick brown fox jump123 KEYWORD over the lazy dog, fox is quick"; i want to use the keyword 'KEYWORD' as my search string to extract the alphanumeric words before and after the search string using Perl regular expression. sample output: over123 jump123 NB: The word 'the3' is left out because i'm only searching for alphanumeric words exactly before or after the 'KEYWORD'. Thanks
